God watch over our children and keep them safe.

I originally posted this in the Lounge, but found it more appropriate here.  Please add other positive stories here, so we can all see what we are accomplishing, since the MSM won't show it.  A picture speaks a thousand words!

This is something you will never see in the news. Here's a tough, but heartwarming story and a picture of John Gebhardt in Iraq . His wife, Mindy, related that this little girl's entire family was executed. They intended to execute her also and shot her in the head, but they failed to kill her. She was cared for by John's hospital and is healing, but has been crying and moaning. The nurses said John is the only one she seems to calm down with, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both sleep in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

*He is a real Star of the war and is representative of what America is trying to do. Please keep this going. Nothing will happen if you don't. The American public needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that what we're doing over there is making a difference. Even if it is one little girl at a time.

It warms my heart to see that and I suspect he misses his family and someone to share his affection with as well, so this is likely a positive for he and this poor little girl.

We need to honor our servicemen and their contributions and stand behind them.

What a sad yet beautiful touching story. I hope the little girl will be placed with a loving family that can care for her as their own.

God works through many people in many ways. We are truly blessed to be Americans.

God bless~

I was wondering about where she will go too.  Who knows, maybe he'll send/take her home with him.  His wife originally posted that after recieving it via email.  After seeing that, if it were my DH, I would tell him to bring her home!

Yes, we Americans are blessed and need to protect those blessings!

Dearest Di,

Thank you so much for those photos. They are more than poignant. The last one with the soldier kissing the letter ... that one really got me.

With Love,

These photos are so inspirational and heartfelt to me.  I wish there was a way to show them to everybody on SM and I didn't know where to post them.  I feel they belong here and also close to the Prayer thread, as we should be be praying for all these wonderful, brave people!
