I've been to a few casinos in my time...LOL
The Excelsior is a "closet"
The dealers have absolutely no personality, seem quite bored, unhappy.
They all appeared to be "local"

Just wondering why other jobs in Aruba are given to "outsiders"?
Political, media, etc.

Excelsior is very small, and ugly.

I don't notice that the other jobs are given to outsiders. If you find someone who is willing to "sponser" you ( what exactly this entails I'm not certain) you might get a job. Say you went and applied for a job at a newspaper, I guess the owner of the paper would have to say they have tried to find someone to do the job, but you are qualified and for a set time period you are granted a work visa. Are there any Arubians out there who might be able to explain this better than I?

Where did we hear that LVR was questioned?  A reliable source?  How do we know it was true?  If Max provided the alibi, how do we know it was legitimate?  Have we ever seen these statements?  Where did we hear about the parties at his house?  Just asking...again.

ALE....I'm thinking the pics of him with the other people may have been taken right after he was questioned at the Police station.....

Suppoedly, Lorenzo's alibi was Max Arends.
ALE questioned older Max Arendzs in error.

The parties are well known in Aruba.

BBL, keep in mind that we still are not certain who told us about Lorenzo.  It would be nice to pin down the source to see how reliable it is.

I think both Max's were questioned. The older Max=Maxito was Lorenzo's alibi as i recall. He was the airtight alibi.
They also questioned max Arends (Ibi Arends, jorans age)

That sounds right to me Bleached. I remember AG saying she was out of here when she heard the first name, she thought it was her brother.

I know we have heard it said that what went on earlier in the week has no bearing plus Natalee did not ? date anyone while there. I do think it would be nice to know if all we heard is true. I guess I do not think secrets are always for the best.

I was thinking more along the lines of the gay scene for the boyfriend.  I think some monkeys did that theory with Guido and Joran as a pair.  Maybe LVR was in the mix too

BB - I think that's the same rule that most countries have. A foreigner can't get a job unless the employer says that there is no native of that country who can do the job.

Meanwhile, police brought in yet another man for questioning Friday night, FOX News has learned. The man, Max Arends, who is also a friend of van der Sloot, is not a suspect in the case and has not been arrested.

Fox News is reporting that Joran Van der Sloot friend Max Arends was brought in for questioning on Friday night. If I'm not mistaken, this is a second visit for Arends.

after natalee went missing he allegedly took off to the Netherlands for a few months. My question is: Where does he work?

Bleached I think there was a Van Rijn import /export business when we first started talking this case. I do not think it exists any longer. It was on Aruba. Of course we have always heard he was a drug dealer. Who knows?

IMO... IF Natalee met a blued eyed Dutch guy it was Geoffrey.

It was said he works at Brite's Bakery in Savaneta.
Or just his parties bring in income?

His father committed suicide because he was haunted by the "ghost" of a young child that drowned in his pool years earlier.....

I think the import /export I remember was an imported car dealership. Maybe something that he inherited from his father? then there was some mention of Rancho Notorioso do you rember that? ..some ATV place he ran?

The thing that tips my thinking toward LVR is that phrasing, as someone said earlier, "the house of Rave" is capitalized and implies prior knowledge of and/or a reputation IMO. Would Sloots be a party house?

The Sloots could have been a party house because Anita and the other two boys weren't home.

Joran said to Anita if you were home this wouldn't have happened.  I take that as something happening at the Sloot house.  I do not believe Paulus and Joran saying their brothers were home.  They are liars.

I have always thought GVC was a more likely candidate to be somehow involved but truly suspect there are quite a few involved. J2k, GVC and LGW.

Florida I can't keep countering what you say here. But it has Never been said from what I have heard these many months that LVR hangs out with a younger crowd? Except maybe his girlfriend who looks very young.....
I know about PEEPS, and what he wrote. Yet he is the first to have posted the van photo of LVR. Now why would that be if he didn't know him? I think that was information(and I use the term loosely) given to undo what info was given earlier ie LVR being friend with Maxito the car driver.

I never really heard the story about suicide due to haunting by the death of a young child that drowned. But that was never mentioned by the aruba posters that used to post here back in june/july/august 2005.
