I don't know if it's been mentioned here before, but NG has a new syndicated show starting in the fall. Makes me wonder if that might be the reason she seems even less personally involved with the facts than she usually is.
http://www.swiftjustice.com/
Hmmm.. Am hoping then that Mike Brooks (or someone else) will take over her current show. Wonder if this new show has anything to do with the lawsuit that NG is facing in a couple of months? As in... Old show/contract cancelled??? Maybe she scrambled for another show and came up with this one? Hehehe....
Wonder if JVM is supposed to take over at HLN as the only show of it's kind?
Found this NY Times article
LAS VEGAS — CBS had to barter, literally, with television stations to secure time slots for its new syndicated show starring Nancy Grace, the tenacious former prosecutor.
CBS Television Distribution
Nancy Grace, the host of “Swift Justice.” The show, to be based in Atlanta, has distribution deals that cover most markets.
That explains why Ms. Grace’s coming courtroom show, “Swift Justice,” is virtually alone in finding nearly complete distribution ahead of the annual syndication sales event here.
Two months ago Oprah Winfrey announced her exit plan from syndication, drastically reshaping the daytime TV business. CBS, which distributes “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” and other companies are eager to start new daytime franchises, with an eye toward filling the time slots to be vacated by Ms. Winfrey when she moves to cable next year.
But their partners, local television stations, are suffering. The recession exacerbated the challenges of the local advertising business, making stations less able, or at least less willing, to pay the license fees that companies like CBS have demanded in the past.
To ensure “Swift Justice” would find time slots across the country, CBS agreed to so-called barter arrangements, with the syndicator and stations each selling about half of the advertising time on the show. Well ahead of its fall premiere, “Swift Justice” has already signed up stations covering 90 percent of the country’s TV households.
In formulating the show, “we knew we were going to have a real difficult financial market to deal with,” said John Nogawski, the president of CBS Television Distribution. “We knew only revenue was going to come from a barter arrangement with the station community.”
In syndication, companies like CBS stitch together distribution deals with dozens of stations to achieve nationwide coverage for shows. From these deals, “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and, more recently, “Dr. Phil,” “Ellen” and “The Dr. Oz Show” were born.
Prominent shows like “Oprah” and “Ellen” have historically commanded fees on top of an advertising split, with all-barter deals reserved for less prestigious programming. But a sour economy has made barter a more common option — and sometimes, the only option.
Heading into this season, “CBS and all the syndicators realized there was no real potential for significant license fees,” said Bill Carroll, director of programming for Katz Television.
But CBS was determined to start a show regardless. “To lose the opportunity of an entire year going by without a new franchise starting would be, I think, a real loss,” Mr. Nogawski said.
Several other syndicated prospects for the fall have failed to find buyers. Warner Brothers was enthusiastic about a possible show called “MomLogic” (the pilot starred Kate Gosselin from TLC and Paula Deen from the Food Network), but found that it was not financially practical this year, according to executives who requested anonymity because the show was never officially announced.
Sony Pictures Entertainment and Ms. Winfrey’s production company are developing a talk show around the interior designer (and frequent “Oprah” guest) Nate Berkus, but attendees at the National Association of Television Program Executives’ conference this week said that the show had struggled to sign up stations. A Sony spokeswoman said the company still planned to introduce the show this year, but declined to say whether stations had signed on.
For now, “Swift Justice” is essentially alone among first-run daytime shows for the fall. Most of the other deals happening in syndication involve reruns, like Bravo’s “Real Housewives,” which is being sold by NBC Universal to local stations.
CBS already syndicates several court shows, including the format’s most popular one, “Judge Judy,” and Mr. Nogawski said the company was careful not to create a look-alike starring Ms. Grace that would damage its existing shows. In fact, CBS executives try to avoid calling “Swift Justice” a court show at all, although they sometimes slip up.
On “Swift Justice,” “there’s not going to be a robe or a gavel,” Ms. Grace said. But she will resolve conflicts between participants, the same way other TV judges do, and her arbitration decisions will be binding.
Terry Wood, the president of creative affairs and development for CBS Television Distribution, said she would be talking up Ms. Grace’s “sensibility of justice” when she meets with station managers at the conference this week.
“Nancy will really reach the female court viewer — she listens and they believe her. It’s magic,” Ms. Wood said in an interview.
The show is about Ms. Grace, Ms. Wood added, and courtroom justice is the stage for her.
But Ms. Grace already has a daily stage, at CNN’s sister channel HLN, formerly known as Headline News. Her 8 p.m. hour about missing people and criminal investigations is HLN’s most popular program. The CNN Worldwide president Jim Walton was asked about the impact of Ms. Grace in syndication at a town hall for employees in Atlanta this month, which Ms. Grace was coincidentally moderating. Mr. Walton said he thought the daytime show would help HLN by raising Ms. Grace’s profile, according to people in the audience.
Ms. Grace agreed, saying in an interview that “they are so incredibly different, they’re going to complement each other.”
Without a license fee, CBS has to produce “Swift Justice” cheaply. The program will share an executive producer and other staff members with another CBS court show. Ms. Grace will tape episodes in Atlanta, where her HLN show is based, and will sometimes pipe in guests and experts via Skype and via satellite.
Other syndication executives say that waiting a year, until the fall 2011 season, when Ms. Winfrey will depart for her forthcoming cable channel, will help them cut more lucrative deals. Local stations have, to some extent, slowed the revenue losses recently, in part because of an increase in automobile advertising.
But it is hard to predict where the stations will be a year from now, when Ms. Winfrey’s exit is imminent, most likely setting in motion a series of time slot changes for syndicated shows.
“We would have loved to be in business with ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ forever,” Mr. Nogawski said. But her decision now known, executives can prepare for the post-Winfrey era. “It’s going to be good for the business to make us all creative,” he said.

I can't believe CNN is serious about Swift Justice attracting more viewers for HLN, she has become such a huge turnoff there's just no way they'll feel any long lasting effects from the new show.

River's hair is a lot longer than 5 inches.
I suggest she step away from the internet.

Everyone wftv just stated live on the news tonight that Baez's motion for not available is for 11 days in June, but he will be there this Friday.

sounds like he is going on vacation.
wonder if he is going on Geraldo's boat
Or ...maybe he, Geraldo, and Todd are going deep sea fishing out in Cally-Fornia.
Well, that seems feasible since they are all sharks
Love Boat soon will be making another run
The Love Boat promises something for everyone
Set a course for adventure,
Your mind on a new romance....
I really hope that Casey will not be able to appeal on grounds of ineffective counsel. So far, justice for Caylee has been a complete 3-ring circus, complete with Big Top.
Judge Perry, thank you, in advance, for being the cornerstone of reason.

River Cruz Upset That Bloggers Speculate Mystery Hair May Be Hers. Says It’s Impossible As She Never Met Caylee. If Hair Is Hers, Did George Set “Zanny the Nanny Prototype” Up And Put It There?
April 27th, 2010
I couldnt sleep so I got up to read for a bit, ugh what more stupid nonsense does this case need! So here is my opinion FWIW, I gave River the benefit of the doubt & she seemed to be forthright BUT she is rapidly becoming a huge torn in the side. River needs to step away from the internet, whether she feels victimized by George is not the issue of this case, Caylee being murdered is. Right now, I see her consistent complaining about how people are perceiving her or how she is connected to this case as being a very selfish act at this point. Let's face it, anyone with half a sense first of all wouldnt have given that creep money (certainly not in her life situation) nor carry on an affair with him. The majority of the public can see what has transpired in this case which makes her being somewhat closer to what was going on all the more unbelievable that she could not see that the Anthonys were covering up for Casey long before she felt scorned by George. I say this because even that horrible day, Dec 11th, she was hushing Kalani & telling him something that George did not want...I took that as she was protecting George at that time.
As for the hair on a piece of plastic, so what....move on its a red herring! The case has to be brought back to sensibility even when speculating case scenarios as to what may or may not have taken place months after the fact. Here is a question & I have yet to see any reference to it in discovery or cant recall seeing it: Besides Casey's fingerprints or DNA on the steering wheel of her car, were any from other individuals lifted? I would expect to see her family members & maybe a tow yard employee but other than that if there are no other prints it shows she was the only one that drove that car with a dead body in it because it matches up to her cell pings. Her cell pings also indicate that she then abandoned her car, but not without making excuses as to why the car smelled to others. What about the evidence found in the woods, what "Some other dude" or "nanny" (that no one ever met nor is there a picture of after a reported years of service) broke into the Anthony family home to gather very specific items that were found with Caylee's remains, No. Those belongings if you were to believe an Anthony would have been left with the nanny, but o no that cannot be said for example of the heart shape sticker that matches those found in Casey's room along with the backing it was on, the duct tape.
Case history & behavioral science studies indicate that more than likely a parent or sexual predator of convenience would discard a killed child close to home (within 5 miles generally). A sexual predator being ruled out not only due to no evidence, DNA or otherwise, as well as it does not explain what was forensically found in Casey's abandoned car five months before remains were discovered around the corner from the Anthony home. Another psychological consideration is that mothers instinctively would be frantic & visibly disturbed rather consistently facing something similar to the story Casey told. A mother would not be able to conceal the fact that their child was abducted or missing, even if afraid of getting police involved that mother would have reached out to at least someone if not several to help her - this did not occur in this case. No mother would protect other family members above her own child, certainly not other family members that she has claimed to despise & harbor great resentment for. If a mother or father was innocent of killing a child but was hiding something else that they did not want law enforcement to know most would cave & begin to tell the truth not make up several different chain of events that were all lies. Additionally, when facing the death penalty again nearly all would buckle & admit to a lesser crime to avoid the ultimate punishment, doing otherwise indicates a real sociopath and/or one that knows they are guilty hoping to get away with it...in her circumstances there is no other reason to hold out.
I suggest that if River wants to follow this case she should read the discovery, study the interviews, visits & depositions of Casey & those associated to her as well as follow the court proceedings instead of reading comments from the public, she could use the enlightenment. At this point, I do not think Dr. Glass is doing her any favors writing about their private conversations. River calling Dr. Glass only to have Dr. Glass get the word out to the public that she is upset & wants someone to speak for her is not going to end speculation or criticism, it will only escalate it further attributing to a declining mental health. At this point in time what would be advisable for her to do is to continue seeking counseling & staying out of public discussion, time will tell the truth & she needs to rely on that. If River has any concerns about being accused of something she did not do or that someone else is attempting to frame her she needs to talk to her attorney & LE about it. If she wants to settle the idea that George may have used her hair, her attorney should seek a private DNA analysis & submit it to the State to determine whether it can be excluded. I have to say that although we all know the Anthonys are scum & would go to any lengths to protect Casey, if they were to plant a random hair to frame someone it would have been placed more directly onto something definitely linked to the crime scene...ugh the thought of one of them doing something that heinous over their murdered granddaughter is beyond repulsive. We have to think about opportunity, the water level would have prevented that from taking place up until November. I do think they were told or figured out that is where she was because they sent DC there in November but to plant a hair, wow that would even shock me & Ive heard some pretty disgusting things in my years. O man, that went long....Ill end it here.

Well this is the first time I have seen reference to the unidentified hair, and bloggers speculating it is Rivers. I don't like nor trust River, and I don't trust or like George, I wouldn't put it past him to do such a thing though. But I seriously doubt it is her hair
