Casey Anthony Hearing Concludes
Chief Judge Belvin Perry Presides Over Case

POSTED: 9:32 am EDT April 30, 2010
UPDATED: 10:21 am EDT April 30, 2010
ORLANDO, Fla. --
Chief Judge Belvin Perry has begun his first hearing in the Casey Anthony case on Friday.

Perry started the hearing promptly at 9:30 a.m. in what he called a case management hearing.

Prosecutors asked for a weekly deposition day to help manage the many witnesses involved in the investigation. There are 256 witnesses only 36 have yet been deposed.

Anthony faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

Perry told both sides to be prepared to discuss a deadline for depositions and future motions. He also wanted to move toward pretrial and trial dates.

The new judge also slated May 6 for a defense budget hearing, and he anticipated more hearings on motions for the following week.

Perry asked attorneys on both sides for their thoughts on sequestering a jury during Anthony's trial. The prosecution said they were in favor of that, but the defense had reservations.
Perry said it may be possible to pick a jury from another part of the state and still hold the trial in Orlando. He also had concerns about other districts being able to accommodate the media and large number of witnesses expected during the trial.

However, Perry said the final determination of a location for the trial would not be disclosed until the last possible moment. Outstanding motions will be addressed during a three-day period beginning on May 9.

Perry said when the trial does begin, the case will be heard weekdays and a half-day on Saturday. He expected the trial and penalty phase to last about two months.

Looks like KC is no longer on a stage and in a "courtroom" notice how when she entered and exited there weren't all the hugs and handshakes?  I hope it made an impact on her and she is shaking to her worthless core.

New Judge In Casey Case Holds Hearing
Casey Anthony Charged With Murder In Death Of Daughter

POSTED: Thursday, April 29, 2010
UPDATED: 9:49 am EDT April 30, 2010
Casey Anthony court hearing
Anthony Apologizes In Court
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony on Friday made her first appearance before a new judge in her murder case.
udge Belvin Perry is holding a case-management hearing in courtroom 23 at the Orange County Courthouse.

Perry took over Anthony's murder case after Orange County Circuit Judge Stan Strickland recused himself. Strickland's move followed a defense motion asking that Strickland be disqualified over a friendship with a blogger.

The hearing is an opportunity for Perry to call all the attorneys together to ensure he has the information he needs to get up to speed on the case.

Anthony, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.

Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July 2008. Her remains were found in December 2008 in a wooded area near the Anthony family's east Orange County home.

Anthony, who has pleaded not guilty, is being held at the Orange County Jail on no bond.

Casey Faces New Judge In Court
Friday, April 30, 2010 10:25:17 AM
Reported by Dave D’Marko and Jacqueline Fell

ORLANDO -- Casey Anthony and her defense team were back in court Friday, this time before a new judge.
Belvin Perry was assigned to the trial after Judge Stan Strickland recused himself at the request of Anthony’s lawyers.

The defense said Strickland had an inappropriate discussion with a blogger covering the case.

Some analysts, however, said Strickland’s replacement could be more difficult to deal with as they try to defend Casey against charges of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Perry has been described as a no-nonsense judge, and he has already laid down the law on how he wants attorneys on both sides of the case to act in court.

Friday’s hearing was a merely a formality. Perry got acquainted with the case’s key players and discuss deadlines, including the deposition of all witnesses, as well as deadlines for future motions, and the overall timetable for Casey’s trial.

More importantly, it was Perry’s first opportunity to set the tone for the rest of the case.

Perry has been on the bench since 1989. Earlier in April, he ruled death row inmate David Johnston was not mentally disabled, and could be executed.
He is also presiding over the case of Jason Rodriguez, the man suspected of going on a deadly shooting rampage at his former downtown Orlando office in 2009.

“I couldn’t image a worse combination of a judge you would want presiding over your case, when the death penalty is the ultimate issue you’re trying to avoid,” said Richard Hornsby, a local criminal defense attorney.

Exactly---and he waited until the very end to pull his uncouth, boorish act.  Then he quickly turned to Linda, etc. and pretended as though he was actually correctly them.

Before this case is over, CinCin is going to blurt something out and cause a scene, IMO.  She just cannot help it.
Casey is really " tuned out" isn't she...she looks as though she is a mannequin. OR she is going to stop breathing ... at any moment

I think it's dawned on her she is in serious trouble.

I think she has realized that her parents can't help her and her attorneys can't do diddly for her. I have always believed the BOZO blew smoke up her nose making her believe he could get her off from the beginning and now the CRUNCH is here, she SEES her future.
