THE open-door approach to immigration, which was launched by Tony Blair and Jack Straw in 2001 for economic and social reasons to drive down wages to the minimum wage level, has to be abandoned.

With the worst recession in living memory, we cannot afford to continue with it. We have hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and more than half a million EU eastern Europeans in the UK that we cannot sustain in terms of housing, education and health services.

Quote
Glasgow City Council education department has to provide resources to educate 14,000 children whose first language is not English. Indigenous children are held back and are denied the educational resources that they need.

Many indigenous people in Glasgow and elsewhere are naturally resentful that the massive influx of immigrants increasingly takes away from them shrinking public resources in areas such as housing, education and health. Until now, they have been afraid to speak out in case they were labelled racist by the chattering classes and those with vested interests to protect.

Indigenous people also feel strongly that their culture is being undermined by the likes of Islam, from the closure of public houses in the north of England to the threatened imposition of Sharia law, where there are increasingly high concentrations of Muslim populations.

Multiculturalism has gone far too far, and there is a clear need for more integration of ethnic minorities in our western democratic values, like the French do in that, as a great nation, it ensures that its secular democratic values, such as the freedom of expression, are never undermined.

A cap must be put on immigration in line with the numbers of people leaving the UK each year. This means, in effect, that there has to be zero net migration, and this would include those coming in from eastern Europe. This has been agreed by well-informed academics, and politicians such as Frank Field, MP, hardly raving racists. Such a policy is only common sense.

France and Germany have rightly tightened up on immigration and it is about time the UK did the same, as we cannot financially sustain large numbers of immigrants and would-be asylum seekers when severe financial cutbacks will take place in public services after the General Election.

I believe Oprah's socialist utopia of Denmark paid immigrants to leave and not return.  Little or no immigration into Denmark.

Maybe it's time to change course in the US?

The pre-school Herrgårdens förskola in Malmö had to close down the whole school from today. The reason is that the staff have been threatened repeatedly by criminal youngsters in the area. Also the children have been threatened. Last week an employee was nearly hit by a thrown glass bottle and holes from bullets have been found on the outer walls. The school was located in the troublesome Rosengård area. (SVT-Sydnytt))

Sweden stupidly has opted for multiculturalism, rejecting the assimilation model of neighbouring Denmark, which has one of Europe´s toughest policies on immigration. Almost 12% of Sweden´s nine million people were born abroad - a high percentage compared with other countries in Western Europe and a significant block of voters in Sunday´s general election. Immigration has not figured prominently in the election campaign, as the main parties focused on jobs.

Bring more of these Muslim hoodlams into Sweden and you will have to close down the whole country. How stupid can you get?

What's wrong with building walls and enjoying multi-culturalism from a distance?

Denmark criticised for deporting vulnerable Nordics

Posted on24 April 2010.

The Nordic council has slammed the Danish immigration policy, claiming that fellow Nordic citizens are being unacceptably ousted.

According to the convention agreed upon by the five Nordic countries, citizens from Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland are permitted to reside anywhere within the union without impediment. However, ten Scandinavian citizens were recently deported from Denmark after being declared unable to support themselves.

“It is a problem that everyone does not follow the Nordic conventions and that Nordic citizens are deported because they need social welfare,” said the Nordic Council’s chairman of the citizenship and consumer committee Ville Niinisto, who argued that the Danish behaviour was a clear violation of agreed rules. The Nordic Council has subsequently demanded an explanation from Denmark.

Isn't Denmark Oprah's model utopia?

Maybe Denmark is on to something?

Why should Danish taxpayers be expected to support a Norwegian woman who decides that being pregnant is easier than actually working for a living? The sense of entitlement to other peoples hard earned money is sickening.

Perhaps a welfare sharing agreement could be made between the Nordic countries where the woman’s home country could split the expense with Denmark. Denmark could also demand that the father show up, marry her, and acquire employment so she does not become a long time burden upon either nation. Send him home or cut off his benefits if he refuses to step up and take responsibility.

The adage about the social safety net is especially applicable to this case. “Welfare is meant to be a safety net, not a hammock.”
