The president, Alan Garcia, publicly thanked his Chilean counterpart Sebastian Pinera, to authorize the expulsion of a citizen of that country Dutchman Joran van der Sloot, a suspect in the murder of the young Peruvian Stephany Ramirez Flores and years before a citizen U.S..
"I thank President Piñera Chile Police and the speed with which they have acted to bring Peru into this alleged murderer. Chile has reacted very quickly and in a spirit of cooperation with Peru, "said the head of state.

He noted that Van der Sloot has to face the murder occurred in Peru and if justice is found responsible for the crime, must serve their sentence in our country.

Joran van der Sloot has denied murdering Peruvian woman Stephany Flores according to the head of the Chilean investigation police, Fernando Ovalle. The 22-year-old, who is also the prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in 2005 in Aruba, has only admitted knowing the woman, reports Peruvian media.

Joran van der Sloot was seen with Ms Flores, the daughter of a well-known business man and racing driver Ricardo Flores, at a casino at the weekend, she was later found dead in a Lima hotel room. Van der Sloot was arrested in Chile on Thursday after a massive police operation.

I'm not sure I can do any better with the translation, but I'd read this a few days ago...  The thought did cross my mind when I noticed the date of the declaration of this "archeological site"...did they do that to prevent a proper search by TES or others?  They used every other excuse in the book...

He draws the attention to a report from 2005, in which the Archeological Museum indicates the future location of the Ritz-Carlton and other parts of the high-rise area are regarded as archeological sites

According to Lampe, the morning newspaper Diario had reported this at the time. According to that article, there are two ways to protect possible archeological findings. “One of those ways is not to build on that location”, says Lampe. “Another method is to carry out a so-called emergency excavation prior to construction.” He warns that valuable information and archeological findings could be lost forever. Lampe further states that the museum prefers the first solution. “Everyone is responsible for halting the construction of the Ritz-Carlton.”

However, in a reaction, head of the Archeological Museum, Arminda Ruiz announces that their recommendations on how to deal with archeological sites, as Lampe quotes from the article of Diaro, do not specifically apply to the current location for the future Ritz-Carlton. “It is not the museum’s priority to protect this site. There are approx. 190 archeological sites on the island”, says Raymundo Dijkhoff, archeologist with the museum. “One cannot protect every site.” He states that from researching that site, it appeared one would not come across many archeological findings. “The possible findings are not important enough to halt the project.”

I really think he stomped on her.  His fists would be all bruised and swollen if he'd used his hands and he'd have had to get rid of a weapon quickly.  Poor girl.  I hope she was unconscience and didn't realize what this monster was about to do.
