So this Ms. Barrett after talking to family......what's she gonna say, she should be pitied and spared the DP because the entire family hated KC cause she was a liar and a thief.....good luck with that as an excuse for murdering your baby Caylee!
I guess Seeme that is her position within is to portray Casey as necessary hah. Bobo said that this woman has interviewed all these relatives of Casey's ..from Ohio, Carolina's ... who are these people. Since day one  "no one" from the family but Rick Plesea has ever spoke out. Its been CA/GA/LA and Grandma Shirley. Not one " Friend of Family" has ever been heard of or seen. Even the Neighbors don't want to be involved.  Who are all these " family members" that were interviewed by Barrett to represent Casey's person/present/past ??
Beat me with a stick    .. sounds like nonsense, but then again it was Bobo who explained her " Barrett's"  key purpose for testimony.

Sounds like the long arm of investigating mitigating circumstances has gone past the immediate family and now has reached into the hidey holes that the parental A's have in their past. Maybe the destruction of the perfect family has started. We already know that CA really hates to be confronted with truth, it's got to be killing her to find out that the defense henchmen are beating the bushes regarding their past.

The replay of the March 18 hearing on truTV gave a bird's eye view of the difference a judge makes. Judge Perry is fair to each side but will not bend the rules for anyone. This alone favors the prosecution. He is not swayed in the least by Mason, Lyon, or any big name the defense can conjure up. I know he came to this case by action taken by the defense but this could not have worked out better as we seek justice for Caylee. To me, it appears he is on the bench by Divine Appointment. Sometimes things are done with evil motives and God turns it around for the good ! an angelic monkey

I only got to watch for a while this am but that song 'What a difference a day makes' kept running through my mind, but I was singing Judge instead of day.  Unless you had watched JStrickland and then Judge Perry you could not imagine the difference! I am so impressed with this Judge, he has seen it/done it/been there and Bozo's flim flam is not going to get past him.
Interesting they have spent SO many hours on the mitigation side of this, they KNOW she is going down.  It was so refreshing to see Bozo getting his azz kicked this am.
He even managed to call Mason's bluff with the request for a Jury Selection expert- since he and Mason had worked together so many times, and selected Juries without problem.
I just got back in, so will watch the end of the hearing and post again no doubt!

Hi mizjay!  I'd love to be a fly on the wall during these interviews!  I bet CA is wishing she'd been a little nicer to her family about now!

What a big baby Bobo is.  If you don't play with my rules I am going to go walk way and pout.

http://www.wftv.com/video/23475978/index.html
He doesn't want to be harassed, well then walk away and say no comment, dumbazz.

What a baby Bobo is.   I love Kathy B.
He certainly thinks he is The Man outside of Court Room .. man he was doing the the Bozo Strut ..all he was Missing was a Can of Paint to go with his cell phone ........
He needs to think first before he starts telling Kathi B she is the game player - when she is asking questions for the tax payers of Florida..

Judge Denies Anthony Records Request
Casey Anthony Charged With Murder In Death Of Daughter

POSTED: Wednesday, May 5, 2010
UPDATED: 2:45 pm EDT May 6, 2010
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The trial of Casey Anthony, who is charged with murdering her toddler daughter, will be a "battle of the experts" because of circumstantial evidence in the case, a judge said Thursday as he picked which specialists defense attorneys could hire with public funds.

Today's Hearing: http://www.clickorlando.com/slideshow/news/23473143/detail.html
Previous Hearing: http://www.clickorlando.com/slideshow/news/23473143/detail.html

Casey Anthony, 24, has been declared indigent, allowing public money to pay for expert witnesses and costs other than attorney fees.

During Thursday's hearing, Orange County Circuit Judge Belvin Perry denied requests to spend public money on four expert witnesses and forensic tests requested by Anthony's defense attorneys. The judge nixed a trace evidence expert, a cell phone expert, a jury consultant and money for a car to replicate evidence found in Anthony's car.

"A blanket order to seal, the court finds that the defense at this time has not met its burden to show that a serious and imminent threat to a fair and partial trial has been met," Perry said.

Perry approved spending public money on 10 other experts, including a bug expert, a forensic anthropologist, a forensic botanist and famed forensics expert Henry Lee, who has worked on the Phil Spector and JonBenet Ramsey cases. Those experts can give opinions on body decomposition based on plant growth and insects found around a body.
Perry denied a request from Anthony's attorneys to seal all records related to the public funding of her defense. The defense attorneys had argued their release would jeopardize her right to a fair trial by revealing defense strategy.

Rachel Fugate, an attorney for The Orlando Sentinel, told a judge that the request was too broad.

Anthony has pleaded not guilty, claiming a baby sitter kidnapped her daughter. Anthony's murder trial is set to start in May 2011.

Caylee was 2 years old she disappeared in June 2008, but she wasn't reported missing until almost a month later. Her remains were found in December 2008 in woods not far from the home she lived with her mother and grandparents.

At a hearing last week, Perry discussed a possible change of venue for the trial.

The state said it will not oppose most of the defense motion for a change of venue, but that only means a jury would be chosen in another Florida city. The jurors would then be brought back to Orange County for the trial, which attorneys predicted could take up to nine weeks.

Although a ruling has not been made on the change of venue, Perry indicated that if it happens, the jury would likely be sequestered in a hotel room.

"It's no secret that this case has received widespread publicity," Perry said. "The only way ... to make sure that they are not infected or polluted during this proceeding is to sequester them."

Perry took over Anthony's murder case after Orange County Circuit Judge Stan Strickland recused himself. Strickland's move followed a defense motion asking that Strickland be disqualified over a friendship with a blogger.

If I had to guess, they weren't in court for that reason......had Judge Perry not allowed in-camera, and brought out to the public.....well, you can imagine the chaos......IMO

Good point.

Hey NEWF~  Good to see ya.      In the beginning, remember any and every little thing that would come out, Spindy always had a ready answer for. She could always yell and come up with explanations ( the pizza, the chlorophyll etc)  It's a mind bender to know people that you prolly haven't seen or talked to in a while are being interviewed, no telling what stories they can tell about the A's and there's not a darn thing she can do about it.

I agree Mizjay
Now maybe Cindy knows how it felt for the Public to watch that video of her " henchmen" digging in the dirt for Caylee the video of Her PI's.  I hope she is tossing and turning every night ~ for what is/could be dug up from the Ant's past ~ that will be Broadcasted to the Entire World in Trial. Her always trying to portray herself to others "not my Family".. We are perfect. Shall be interesting. I wonder if anything that was of Casey's past " If " she had anything on file as a minor. Medical or otherwise will be brought in by the defense?
How far back are they willing to go ? I guess is my question.

Thank you all for the updates and comments about the hearing, much appreciated.  I could only catch bits and pieces because of work.

I just watched the interview Bia$$ did with the media and Kathi B afterwards and I cannot believe how juvenile Bia$$ is......setting ground rules or I am not gonna play - geeeeez just like a child who can't play nice in the sandbox - it is so obvious that Kathi B intimidates the he!! out of him and I love it.

He was truly livid---and I noted that Jar said he has filed yet another motion this morning and he wouldn't reveal what it was about?

Anthony defense team can't keep spending private

Casey Anthony's defense team won't be able to keep their spending of public funds private. Judge Belvin Perry turned down that request during a hearing Thursday.
ose Baez argued that if defense spending was made public it would prevent Casey from receiving a fair trial, but Perry disagreed.

He did rule in favor of the defense on several other matters, approving nearly every expert they wanted, including forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee.

"The work that he has done cannot be replicated or duplicated by someone else at this late stage in this trial," said Perry.

But Perry also made it clear that he will be scrutinizing the billing for every expert the defense brings in to make sure it's a good use of taxpayer money.

"They can bill whatever they want to bill," said Perry. "What they get paid is a horse of a different color."

Perry denied a handful of defense requests, including the hiring of a jury consultant and a cell-phone expert.

The defense has to get approval from the court for its expert witnesses because public money is funding her case. Casey was declared indigent earlier this year.

Nebraska !!!!!!!!! LOLOLOL...

Present and accounted for!  Uh.... what about Nebraska?

LOL--when Baez replied that one of his experts was fom there it was funny as it is so far away from Orlando & Judge Perry was hoping to cut costs and get as many local or nearby experts as possible.

My guess as to where CA & GA were today ...

1.  visiting friends and family far and wide ... pleading
2.  burning up their e-mail lines ... to family and friends ... pleading
3.  they both got jobs and were at work today ... NOT   Monkey Devil!

W O, You are so right. Baez showed his hand when he said the mitigation expert was the most important member of the defense team. He knows no matter the make up of the jury, the evidence presented, etc. his client will be found GUILTY. It really is about how much notoriety he can gather for himself as he tries to keep his guilty client off death row.
