How to Embed YouTubes for Scared Monkeys

1.   First, hit “reply” at the bottom of a Scared Monkey page, so you’ll have a place to start your post. THEN..

2.   go to www.youtubes.com

3.   find a song you like. We’ll use one for No Rose Colored Glasses.

4.   Enter the song and artist in the search bar

5.   

6.   click on the version you want, and this will show up: (uh, my screen caps are not wanting to play here)

7.   

8.   If you look under the video, you’ll see an “embed” button. Click it.

9.   This will show up in the (above blank box):

11.   Here’s the fun part. See all those red letters? That means highlight them, then hit delete. But only highlight one section (top) then delete, then highlight second section (bottom) then delelete.

12.   Now, past the stuff that’s left -   http://www.youtube.com/v/BFy-yzj02FE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BFy-yzj02FE&hl=en_US&fs=1 onto your post.

13.   Highlight it all, then hit that little multi-colored wheel under the B (for bold) icon. That’s the Flash button, I love that button.

14.   Now hit “preview” to make sure it worked. If it worked, you’ll see a pic of the song you wanted to play. You are now officially good to go!

15.   Hit post, and turn up the volume!

ERROR CORRECTION: SEE THE BOLDED WORD AND THE RED STUFF:All the stuff that has a line thru it should also be deleted, sorry about that!

Thanks, Brandi! I couldn't get my screen caps to post, and I wasn't gonna go all Photoshop on a Sunday! Your directions should be much easier for Rose, I think she's a "visual" learner....as am I in most cases.

Rose, you're getting there. Just remember to snag the stuff between the first http and the first 1. Then highlight it, hit the magic button, and preview.

Ok. I've been trying this again because I had lost (just found) the instructions Capp had given me.
Has anyone seen that there's a new embed code on you tube that doesn't have a 1? There is still an option for old embed code (but for how long?)
I tried fooling with it, but when you hit flash and preview here, it just shows a blank white box.
