Receptionist counts how he found the corpse of Stephany Flores

The article Cece posted said that they could only provide a health check, not legal assistance. (I guess butt plug would fall under health check!)  It said that he would have to pay for his own legal assistance, they would not assist in this.  I wonder if they have court appointed defense atty's free of charge, as US does?

Just in Dutch NOS journaal: reporter says it's the TOP news in Peru; everybody talks about it. First because the father is famous and has many relations in the top political networks. And second: because Joran is a Gringo, a rich kid from the west who came to Peru to kill an ordinary Peruvian girl. That is the big shock and anger.

I also heard a talking head yesterday saying there is no jury......3 Judges hear the evidence and decide his guilt or innocence.

IIRC someone said trial by 3 judges is the norm in Peru.

All of this is sounding exactly like the Dutch (Aruban) judiciary.  One judge to decide the extention of the pre-trial detention in Aruba, and in Peru.  And now a panel of 3 judges to decide guilt in Aruba, AND in Peru.

I know things cannot possibly go the way they did in Aruba, but still it gives me the willies.

this is bugging me.....I assume LE in Aruba would have to be working (or say they were) with the FBI to check out anything in aruba......

Neither do I SunnyinTX.  This is why I am convinced that Joran received a head up from Dutch/Aruban authorities and fled Holland/Aruba at the beginning of May prior to the FBI being given the opportunity to take legal action regarding the extortion investigation.

Think about it.  The US Attorney took immediate action when Joran's whereabouts were revealed ... a Chilean jail.

Natalee Holloway's uncle realized that working with the enemy and expecting a positive outcome was very naive.  It was not rocket science that the involvement of Aruban authorities in the Persistence endeavor ... in the unchallenged recovery of the trap's contents ... did not make sense if the presence of FBI observers was not part of the overall plan.

thanks for understanding my concerns....I think Vance doesn't know the extent of the evilness of those pulling the strings in aruba.....what she thinks was helpful might have in fact been more cover up, destroying evidence......I agree that he was given notice to get the hell outta Dodge JMO

I don't think it has anything to do with false information it was the act of getting money for information that was against the law.
Extortion is a criminal offense which occurs when a person unlawfully obtains either money, property or services from a person(s), entity, or institution, through coercion. Refraining from doing harm is sometimes euphemistically called protection. Extortion is commonly practiced by organized crime groups. The actual obtainment of money or property is not required to commit the offense.

thanks...but my concern is not about the extortion......it's about the information he gave that was deemed false....my concern is WHO, WHAT COUNTRY checked out the information..if the FBI asked the LE in Aruba to go check this or that re Natalee who is to say something was not found and destroyed...after all aruba can turn blood into chocolate

Trusting the enemy to reveal the truth regarding what has been part of the initial cover up does not make sense.
