U.S. Attorney’s office file arrest warrant for Joran Van Der Sloot

BIRMINGHAM, AL-The U.S. Attorneys Office received an arrest warrant against Joran Van Der Sloot on wire fraud and extortion charges.

Money was wired from a Birmingham institution back in May to Joran Van Der Sloot.

Van Der Sloot requested $250,000 in exchange for the whereabouts of Natalee Holloway’s remains and the circumstances relating to her death.

The information he gave was false.

Van Der Sloot was arrested today in Chile for a seperate murder of a young woman.

CNN just reported on TV that an Alabama senator or lawyer has filed charges against jurin for extortion. something about jurin asked for $$$$ in exchange for the wherabouts of Natalee's remains!

Are you kidding?? When was this offer made, I wonder?

They should have gone along with it and then had him arrested for extortion (although I'm sure he was lying).
Wonder why this is just coming to light?

Extradite him for extortion and then cxharge him with murder of U.S. citizen.  After all, how would he know where she was if he was not involved in putting her there.  And we have the death penalty.

but the DP will get him 20 years of appeals...I'd rather he rot in a prison in Peru.

Not in Alabama, it won't.  Virginia, Florida or Texas either.

Just on Dutch NOS journaal a reporter said it will only take a few days (tomorrow or the day after tomorrow) before Jurine will be expelled from the territory of Chile. He will be brought to the Chile - Peru border. So he's not arrested as an official suspect in the murder case of Stephany but only as an illegal alien to speed up the procedures.
The reporter said that in Peru already an arrest team is formed to pick the Evil Prince up at the border.

Excellent!  Maybe then when the Peruvian's get a hold of him instead of handcuffs they'll put him in nutcuffs. 

They've got to find them first...

Beth - Please know it's not your fault.  This monster should have been put away 5 years ago.  You have done everything possible, we have done everything possible.  Aruba and those who protected the monster are responsible.

I would love to see Attacxhment "A" and see if it was actually Beth or if Joran tried Jug, FBI or somebody else.  Surely not even Joran would be dumb enough to contact the FBI with extortion scheme but he is just that cocky since he has never encountered the consequences of his own actions in his life.

The thing i don't understand is why did they not play along and made the 250k payement surely it would make a stronger case if the person accepting the 250K would be JVDS.
The defence will now surely say that it was a prankster or someone impersonating JVDS etc etc

We know it was someone in Birmingham.  My bet is on Beth.  Even if it wasn't Beth I'm sure Joran still killed Stephany on the anniversary out of spite.  It was intentional IMO.
