Man accused of fathering 11-year-old's baby

Police have arrested a 28-year-old Alvin man on aggravated sexual assault of a child charges after authorities confirmed he fathered an infant with his 11-year-old stepdaughter.

The man, whom the Houston Chronicle is not identifying because it would indirectly identify the young victim, was arrested Wednesday and remains in the Harris County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail, the Brazoria County Sheriff's office confirmed.

Officials with the Department of Family and Protective Services said they removed the young mother, and her 7 year-old sister from the home in late November, about three weeks before she gave birth to the child.

“I can confirm we took her and her sibling into custody, and she is living with relatives,“ said spokeswoman Gwen Carter. “They're doing as best as can be expected. They're with some wonderful relatives who are protective and making sure they have everything they need. “

An 11-year-old mom was taken into the custody of Child Protective Services after the agency discovered the she was impregnated by a family member.

The 11-year-old, her baby and the preteen's sibling have been placed with relatives, CPS officials said.

Officials said the 11-year-old's mother allegedly knew of the sexual abuse but did nothing to stop it.

CPS won custody of all three children during a status hearing Thursday.

No other details were immediately available.

DICKINSON, Texas - Dickinson police have found and arrested a woman whose daughter gave birth to a child at the age of 11, the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office has confirmed.

Mirella Garcia Caple is in custody at the Brazoria County jail and bond has been set for her at $100,000.

In early 2010, FOX 26 first learned about accusations of Caple's husband raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter and impregnating her.

Evidence led a grand jury to indict Caple, 36, on the same charge as her husband -- aggravated sexual assault of a child.

A warrant was issued for Mirella Garcia Caple's arrest on Tuesday. She and her husband, Stephen Caple, 28, lived in Alvin with her children.

In 2009, investigators uncovered what they call years of sexual abuse against one of Garcia Caple's daughters.

Court documents reveal that Stephen Caple began raping his stepdaughter when she was just six years old. In 2009, the girl got pregnant around her 11th birthday, and DNA tests confirmed that Caple fathered the child.

In December 2009, the girl she gave birth to a full-term baby.

Stephen Caple was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and arrested in January.

Stephen Caple remains in jail on $200,000 bond awaiting trial.
