IMHO...Misty is a sociopath.  She kept this horrific secret and married the father of this beautiful little girl...lived in that house, took care of Jr.  I am sure they were all "high as kites" probably partying and Haleigh would not stay in the van or go to sleep...something along those lines...so Misty became enraged...hit the girl...too hard this time.  Then, instead of doing the right thing, having such high moral character, these losers cover the crime by disposing of the injured child in the water because to take her to the hospital would have been so much worse...in their minds.

So what if they come looking for the gun/machine gun.  Ron is at work and Misty calls Ron.  They tell Ron hand over the gun or they will take/kill Haleigh. 

Could it be that Ron didn't actually harm Haleigh but due to his lifestyle and friends/enemys put Haleigh in harms way?  It would also be likely Ron knows exactly what happened to Haleigh.

I believe that Ronald did know what happened to Haleigh for a long time. I just finished listening to the LVA that she was given back in August 2009, I believe. That is when she mentioned the deer blood in the van.

When she was asked if Ronald had anything to do with Haleigh missing, she was told her "No" answer was misleading. I think that he didn't have any direct role in her missing, but he knew. Thus, the LVA showing a problem with her answer.

About the deer blood, Misty said, "There was deer blood in the back (referring to the van) from when my brother shot and killed a deer. I can't tell you what kind of blood it was. I am just telling you there was deer blood." <--- around 16 minute mark.

I do know that it was reported that LE confiscated this van early on and had it for analysis for quite a few weeks. I sure would think if there had been any human blood or fluids found in it, they would have found them.

What is bothering me, they keep refering to Misty as Haleigh's "FORMER STEPMOTHER". This bothers me because #1 if Haleigh was killed on that dock like LE believes, then Misty was Haleigh's "DAD'S GIRLFRIEND/DRUG DEALING HO" not her Stepmother.

Sorry for the interruption, this has just bothered me from reading earlier.  BTL JSM

No matter who the perp/s are in this case, the outcome will still be the same, an innocent child has been murdered, a family that loved her will be grieving and the wheels of justice will turn oh so slow... and then the perp will live in hell, then burn in hell. Not knowing who the POI's are, I am hesitant to point any fingers at anyone other than the person who is admittedly the last to see her, Misty Croslin. I do not care who else it turns out was involved other then them paying for the evil deed they have done. There is a lot more I could say at this point, but will not because a family is grieving the loss of a bright and beautiful little girl tonight and I am sure they will continue to do so for many years to come. I hope those who harmed this little angel rot in prison for it.

He's as sick and despicable as the rest of them.

I just pray that the police can get to the bottom of this with all these lies. The police really have had to work extra hard with these people, I don't know how they are doing it, but I believe they will continue until they can get justice for Haleigh.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Joe Overstreet's attorney, Shawn Sirgo, was in Louisiana when Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy released information that police believe Haleigh Cummings is dead. Sirgo's secretary said his office has not been contacted by authorities regarding the new information.

Overstreet is Misty Croslin's cousin, the last person known to have seen Haleigh alive, according to police. Haleigh disappeared in Feb. 2009.

Good points...which means that if Ron knew...he was either involved or they had something on him.  I am not a Ron fan and definitely feel that he endangered these children by having Misty as a babysitter, yet, I feel that if he knew...he would have made good on his promise.

Thanks NRCG...I recall the two having a little meeting   early in the case ... and I thought then I could not believe Ronald had a talk with Joe since Misty accused him of messing with her at one time, and Ronald  did not knock Joe's block off.
