CBB - I don't know about the 30 day thing.  I thought it was 30 days from when it was filed.

CBB - on Deepak's myspace site he's now saying his location is Miami.  It doesn't mean he's really in Miami, that's just what he put there.

kimberly guilfoil just reported that while jqk was in aruba that the kallpoe bros were cross served papers so that the case could get discovery, filed by beth.

Well, I only have limited experience, but was once involved in a civil suit. Both sides had interrogatories (basically each side answered in writing, yes, no, and/or additional explanation to the allegations in the opposition's suit as filed). That had a 30 day time frame and the time started when we received the papers containing the allegations. Since we counter sued ( this was a business to business suit ), they were about a week behind us in getting their answers.

After that, was "discovery". Basically that was an exchange of evidence, including documentation to substantiate the allegations. We and they were able to request specific information. Our documentation was good enough to back the other side down and we entered a settlement, so it never progressed beyond that, but had that not happened, the next step was deposition. It was explained to us that deposition was a real free for all. Either side could ask absolutely anything; whether it related directly to the case or not, and you HAD to answer. Your atty might object but it was just for the record to try to keep the answer out of court once in front of a judge, but you had to answer. We postponed deposition once, and that allowed the opposition to reschedule it in their office in another state.

Don't know if any of that helps, but thought I'd offer it for what it's worth.

I KNOW! It really is! I felt so much better after that penguin slapped the crap out of him a few times!

CrazyBaby,
You outdid yourself with this one, how did you find the perfect head for Joran, he looks just like a doofus getting swatted upside the head.  First time I saw this made me think about what it must have looked like when he was served with his papers when he landed in the states.
