Me either......I thought she had the most minimal involvement, but DAYUM!!!!!!! If this doesn't send a crystal clear message to the other 3( not DB, because she has no clue about HaLeigh) then nothing does

"Circuit Judge Terry Larue sentenced her to 15 years in prison, the minimum mandatory sentence for the crime. "

Florida Dept Of Corrections:

"Those sentenced to prison in Florida who committed their crimes on or after October 1, 1995 will serve a minimum of 85% of their sentences. This applies to all inmates, regardless of the type of crime they committed. On December 31, 2005, more than three-quarters (80.2%) of all inmates in prison had been sentenced under the 85% law. This percentage represents only those inmates who have every component of their sentence covered by the 85% law. When calculating how much time an inmate will serve in prison you must first calculate 85% of his or her sentence, and then subtract any county jail time already served."

85 percent minimum!!!!!! Damn, they ain't playing.

Thanks, sbm. Nice to see you again Wink

85% .... glad Florida got serious about sentences.

I don't usually comment on this case, but have followed everyday, and I'm just going to say that I hope that they're all shaking in their cells right about now!

There's not going to be any "drug court", or "probation", or even "boot camp" for any of these lowlifes and they all need to tell the truth, whoever it is that's involved, and pray for mercy from the court!

I hope that now they come to realize this is no joke and they're all in trouble, BIG trouble, and just finally tell where that sweet baby girl is!

Let's see 8 counts x 25 = 50 x 85%=2yrs..I'm going to be out in two years

I seriously doubt she even knows what percentages mean...jus sayin

Proud words fall very hard.

Reminds me of this poem by Carl Sandburg:

Look out how you use proud words.
When you let proud words go, it is
not easy to call them back.
They wear long boots, hard boots; they
walk off proud; they can't hear you calling—
Look out how you use proud words.

chin on the ground, chin on the ground, mouth turned sideways, tongue hanging out, laughing on the inside, still thinking much more comin' for the others.  poor Hope, she just got made an example of.  that, or she's gonna get a deal if she plead no contest, cause that sure sounds like a lot of time for the crime

Am thinking the judge threw the book at Hope not only because of this statement to her mom: "if they think I am bad now wait until I get out.", but for these other reasons too:  She hadn't been out long from another charge when she was picked up for this one.  She lied to the court about her *cough* employment.  She showed no remorse.  The judge ignored pleas from her family/friends to be lenient with her, he said that she didn't qualify for the 'youthful offender' deal for leniency.  Soooooo.. am thinking her pleading no contest isn't gonna (didn't) get her very far with the judge either.

Ron certainly looks different with some extra weight on him.  He must really like that prison food!

He really does look different!  Looks good with no mustache.  Much better, IMO.

In those pics at link above, I noticed the scorpion tattoo on his right arm.  Any significance in that, I wonder?

Hi Sunny

he sure has put on some weight, not having any drugs might have helped too. He said if he couldn't sell the 200 take down buy, he would use them himself, I took that to mean he likes pills.

Some are saying on the net that altho Ron was called to testify, they weren't intending to let him testify, that they just wanted him present in court to hear the sentence.

And if true..... then hehe..  hahaha..  LMAO!

They will all go down the same way!

It was never a game.

Every time they opened that yapper is was one more nail in the ol' coffin.

"The prosecution played an audio recording in court of a jail conversation Sykes had with her mother. They claimed it proved her lack of remorse for the crime."
