Hank Croslin Jr. Sentenced To 15 Years
Croslin Pleaded No Contest To Drug Charges

POSTED: Friday, August 6, 2010
UPDATED: 11:40 am EDT August 6, 2010

PALATKA, Fla. -- One of the key figures in the Haleigh Cummings investigation was sentenced Friday morning on drug charges.

Hank Croslin Jr., who pleaded no contest to two trafficking charges after being arrested in January during a drug sting operation, was sentenced to 15 years in prison, 10 years of probation and a $50,000 fine.

Croslin was arrested in January, along with his sister, Misty Cummings, his ex-brother-in-law, Ronald Cummings, and two other people.

Authorities said the drug charges the family members are facing are not related to Haleigh's disappearance. Ronald Cummings' 5-year-old daughter went missing from her Satsuma home in February 2009. Misty Cummings, briefly Ronald's wife, was the last person known to have seen Haleigh Cummings before she disappeared.

The kindergartner's body has not been found, but the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said earlier this year it believes she was killed and considers the ongoing case a homicide investigation.

tiny 4 logoChannel 4 had a crew in the courtroom for the sentencing hearing. This story will be updated as more information is available, with a full report on the local station at noon.

Tommy Croslin Sentenced to 15 Years For Drug Trafficking

TJ Hart

A key figure in the disapperance of missing Satsuma girl Haleigh Cummings was sentenced Friday in Putnman County on drug trafficking charges.

Hank  Thomas "Tommy" Croslin Jr. was sentenced to 15 years in prison, 10 years of probation and a $50,000 fine after pleading no contest earlier to trafficking oxycodone and hydrocodone following his arrest in January with his sister Misty Croslin, her ex-husband Ronald Cummings, Hope Sykes and Donna Brock in part of a multi-agency drug sting.

Misty Croslin babysat and is the last person to see Haleigh Cummings before she vanished from the mobile home where the child lived with her brother, her father Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin in February of 2009.

Despite thousands of tips, the child has not been found and her case was recently changed to a homicide investigation.

In June, both Tommy and Misty were spotted at a dock at Shell Harbour with investigators along the St. Johns River in Putnam County where divers and crews were observed taking items out of the water.

The Croslin's maternal grandmother Flo Hollars claims Tommy told her duirning a phone call from jail where the body of Haleigh Cummings was dumped and also claimed that Misty concured to a degree the same story.

Nor did he think that he would be facing an enormous debt upon his release ... into a life of 10 yrs probation.

I sure don't understand the reasoning of the courts to impose such a large amount of fine .. why not just increase their sentence ... as these fines will never be paid in full.

I know, that never makes sense to me, most people would never be able to pay off those types of fines.

Not sure, but they may be mandatory.

I'll check into that.

Hank 'Tommy' Croslin Jr. sentenced to 15 years
Judge says Haleigh Cummings case not an influence

PALATKA - Hank 'Tommy' Croslin Jr., whose family became enmeshed in the high-profile case of missing Haleigh Cummings, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for trafficking prescription drugs.

Croslin's parents, jailed on separate drug charges were in the courtroom as witnesses, as was his ex-wife. His father and former wife testified for him during the two hour hearing.

The family has been closely tied to the 18-month-old Haleigh case but Circuit Judge Terry LaRue said the Croslin's offer to help detectives solve the mystery of her disappearance carried little weight in his decision.

The only connection LaRue said he was willing to make was that Croslin would continue to deal drugs as an intense invesigation was going on to solve the disappearance.

"Mr. Coslin is a drug dealer, pure and simple," LaRue said before imposing the sentence. He also sentenced Croslin to a concurrent 5 years in prison in a possession case.

Croslin showed little emotion at the end of the two hour hearing, saying simply, "God's with me," as they took him down the hall from the courtroom.

Croslin, who turned 24 this week, told the judge he has been involved with drugs since he was 12 and became addicted to pills after moving to Putnam County.

He lived with his wife and three children in Satsuma and was a block away from the mobile home where Haleigh was living before she vanished Feb. 10, 2009.

Good Afternoon Monkeys and Guest!

Yes..... there is a God. I can bet you Tommy peed his pants when the sentence was passed down. I am more surprised he didn't start blabbing all that he knew about Haleigh's murder.

I hope Lindsey straightens her life out and provides a different environment for her 3 kids. But from some of the pics we have seen, she will probably lead them down the same road with her choice of friends and lifestyle.

Tommy Croslin, Misty's brother, gets 15 years for drug trafficking

PALATKA - Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. was sentenced Friday morning to 15 years in prison for trafficking in prescription drugs.

Croslin, 24, is the brother of Misty Croslin, who was with 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings when girl disappeared from her Putnam County home in February 2009.

The child's disappearance is unrelated to his drug-trafficking charge, which resulted from an undercover operation in January. But his lawyer, James Werter, urged the judge to consider Tommy Croslin's cooperation with with investigators in the Haleigh case.

The prosecution - seeking a 30-year sentence - countered that Tommy Croslin only came forward when facing serious prison time - and that he failed to tell authorities what had happened in the home the night Haleigh was reported missing.

Circuit Judge Terry LaRue sentenced Tommy Croslin to 15 year on the charge of trafficking in Roxicodone. Another sentence of five years in prison for drug possession will be served at the same time.

Tommy Croslin testified that he has a drug problem and that his use of prescription drugs began when he moved to Palatka in recent years. He said he has not taken drugs while in jail this year even though, he said, drugs were available.

Also testifying on his behalf were his ex-wife, Lindsy Collins, and his father, Hank Croslin Sr.

The prosecution called Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Travis Smith, who said that Tommy Croslin was an experienced drug dealer.

As Tommy Croslin walked out of the courtroom, his only comment was: "God is with me."

Hank Croslin Jr. Sentenced To 15 Years
Croslin Pleaded No Contest To Drug Charges

POSTED: Friday, August 6, 2010

Hank Croslin Jr.

Prosecutors were hoping he would be sentenced to the maximum 30 years.

Croslin was arrested in January, along with his sister, Misty Cummings, his ex-brother-in-law, Ronald Cummings, and two other people.

Croslin's parents, who are also in custody on drug charges, were in the courtroom for the sentencing, WJXT-TV reported.

Haleigh's family was in court hoping something would be mentioned about the missing girl's case. While her name was mentioned, not many details were divulged.
