Taylor police have charged two people in connection with a 7-month-old girl who tested positive for methamphetamine.

Ashlie Woods, the girl’s mother, and Bobby Kellum were both charged Monday with abandoning or endangering a child, according to arrest warrants.

Child Protective Services arrived for an investigation at the child’s house in the 400 block of Annie Street in Taylor on April 21 and found methamphetamine inside the house, according to an arrest warrant.

The drug was found close to the baby’s crib and within the baby’s reach, the warrant said. Kellum, who shared a bedroom with Woods and the infant, was holding the baby in his arms when the investigator arrived, according to the warrant.

Police arrested Woods and Kellum that day, the warrant said. A hair follicle drug test later indicated that the infant tested positive for methamphetamine.

Kellum, 24, was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and is in the Williamson County Jail on $20,000 bail, records show.

Woods, 23, posted $9,000 bail for the child endangerment charge and was released from jail, according to jail records.
