Casey Anthony’s California lawyer withdraws from case
Casey Anthony’s California lawyer Todd Macaluso files motion to withdraw from the case.

By Bianca Prieto, Orlando Sentinel

11:14 AM EDT, April 28, 2010

Casey Anthony's California attorney Todd Macaluso has filed a motion to be removed from her case because he is in trouble with the California Bar.

Macaluso filed the one-page motion Monday stating that he is on "involuntary inactive status with the California State Bar…for an undetermined period of time."

In February, Macaluso told the defense team that he could no longer represent Anthony because he had entered an alternative-discipline program after being accused of "moral turpitude, dishonesty or corruption" in handling several trust accounts.

The California State Bar alleged that he misappropriated about $145,000 and misused nearly $61,000 in client money.

At the time of the announcement, Macaluso denied any willful violation, blaming his staff and saying he was distracted and traumatized at the time by his brother's death.

Casey Anthony is still represented by Kissimmee lawyer Jose Baez, Orlando attorney Cheney Mason, Illinois-based attorney Andrea Lyon and New York-based attorney Linda Kenney Baden.

Anthony is accused of first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, in 2008. Casey Anthony is being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.

Here is something you all might find interesting if you want to know more about her commissary orders what she can and can not order along with who the company is that provides inmates with these privileges you can look at this PDF file link below.  Please note if you want to skip ahead all the mumbo jumbo and get to what type of things she can order start on page 41 and it will continue on.  This PDF is the actual contract between the department of corrections and the commissary network, it's signed and dated.

Where can you see the Casey Anthony hearing Friday morning?

Viewers will get to see Chief Judge Belvin Perry, the new judge in the case, that morning.

A national TV audience can catch the hearing live at 9:30 a.m. on truTV’s “In Session.”

WOFL-Channel 35 will broadcast part of the hearing live during a morning newscast. WKMG-Channel 6 said it will carry the hearing at its Web site, ClickOrlando.com.

When I hear what other stations are doing, I’ll pass that information along.

Coverage will be available at OrlandoSentinel.com as well.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

I don't remember this interview with the A's..

Ran across it on the net while looking for something else.

Anyone see this back in 2009?  The video is at the link below.

Cindy Anthony: Haleigh's Dad Made a Mistake

posted Tuesday, June 16, 2009

http://www.momlogic.com/2009/06/cindy_anthony_haleighs_dad_made_a_mistake.php?page=2

On the anniversary of Caylee Anthony's disappearance, her grandmother lashes out at the father of missing girl Haleigh Cummings.

To mark the anniversary of the last day they saw their grandchild, George and Cindy Anthony granted CBS's "Early Show" an exclusive interview -- the majority of which they used to promote their Caylee Anthony Foundation.

<snipped>

Most outspoken against the Anthonys' newfound calling has been Ronald Cummings, the father of missing Florida girl Haleigh. George Anthony says he initially offered help in the Haleigh Cummings case "to show some support ... moral support." George says he promised to "stand in the background." The mother of Casey Anthony admonishes Cummings for turning down their aid. "To him I say: You made a mistake," she said. "When your child's missing, you can't turn anyone away." Cindy Anthony even dares to give herself credit for netting Cummings national media exposure on the night his daughter disappeared. "We had just got back from [Caylee's] memorial," she says. "We hurried up and made phone calls, desperate phone calls, to people. That was a day I should've just been home worrying about myself."

~~~~~~~~~
re the bolded part above.... Like Cindy had much room to talk, eh?
She disgusts me with her endless plays for sympathy.
I remember that interview. Saw it on The Today Show or Larry King, I think. But I definitely remember it, because it also made me sick.
ORLANDO, Fla. -- One of Casey Anthony’s defense attorneys has filed a motion to officially be removed from the case (read it)
Motion: http://www.wftv.com/pdf/23293111/detail.html
Attorney Todd Macaluso submitted the motion on Monday because he has been disbarred in California. WFTV reported in February when Macaluso left the defense team due to a disciplinary issue with the California state bar.
Casey Anthony is in jail, accused of killing her daughter Caylee Anthony in 2008.
Hi Trim.  Thanks for all the above. You're looking especially cute tonight flitting around.
I don't see how they can claim gender bias.  I'm quite sure that in FL many more men are sentenced to death than women.  If it is biased, it is biased in favor of women.  Nor is it impermissible.  FL law permits the death penalty.  The US  Supreme Court has ruled it is permissible within certain parameters.   These people are grasping at straws.  I hope Judge Perry shoots them down forthwith.
Tks so much Dihanna & Loco, my thoughts are with you as well.
It seems the media is missing the fact that Macaluso seems to have another pending bar complaint that pushed him to willingly give up his license to practice law.    I still want to know where the $70,000 he gave toward Casey's defense came from, how it was expended (same for Lyons).   If Im not mistaken it is prohibited to provide funds for the defense of a case you are litigating, I cannot look for a reference for it right now as Im off to the beauty salon & to pick up a few things that will be needed before the wake, I'll look when I can.
Capp, you are correct.  You are prohibited from providing funds for the defense of a case you are litigating.  How Mack and AL got around this is beyond me.
