I've been lurking and reading for over a year trying to get myself to "let go" but I was very unsuccessful. This is gut wrenchingly bad news, with hopefully terrific results. I hope he finally rots in a horrible prison for the rest of his life. I'm so sorry that this poor girl had to die, but that is on Aruba. Aruba is to blame for the brutal murder of Stephany.

Like it has come around to Joran, so to will it come around to all of you crooked lying assinine Aruban officials who assisted in the coverup of Natalee's death for all this time. That's right, your karma is on it's way as well.

Considering what I have learn in regards to corruption ... I do not trust the "powers that be" in Peru any more than the "powers that be" in Aruba/Holland.  Connections are far reaching.  However I somehow I still  have faith that Joran van der Sloot is going to go down.

The crime occured in Peru.  The crime occured against the daughter of a prominent Peruvian.

It is my contention if Natalee Holloway had been the daughter of a prominent Dutchman/Aruban ... a form of justice against Joran would have prevailed a long time ago.  Natalee would be home resting on American soil.  A family would have received a measure of closure.  A boycott of Aruban would be a non-issue.

Holloway suspect now sought in Peru murder
Wednesday, June 2, 2010.

The victim's father is a 48-year-old former president of the Peruvian Automobile Club who won the "Caminos del Inca" rally in 1991 and brings circuses and foreign entertainers to Peru. He ran for vice president in 2001 and for president five years later on fringe tickets.

Yes, this time the political connections are all on the side of the victim.  The father of this girl can see to it that Joran leads a VERY miserable existence.  He will be the victim each and every day.

Agree!  Thanks to Natalee's family, the whole world knows this loser on sight.  If nothing else comes of it, that alone makes it worth their effort and certainly ours.

I was so heartened by her dad's comments about Natalee. He even stated that God used Stephany as an instrument to bring justice for Natalee. Wow! just a few days from his own loss.

I cried when this man's grace was revealed.  He reached beyond his own desire for justice and ... also embraced Dave and Beth.  I do believe that Natalee's parents have an advocate ... an advocate who is in a position to to pave the way toward a positive outcome in regards to justice for both of Joran's victims.

I was also wondering if Stephany knew who "he" was!  I can't imagine any girl or woman in the world wanting to be with Joran.  He has always creeped me out.

De Chileense autoriteiten kunnen Joran van der Sloot formeel pas in voorarrest plaatsen als ze het internationale arrestatiebevel binnen hebben. Dat heeft het hoofd van de onderzoekspolitie van de Noord-Chileense grensstad Arica donderdag gezegd.

Het lokale hoofd van de politie, Nelson Oyarzún, legt uit wat er nu met Joran van de Sloot gaat gebeuren. Hij laat weten dat zijn gegevens in de hoofdstad Santiago worden genoteerd en zijn identiteit wordt geverifieerd.

,,We kunnen alleen zijn identiteitspapieren innemen en een schriftelijke verklaring afnemen'', aldus Oyarzún. Vervolgens wordt de Nederlander onder een soort huisarrest geplaatst, zodat hij niet kan ontsnappen.

De autoriteiten dachten dat Joran van de Sloot zich in Arica ophield, maar ze arresteerden hem op de snelweg tussen de hoofdstad Santiagio en de kustplaats Viña del Mar. Hij bevond zich toen ter hoogte van het plaatsje Curacaví, ongeveer 35 kilometer ten westen van de hoofdstad.

Chilean authorities can only place JVDS under arrest after they have received the international warrant for his arrest. That's what the chief of police of the border town of Arica declared.
Local chief of police Nelson Oyarazun says that JVDS personalia are being filed and verified.
All we can do is take his identity papers and take a written statement says Oyarzun The dutchman (JVDS) will be placed under a kind of house arrest so that he can not escape.
Authorities believed he was in Arica but arrested him on the highway between Santiago and the beach town Vina del Mar. At that time he was at the village of Curacavi 35 kilometers west of the capital

There were reports that she did flirt with boys in the Casino and I am bet she used that as part of her gambling toolset.  Joran would have no knowledge that she had no intimate interest in men so I am sure he relied on what worked for him before.  The savage beating could have been compounded if she told him that she had no interest in men in that way if he used his self proclaimed smexyness to manipulate her.  I am sure his rage would have been off the charts.   Just some thoughts.
