Can anyone enlighten me on the  motion leaking issue?  Wouldn't that be a major no-no, I mean the kind of thing that could bring sanctions?  Is giving copies of motions  to the press, even already filed ones, standard policy?

Admonishment perhaps

This was part of Chief Judge Belvin Perry's Order so

The order reflects Perry's reputation for efficiency. He also asked attorneys to provide him a list of motions that will require evidentiary hearings and those based on pleadings and to give courtesy copies to the court of future motions.

The motion that defense attorneys filed asking that Strickland be removed from the case was not provided to the court ahead of time, court administrators said.
*
This recent round of motions is not the first to be leaked before filing with the Court by this defense, but nonetheless that just got nipped in the bud

The State Attorney's office will release another batch of discovery on Friday morning in the capital murder case against Casey Anthony.

Bring it on.

Yes, and on my day off. Perfecto.

ahahahaha....I didn't think any case could geet crazier than Caylee's...but HaLeigh's has.....too darn many players........and they are all liars!.

I called and asked about your question..I was told that it is not unusual IF an attorney/firm has a good working relationship with a reporter, that a reporter get a copy of motions WITH the understanding that it NOT be published until it has been filed with the clerk.  That way the reporter can be the first to reveal it....thereby getting an running start on the other media outlets.

New Anthony Judge Calls For Hearing
Belvin Perry Takes Case Over From Stan Strickland

POSTED: Thursday, April 22, 2010
UPDATED: 4:40 pm EDT April 22, 2010
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony is set to make her first appearance before a new judge next week.

Judge Belvin Perry has called for a case management hearing on April 30. Perry took over the case from Judge Stan Strickland after the defense filed a motion asking that Strickland be disqualified over a friendship with a blogger. Strickland recused himself earlier this week.

The hearing will be an opportunity for Perry to call all the attorneys together to make sure he has all the information he needs to get up to speed on the case.

Meanwhile, a new batch of public records related to the case is expected to be released on Friday by the state attorney's office.

The release is expected to include police evidence logs, which may have already been released in a digital format.

Friday's release is also expected to contain witness interviews, but the state attorney's office has not specified who the interviews are with.

Anthony, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.

Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July 2008. Her remains were found in December 2008 in a wooded area near the Anthony family's east Orange County home.

Anthony is being held at the Orange County Jail on no bond.

Me too, it wasn't til I just couldn't be quiet in there that the old mind started to unravel.  The Satsuma bunch is just too crazy not to comment on, then that needs another comment until I'm swimming in it!   Anyhoo, glad about the things in kc's case and hope the doc tomorrow have a zinger or two.

Well again, thanks.  If nothing else, this gives them a little black eye. They are always so quick to accuse the state about leaking things and trying the case in the media, both of which are so untrue, but they love to make a dramatic scene about it anyway...hahaha dufense     Good to know you got the inside connections to get answers if you don't already know the  legal low down.

Good Afternoon Monkeys and Guest!

I think I am going to love me some Judge Perry. I don't think he is going to put up with Bozo's little jabs at the SA's. And only one counsel member can examine or cross examine a witness. So if Bozo is doing the talking, no one can take over for him when he screws up big time.
I was wishing for a no touching client in there also.

There may not be a direct no touching client notice but I'll bet the overdone huggles and rubbing gets curtailed big time. i'd also like to see a defendant no touching the microphone button too and no rifling the lawyers folder while he's at it,  but that's just me.       And by the way, I really would love to see you smack that skillet upside bozo's overlarge noggin!
