(Reuters) - The amount of oil and gas leaking from BP's ruptured well in the Gulf of Mexico could increase as much as 20 percent while efforts are made to cap it, the White House said on Sunday.

President Barack Obama was briefed by administration officials and discussed BP's efforts to put machines into place that will be used to cut the well's riser pipe so a containment device can be used to try to siphon off most of the leaking oil and gas up to a tanker ship on the surface.

"According to BP, the riser cutting will likely start Monday or Tuesday," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said in a statement.

National Incident Commander Admiral Thad Allen, who is in charge of the clean-up effort, said that, as the president had directed, government and contractor clean-up resources in affected areas will be tripled.

I just made this background as an experiment, then had no one to put into it, so I put myself in it. LOL

Yeah, I like lighthouses too, I don't use them much in avatars, maybe I will start using them more

Thanks for the work on it, but Bob is totally wearing his cap and boots until he gets that piece of paper from the university. Actually, today has been mostly spent turning my back porch into my summer sanctuary to finish the credits (18!) I need for my diploma.

I have to CLEP American and British literature, and write 3 Life Learning papers. I started today with studying how to read literature critically and analyize it (spelling doesn't count I hope!) OMG! I got to the part about poetry and reading it and was was like    poetry is torture!

but, my porch looks wonderful! I have a couch for napping, a table and chairs for writing and my computer (maybe I'll take you guys outside later on, when it cools down), and a sproingy chair for chilling. Oh, also, a fly swatter...got 5 of those suckers so far!
