I think the family "just don't like Joe". IDK but replace "Joe" with "Misty" and things make more sense.  I think Joe road along thinking he was "Gonna go get high" and when he got there and saw what was happening--he high tailed out or stayed with the baby.  Just my hunch.

I have many opinions on Ron's involvement.....

Hello, Nuna!

I have enjoyed reading your posts in several threads and want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Cage!

And I think Ronald knew what happened before the 911 call. JMO. Wink

Thank You Brandi!  Somer brought me here, HaLeigh kept me coming back.  (I'll explain that later on...)

I think Ronald knew something before the 911 call, just not the something that was really happening.

Nuna .. then you know I have been with Somer's case since the day she disappeared.

Caylee brought me to SM and I have followed what I can since then.

So sad so many go missing and murdered.

Some one needs to speak for these innocent babes.

I totally agree.  This day and age, things have to change as well.  We have instant info at our fingertips.  It takes a bit to wade through the mud but we have to have people looking for the truths.  And disable the ones without.  It's taking too long to do that at the moment but hopefully things will change.  Our babies need it.

Haleigh's mom: No funeral plans yet

Last Update: 7:51 pm

 Crystal Sheffield Statement (305.4KB)

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- According to the attorney representing Haleigh Cumming's mother, Crystal Sheffield, the family is not in the process of making funeral plans for the girl.

Last week, the Putnam County Sheriff, Jeff Hardy, announced that the Haleigh investigation shifted from a missing persons search to a homicide investigation.

Acting on a tip, crews searched a new area of the St. Johns River in Satsuma.  Potential evidence is being tested at the lab.  No body was found.

Haleigh Cummings disappeared in February of 2009.

Haleigh's father, Ron Cummings, and his ex-wife Misty Cummings are both in jail on drug charges.  Misty's brother, Hank "Tommy" Croslin, is also in jail on drug charges.  According to Croslin's attorney, he is the one who gave the new tip to police to search the St. Johns River.  Police have also been talking to Misty's cousin, Joe Overstreet in Tennessee.  He was taken for questioning and released last week.

So far, the Putnam County Sheriff's has not announced a suspect in Haleigh's homicide.

eeyow, she's running the bus over all her grandkids.

lemme just say this- hear my voice not my keystrokes.

when someone is missing the thought is tragic. We have a board full of that here and people seeking one moment of peace. The pain that the loved one feels not knowing what have become of that child, son, daughter, wife, husband, sister, brother, grandpa, grandma, aunt, uncle or so on and so on.

It's painful. really painful.

when someone is found, maybe, just maybe, the pain is diminished just a little for those that truly care and love.

And sometimes loves is letting someone go.

Thank you Rob.  Your words are strong and gentle.  I have to think knowing is somewhat easier than not knowing.  I just don't have the words to say that like you do.

I am sorry to be the one to say it / break it to you.

It reminds me of a comment that Carpe and I made wayyy back when - during the Caylee case - WE / I would have adopted her.

Flo just said that if Joe molested Misty she must have liked it because she always wanted to hang out with him.

I dropped my slice of pizza when she said it. I think I`ve severely burned my groin!

Brandi, let me start with my admiration for you. And yes, you do deserve a response, a heartfelt response.

I ADMIRE your ability to keep hope alive - it makes my heart feel things it hasn't felt in years. It's true.

I can't imagine how terrible it has been for you over the last few weeks and especially the last few day as all this came tumbling in. I know that you kept the faith.

Hang in there Brandi - and as I know the case will progress, you will be here making sure that Haleigh gets her justice and you will make her proud and all of the monkeys.

Love always!

No apologies Rob. Yes, we all want to know. It's why we are here. I was waiting and watching for something like this. I can now understand why LE said what they said to the family. If they had not found that I would have held out hope.  This is just like Caylee, we all suspected but nothing was released by LE until the forensic evidence came back. Thank you for putting this to rest.

Maybe this is why Ron's brows weren't drawn as he was escorted back out of the bldg. He had a moment of peace, like he now knows for sure?  But now he's got to live with the fact that if he wasn't doing the drug thing, his daughter would still be alive.

Thanks, Rob.  And I think many of us go to the thought that there has to be a good reason to go to such lengths to conceal a body.  I mean something like a visible injury.  Overdose can be blamed on the victim but there is no way to blame an obvious injury on the victim.

The life of another beautiful child taken.  There is no justice in these cases as nothing brings back that child.  She is gone forever and no trail can fix that.  Nothing can and the pain is just unbearable for those who loved her.  I don't agree with the SCOTUS ruling that those under 18 cannot receive the death penalty.  Being tried as an adult should remove that condition IMO.

All the regulars in the Haleigh thread will vouch for the fact that I held out hope Haleigh was alive for much longer than almost anyone. I continued to make "Bring Haleigh Home" and "Keep hope alive for Haleigh" graphics for a very long time.

When Tim Miller said he did not think she was alive, my heart stopped.

But I revived it, thinking we have no evidence yet that she is not alive.

My heart stopped again last Tuesday when LE did their search at the boat ramp. I knew then when they said they had found some evidence.

I just knew they found a bone. In my heart, I knew it.

At that time, I had to let go, Rob.

All the way.

Now I am on a mission for justice.

But that last step was difficult. Very, very difficult indeed.

I had a thought last night, but didn't post as it was too late and my computer was off. Haleigh was wearing clothes, we don't know what clothes. Could they have found some children's clothes in the muck where the cinder blocks were ?
I find it unusual that they transported Misty and Tommy back to jail in the same vehicle. I too was thinking it was a ruse (showing her some bones ), but I can't see PCSD telling them to make funeral plans unless they had alot more than what we are being told. It would be not only cruel, but unethical.
