Katy mom finds teen son stabbed to death in home
May 21, 2010

A Katy woman arrived home early this evening to find her teenage son bound and dead from apparent stab wounds, authorities said.

She discovered the body of her son, 18, shortly before 7 p.m. in the living room of their home in the 600 block of Copper Creek, officials said.

“It appears there had been some kind of a struggle,” said Assistant Chief Terry Thurman with the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office.

Although the woman and a neighbor both attempted CPR, the teenager was dead at the scene, officials said.

There were no signs of forced entry into the two-story brick home, officials said.

Precinct 5 officials said they have not identified any possible suspects.

Katy mom finds teen son stabbed to death in home

A Katy woman arrived home early Friday night to find her teenage son bound and dead from possible stab wounds, authorities said.

She discovered the body of her son, 18, shortly before 7 p.m. in the living room of their home in the 600 block of Copper Creek, officials said.

It appears there had been some kind of a struggle, said Assistant Chief Terry Thurman, with the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office.

A construction worker was waiting for his boss in the area when the woman arrived.

"When the mother came home, he heard (her) scream when she went inside the house," Thurman said. "He helped her dial 911."

Investigators said the teenager, whose name has not been released, was on his stomach when he was found. Officials didn’t say what materials the assailant used to tie his hands together.

The mother and the construction worker rolled the body over and began CPR. But the teenager was already dead, officials said.

Harris County sheriffs detectives and crime scene specialists were at the scene late into the night. The motive remains under investigation. There were no signs of forced entry into the two-story home, officials said.

A neighbor told investigators he saw a suspicious car between 3 and 4 p.m. making several passes in front of the home before the teenager’s mother arrived, authorities said.

As darkness fell Friday, a handful of neighbors looked out with concern at the growing crime scene in front of the home. They said the residents had lived there for no more than a year.

Authorities: Teen fatally shot in Katy home
May 22, 2010

A teen whose bound body was discovered in his Katy home Friday night died from a gunshot wound.

Joshua Guajardo, 18, was found shortly before 7 p.m. in the 600 block of Copper Creek Drive.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case as a homicide, according to a news release issued Saturday afternoon.

Deputies received an emergency call Friday evening about a possible stabbing victim. They arrived at the home to find a young man receiving treatment from emergency medical workers.

Deputies met with the teen's parents, who said they arrived home and found the victim unresponsive inside the residence. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

Officials said Friday night that there were no signs of forced entry into the two-story home, but there appeared to have been a struggle. Guajardo was found on his stomach, an investigator on the scene said, and his hands were tied together.

The teen would have turned 19 on Sunday.

The investigation continues, though no motive has been determined for the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office homicide unit at 713-967-5810 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).

Death of Katy teen remains under investigation
June 14, 2010

Harris County Sheriff's deputies are continuing to investigate the murder of 18-year-old Joshua Guarjardo who died from a gunshot wound almost two weeks ago.
Sheriff's officials have no new information about the incident and no suspects in the death of the Morton Ranch High School graduate but deputies are investigating the crime as a homicide.
(snip)
Deputies have not said whether the incident was random or if the teen was targeted. A picture of Guajardo along with flowers have been placed next to the tree in his family's front yard.

There currently is no motive for the shooting. More information about the incident is available on the Harris County Sheriff's Office's Web site link to homicide press releases, which will be updated as information is released.

The family has set up a fund with Bank of America to raise money for a reward to capture Guajardo's killer. Guajardo's mother said donors can go to any Bank of America and make a donation to the "Joshua Guajardo Memorial Fund - Business Account."

"We are still raising money for the reward for Joshua's killers," Duhon said.

Information about Guajardo's death has been added to his Facebook page, which is being updated by his mother.

Not a new article, but has more information.  I have no proof, but I wonder if this crime was drug related.  Were there drugs fronted, money missing?  Why would four men break into a home and then try to intimidate Joshua?  They tied him up shot him in the leg, three times in the back and once in the neck, with the final shot killing him.  What was it they wanted?  The neighborhood isn't real high dollar.  If the four men broke in and found a teenager, why not just tie him up and burglarize the place?  Why tie him up, shoot him in the leg?  And then shoot him in the back?  And then shoot him in the neck.  All for burglarizing a residence?  It doesn't make sense.

 ::snipping2::
Duhon said that the suspect along with three other men entered her home with intentions to burglarize the residence. When they found her son home, they tied him up and tried to intimidate him.
"(The suspect) shot my son in the leg, shot him three more times in the back and one more time in the neck and that's what killed him," Duhon said.

Arredondo-Robles, a 26-year-old Mexican native, is wanted for parole violations in Georgia. Duhon said people in the area believe he is on the run and may return to the Katy area or the Braeswood area where he also has connections.
The suspect would often go by the name Carlos, or his nickname of Spider, and has several tattoos, including one on his left arm, some on his scalp, on his back and on his legs.
The other suspects have no identifications or descriptions but go by the street names of TLC, Mickey and Tela. Three suspect vehicles were seen at the time of the crime and include a black pick-up truck, brown passenger car and white Lincoln.
Duhon is committed to seeing the suspects caught and has set up a reward fund through Bank of America. Crime Stoppers is also offering a cash reward of $5,000 to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Muffy, sometimes they shot people for fun and/or to leave no witnesses.
Hopefully the family will get some answers soon.

Sadly, you may very well be right Sister.  People shooting others "...for fun and/or to leave no witnesses."     This young man's murder was very cruel and painful.  The shooter/shooters made sure he suffered.
