I am really getting pissed now.. I say no plea deals for anyone sitting in Jail until and they come out and say the truth what happened to Haleigh.

And I was reading up on Bail Bondsmans and how was it that Chuck bailbonds was allowed to do business in Putnam County they had to know they were illegal in the way they were doing business.  I also found out they are cracking down on bail bondsman..ex.

RALEIGH, NC –The North Carolina Department of Insurance has announced the arrest of two bondsmen, Jamie Rebecca Taylor, and Anthony Taylor, who are married and in business together. The arrest comes after allegation that Jamie Taylor used two unlicensed bondsmen, her husband and a man named Ricky Thomas, to apprehend a suspect. The two bondsmen have been released on $500 bonds each and a warrant has been issued for Thomas. In the past two years, The North Carolina Department of Insurance has reported a 66% increase in unlicensed bail agents and has stated that it will be cracking down on offenders.

Guilty plea in drug case for woman with ties to Haleigh Cummings case
She is scheduled for sentencing Sept. 1.

By Dana Treen

A 44-year-old woman with connections to the case of missing Haleigh Cummings has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking in St. Johns County.

Donna M. Brock of Orlando was recorded in an undercover investigator's car with Misty Croslin, who called police when 5-year-old Haleigh disappeared in February 2009.

The two were arrested during a monthlong sting that resulted in the arrest of five people in separate drug buys, including Haleigh's father Ronald Cummings.

Brock and Croslin were charged with trafficking at least 28 grams of oxycodone in a sale involving 155 pills for $800 in January, according to charging documents. Today, Brock pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of trafficking in between 14 to 28 grams of the drug, according to court records.

She is scheduled for sentencing Sept. 1. The reduced charge carries a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years, according to state guidelines.

Brock befriended Croslin during the search of Haleigh, who has still not been found and who investigators with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office have said they believe is dead.

UF lab examined remains in search for Haleigh Cummings
Experts determined a bone wasn't of the missing girl, but was a Native American's

Last Modified: Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 11:46 p.m.
( page of 3 )

As it turns out, human remains were found in the St. Johns River by law enforcement scuba divers searching for Haleigh Cummings in April - but they weren't those of the missing 5-year-old.

They were a lot older, as in an American Indian who lived along the river hundreds of years ago - a determination made by the experts in bones at the University of Florida's C.A. Pound Human Identification Lab.

"Those divers found a human bone, it just wasn't (Haleigh)," said Mike Warren, the lab's director. "You dive in a river with that many people, and you expect to find bones out there. The bones of Native Americans are still here."

Bones are Warren's business. He heads a laboratory that is a national leader in the identification of human remains and is on pace to become the first nationally accredited and certified forensic anthropology lab in the U.S.

The lab has been involved in high-profile criminal cases including those of Haleigh and Caylee Anthony - the Orlando 3-year-old whose mother is facing murder charges in her death. It also has been involved in cases of international significance in trying to identify remains of the family of Russia's last czar, Nicholas Romanov.

And Warren says he has memorized the dental structure of Tiffany Sessions, a University of Florida student who disappeared in 1989, so he can easily identify her should remains be found.

But standing in a long, narrow, brightly lit lab with table after table laid out with human remains, Warren said the staff and students who work there pay just as much attention to the unidentified skeleton that has been stumbled upon in the woods as they do to the sensational cases that are on television every night.

"We treat all of our cases as high-profile cases," Warren said. "They are still the remains of somebody who had family."

A human body has 206 bones - more or less in some cases - and Warren can identify all of them. So adept is Warren that he can pick out the most minute ear bone from the ashy remains of a cremated person.

The lab receives human remains that are skeletonized, decomposed or are burned or fragmented beyond recognition.

A skeleton analysis is done to develop a biological profile - gender, approximate age, race. Anomalies are noted - any bones that had been broken, dental features, evidence of disease.

The report will be given to law enforcement, which will try to match the findings to an unidentified missing person.

For three days in mid-April, dozens of divers and deputies from several area agencies searched for remains of Haleigh off a boat ramp in the St. Johns River. Among the daily convoy of vehicles was a small, white pickup with decals identifying the Pound lab.

Most of what the divers found was easily identified, most notably a deer skeleton that was erroneously reported to be a human skeleton by some television media.

Warren said identifying and determining the age of human bones or fragments is not difficult for Pound staff.

"We look at bones for thousands and thousands and thousands of hours. We know what every little piece of human bone looks like. If I can't recognize it, it's not human," Warren said. "A lot of it is an experience type of thing. There are some twists - if you don't smell any decomposition, you could put a flame under (a bone) and if you smell hair burning, that means there is collagen in the blood. In Florida, that takes about a year to leech out."

Warren said the lab was involved with earlier searches for Haleigh, including unearthing a horse carcass on a relative's property to ensure that no human bones were there.

Putnam County Sheriff's Lt. Johnny Greenwood said having the lab nearby is a big asset to law enforcement, saving local agencies time and money.

"They are very helpful to be able to identify bones very quickly to eliminate us from having to take the time to send them off to a lab," Greenwood said. "When they do respond to a scene, it expedites the search. You can rule out animal bones very quickly."

The Gainesville Police Department and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office are chipping in $14,000 each in drug seizure money to buy the lab equipment for dental X-rays.

GPD Sgt. Martin Krpan, who heads the forensic unit, said the lab has assisted GPD in several cases. In one, lab employees were able to determine the angle at which a bullet struck a man's head to rule that he died from a self-inflicted wound.

Lab Graduate Analyst Traci Van Deest, holding a reasonably fresh-looking skull, pointed to a thin crack in the jaw - evidence of some sort of trauma. It is that kind of detail that helps police and provides the thrill of the find that forensic anthropologists dig.

"The challenge of figuring out the puzzle - putting all of the pieces back together as a skeleton - is something that I think we all enjoy," Van Deest said. "We know that there is an answer that we can strive for."

Wow, TY Nut. That was really interesting. I  knew they had found bones and am glad that they weren't Haleigh's.  Good to know that a bone expert is near.

I am still holding out that she may still be alive.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Putnam County investigators said a human bone that was found in the St. Johns River in April did not belong to Haleigh Cummings.

The bone is that of a long-dead Native American, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Investigators said the discovery is not that unusual, given the number of Native American burial grounds in Putnam County.

The determination was made by the Forensic Anthropology lab at the University of Florida, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Investigators searched the river for several days in April in connection with the Haleigh case. They said they found two cinder blocks, which were sent to a lab to be tested.

At the time, Sheriff Jeff Hardy said Haleigh, the 5-year-old girl who disappeared from her Satsuma home in February 2009, was likely dead, and the investigation had moved from a missing person case to a homicide investigation.

Misty Cummings, Haleigh's former stepmother and the last person investigators said saw Haleigh the night she vanished, was seen at the river being questioned by investigators during their search.

Investigators said they got a tip that led them to the Shell Harbour Road Boat Ramp, a place they had not searched before. Sources have told Channel 4 the tip came from Hank Croslin Jr., Cummings' brother.

Misty Cummings, Hank Croslin Jr. and Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's father, are all in jail on drug charges unrelated to the Haleigh case.

Now I wonder what if anything else was found of HaLeigh's during the St. John's River search that would have made Sheriff Hardy declare the area a crime scene and and change the case into a homicide.

Putnam Police: Human Bone Recovered from St. Johns River, Doesn't Belong to Haleigh Cummings

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office today released a statement about a human bone recovered during an April 2010 underwater search at the boat ramp on Shell Harbor Road.

The release said a human bone was recovered, but through lab testing it was determined that the bone is most likely that of a Native American.

Mike Warren, a certified forensic anthropologist, said it's not uncommon to find bones belonging to Native Americans in the St. Johns River area due to the large number that once settled there.

Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her father's home in Satsuma in Putnam County in February 2009. She was 5. Searches have turned up nothing in her case. The sheriff's office said Haleigh's case is still considered an active criminal investigation.

"Just because we have not found it now, doesn't mean we won't in the future," said Putnam County Lt. Johnny Greenwood.

If you know any information that could help investigators, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477). You can remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward.

Bone found near Satsuma not Haleigh's

Sheriff says discovery in April is most likely Native American
Posted: June 21, 2010 - 3:09pm
By Dan Scanlan

A human bone found in the St. Johns River during the April search off a boat ramp near Satsuma did not belong to missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, according to Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy.

During the April search of the river near the Shell Harbor ramp, divers did recover a bone. Reviewed by Mike Warren, a forensic anthropologist at the University of Florida’s C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory, determined it to be human.

But Warren’s investigation showed the bone is most likely from a Native American, many of whom once lived in the area, and not that of the 5-year-old girl, missing since February 2009, Haleigh, her 4-year-old brother and Misty Croslin were asleep in a Satsuma mobile home when the girl vanished while her father was at work, authorities were told. The boat ramp where divers searched in April was close to where Croslin’s parents lived on Magnolia Drive before Haleigh disappeared.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office received numerous requests for information and interviews after a story published Monday in the Gainesville Sun reported Warren’s findings about the bone being human. The sheriff clarified the information later Monday, emphasizing the bone was old and not recent to clear up any misunderstandings.

The sheriff said the case is still considered an active criminal investigation, so specific information regarding items recovered during searches cannot be discussed at this time.
