ISpy - awesome post, love it.  Y'all correct me if I am wrong, but somewhat off topic except for comparison purposes, what if anything has been heard from Anita Van Der Sloot since all this went down?  I remember her saying that she had not seen nor had she spoken to Joran since the day his father was buried and she had no further comment.  As far as I know she has not traveled to Peru nor has she said anything else of which I am aware.  We all know how she defended her "delicious sporter" after Natalee's disappearance and many feel that like Cincin, she had some direct role in either the murder or the cover-up.  I'm just wondering if I missed her statement or if there really is silence coming from that arena.  If so, at least she has the good sense to keep her yap shut when her kid turns out to be a monster.....unlike some other individuals.

**SNIPPED***

Hey, Hold it!! Don't pick up that soap box just yet.  How about the pastor of the church where Cindy held her Casey lovefest/Cindy extravaganza?   How could a man claiming to be representing a religion allow a fiasco to take place in his church? And how could he allow someone to deny admittance to a church on Cindy's say-so?  How could he allow Cindy free rein to practice spite and hatred?   Aren't churches open to all?  I hold him in contempt.

Evening, all!  ITA Babybear, the pastor of the church where Cindy held her production (aka "Caylee's Memorial"), gets no passes from me. Banning people  (aside from those who've made verfiable, documented threats-stalking/domestic violence/rival gang activity) wasn't acting like Jesus and I'm pretty sure God was not honored in that decision...Cindy Anthony was.  Seriously, Do Not Admit lists with pictures?!!  Let's see, if memory serves me correctly, there was no Do Not Admit list to the Last Supper and Jesus (of all people) had a good reason.  I can understand the pastor not wanting the sanctity of the service being disrupted, but that was no service, it was a production and a plea on Casey's behalf.  I could have eulogized Caylee far better and I'm a long way from FL!  I have a hard time believing that since Cindy made all the arrangements and wrote the whole thing, the pastor and board were completely in the dark about the content.  Few, very few, churches will allow non-members to hold any kind of service (wedding, funeral, baptism, funeral, or memorial), without viewing and approving the contents first to ensure they meet the church's belief statements.  Maybe the pastor had a lapse in judgement or perhaps he was snowed by an "emotional" Cindy Anthony.  Clearly, he didn't have as much info as SM did.  I think he may have sincerely thought the Anthonys were grieving, misunderstood grandparents (as they sought to portray themselves) and he genuinely was trying to minister to them, ease their "pain".  By the time it was all said and done, I'm pretty sure he regretted his choice because after the memorial, his and the church's silence was deafening.  JMO

If their daughter is still the innocent party
why didn’t they ask for help looking for the
real killer during the interview?

Bulls-eye, Desi!  That one's going to leave a mark!  Here's the thing, lying can't defy logic.  Seems the Anthony camp and the defense have forgotten to look for the "real killer", as they haphazardly rush to mitigate punishment...for a crime their client/daughter "didn't do".  Closing the barn door after the horses have gotten out, most definitely.  I'm amazed (and somewhat concerned) that these college-educated defense attorneys are making rather large strategical mistakes.  Maybe it's my naivete, but I have always been under the impression that attorneys needed to have excellent critical thinking and reasoning skills.  I'm not seeing that in this defense team, so far.  How some of the defense experts in their field, having such seemingly larger-than-life reputations, can miss such a basic tenet of defending their client is beyond me.  In Andrea Lyons case, her defense style generally consists of hiding the crime, using a smokescreen of "constitutionality" and "prejudicial" claims.  It's the slight of hand trick, distract attention away from the actual case and divert it to a contrived secondary issue.  JMO

Hi ISpy and Cookie---How about this:  Maybe the minister was "Starstruck?"  Maybe he thought of Cindy as some sort of media celebrity and wanted some for himself? Get his church on national TV? I don't know.  Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the whole thing was wrong.  A real, respectful memorial service is one thing, but an amateur production complete with Cindy taking the mic to say "Goodbye Caylee Marie" was tacky and not in keeping with a memorial service for a murdered child.  Not to mention the smack, smack, kiss, kiss, "CMA. CMA you taught me how to live," smack, smack, kiss, kiss, "CMA, CMA."
A two year old child could not have taught Lee how to live, but a skank of a sister might have.  Whatever this display was, it wasn't a memorial for Caylee, but an exercise in egoism for Cindy and a "Get-out-of-jail-free" production for Casey.  It had no place in a church.

By the time this service or whatever it was was held, Casey was charged with murder, Caylee's remains were found and apparently cremated.  All of Orlando and most of the world knew the story and there is no doubt in my mind that the minister of that church knew too.  If he didn't, he certainly should have before he allowed a Christian church to be used as a background to satisfy Cindy's desire for publicity, money, freeing a murderer, and amateur theatricals.

And Cindy says she will "Walk through the gates of heaven."  Well, it's not my decision to make about that, but from what I know of what is required to live a Christian life, she doesn't qualify.  Murder, lying, honoring your parents---all biggies.  And then there's false witness, as in perjury.  She's disregarded several of the big ten-o.  All IMO, of course.

And the "Do not Admit" list was Cindy's revenge.  If I were on that list, I'd consider it an honor.

Something really grabbed me today during the trinket and tattoo exhibition and explanation. I have had many friends and family leave this world for the next. Never have I felt the need to wear their name or ashes on my skin or in a locket. I have felt that the best way to honor them is with my life. I am not perfect and make many mistakes but I own them and try to learn from them and do better the next time. I think they would be pleased with that approach. This exhibition by these spiritually bankrupt grandparents screams to me of the guilt they feel. It can never bring the satisfaction that only comes from doing the right thing.

I agree with you, I'd be honored to have made Cindy's list.  That would mean I was doing my job, digging for the truth for Caylee.  I was appalled at the pre-production antics by Cindy Anthony, but far more appalled at the way the church allowed the whole spiel.  What a smack in the face to Jesus, who loved the children and said, "Let them come to me and do not hinder them.".  Perhaps the "service" that occurred was not the one pre-approved?  One would only hope.  Because the production that occurred certainly did nothing to heal the community (If that was the church's intention), nor did it in any way honor the victim (lauding the sole suspect).  IMO, as the true nature of this production became apparent, the pastor should have immediately stopped the farce and security should have escorted the Anthonys to his office where any monies should have been promptly refunded (if, in fact, any changed hands). They should count themselves blessed that the crowd didn't riot and angry mobs didn't march on the church.  All MOO.

Thanks, ccndixie!  I'm just like everybody else here, righteously indignant at everything that has gone on in this case for Caylee's sake and indescribably angry that Caylee was so objectified by the people she was entrusted to.  I'm going to leave it at that.

Cindy Anthony’s Image Is Made Over But Her Body Language Shows Signals of Deception and Denial By Refusing To Identify With Anita Van der Sloot

Thanks, Puzzler!

I love how this started:

"CINDY ANTHONY’S IMAGE MAKEOVER: Outer image makeovers to make someone more attractive and likeable only work if the person is attractive and likeable on the inside to begin with. That is clearly not the case with Cindy Antony, mother of  Casey Anthony. who is accused on murdering Cindy’s grand daughter Caylee."

hahaha. So right!

Cindy said that she had never seen Casey be angry or something to that effect, as to accidentally hurting Caylee ...well, we all saw it on that jailhouse visit with George and Cindy where Casey got so angry cause they wouldn't let her talk...shaking her fist..that was pure anger! I didn't see this  interview this morning..was watching the wrong show...grrr...so thanks for the links and articles!

Cookie, I do believe Dr. Lillian Glass reads Scared Monkeys! Look what she said in her article:

"In fact she said to Ashley, “You know, there have been issues where she saw his angry side. I don’t know that of Casey. I don’t know Casey as being anybody that could hurt anybody.”

Cindy must have a very short memory. There certainly were instances where Casey went off on her mother and got very angry.

She just needs to go back and look att he jailhouse tapes. Casey is absolutely livid with Cindy. It looked as though Casey was so angry, that  if she could get through the glass partition, she may have smacked Cindy."

I always suspected she got some of her material from SM. LOL

Grandparents Pay Tribute to Murdered Granddaughter
Yesterday marked two years since George and Cindy Anthony last saw their granddaughter Caylee alive.
Since then Caylee's body was discovered near their home their own daughter charged with murder.
And they have been caught in the crosshairs of a public feeding frenzy.

Their daughter,Casey, in solitary lockup, now facing the death penalty.

George and Cindy wear jewelry in tribute to two-year-old Caylee and say its heart-breaking to say they'll never see her again.

Anthonys: Last 2 Years Unbearable
Couple Talks About Ordeal On National Morning Show
By Amanda Ober, Staff Writer
WESH.com
updated 3:18 a.m. CT, Wed., June 16, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. - WESH.com

It's been two years since George and Cindy Anthony last saw their granddaughter alive.

the couple marked the anniversary of Caylee Anthony's disappearance on Tuesday by talking about their ordeal on "Good Morning America."
The last two years have been unbearable", George said.

The couple shared that they both wear jewelry to honor Caylee's memory, and George Anthony has even gotten a large tattoo over his heart that depicts Caylee looking toward heaven with the words "My Sunshine" underneath.

The couple's daughter, Casey Anthony, is accused of murdering Caylee and is currently in solitary confinement in jail awaiting trial. She faces the death penalty.

Recently, letters Casey exchanged in jail with another inmate were released, and in those notes, Casey Anthony alleged she had been sexually abused by both her father and her brother, Lee Anthony.

When asked how they felt about those letters, Cindy Anthony said, "I read the letters. I read them all. It was very hurtful for George."

But the couple said they still stand by Casey, and their love for their daughter is unconditional.
Cindy Anthony admitted that Casey misled investigators but said, "A liar doesn't make you a murderer."
