Wonderful memory refreshers;  I would love to have heard Greta's private off-camera candid comments after her interview.  LOL

The judge was very strict about moving this all along, so it wouldn't fit in, to give the defense an extension.

I could be wrong but IIRC Judge Perry said he wasn't giving extensions.....of course it might have been one of the talking heads opinions about Judge Perry and extensions in this case.

You're correct in that JS was not removed by higher authority, JS was NOT disqualified, he recused (disqualified) himself.

The actual definition of recuse is: to disqualify or seek to disqualify from participation in a decision on grounds such as prejudice or personal involvement.

Whether the defense used the term technically or a slam, IMHO CJBP will not reverse JS's decisions on these previous motions nor most of the defense motions expected to be repeated.  It is also my view that they have little to no chance to use it on appeal.

In Orlando, Florida yesterday Chief Judge Belvin Perry ruled against Anthony, who is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, at a pre-trial hearing

Anthony's attorneys argued before the judge that prosecutors had gender bias in seeking the death penalty and had produced an expert witness.

The witness said that a mother who is perceived "deviant" by a jury faces a difficult time in defending herself against criminal charges.

AND in another defense motion, "Societal biases against women provide the state with a way of deflecting attention away from the insufficiency of the evidence in Miss Anthony's case."

But the judge wasn't buying what the defense was selling - ruling that if Anthony is found guilty in the murder of Caylee she will face the severest penalty of all - death.

I may be crazy, but wouldn't anyone who kills another be considered deviant?

Today marked the judge-imposed deadline for scheduling witness interviews in the murder case against Casey Anthony.

So far, prosecutors are asking for more time to schedule depositions — questioning under oath — for some defense witnesses.

Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick filed today court papers, saying many of the defense expert witnesses haven't finished their work yet and attorneys for other defense witnesses aren't cooperating.

Anthony, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee. The 2-year-old was reported missing in July 2008 and her remains were recovered five months later in woods near her family home.

Her defense team claims someone other than Anthony placed the girl's body in the woods. They have not identified who or when that occurred.

There are hundreds of witnesses involved in the case. Earlier this month, Orange-Osceola Judge Belvin Perry ordered the attorneys on both sides to schedule the remaining depositions — more than 50 witnesses.

For defense expert witnesses, Burdick wrote in the two-page motion that the state asks permission to file a schedule within 10 days after the witnesses finish their work or by the end of November.

She also writes that the state has tried to set up interviews but have had no luck with defense witnesses related to Roy Kronk, the former meter reader who found Caylee's remains on Dec. 11, 2008.

It's unclear if the defense has filed its deposition schedule today.
n other Anthony news, Perry outlined a schedule for the ten pending motions related to the death penalty.

He will address issues about jury instructions before the jury begins to deliberate. Perry also ordered the state to respond to five defense motions related to whether the death penalty is unconstitutional.

ORLANDO -- The state is asking for more time and the judge continues to put deadlines on attorneys in the Case Against Casey Anthony.

Judge Belvin Perry wants the defense and state to give him a schedule of when they will take depositions.

Prosecutors say they’re having difficulties because the defense hasn't provided a list, defense attorneys will not cooperate or they're still working on the case and can't be questioned.

Meanwhile, Judge Perry continues to place deadlines when it comes to any motions concerning the death penalty.

The state will have until June 16 to file a response to the motions. Then the defense will have until the end of June to reply.

She is just so cute. OMG, I would have loved her every precious minute of my life.
It's heart wrenching to think of her reduced to bones when you look at these pictures.
