Coroner's Report:  2010-03983

Details:
On Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at about 5:00 PM, deputies from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station arrived approximately two miles east of Lake Fulmor in the unincorporated area of Riverside County, near Idyllwild regarding a found skull.

Detectives processed the scene and recovered several items of evidence from the area. The skull appeared to have been at the location for some time.

The remains were transported to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s office for examination by the forensic anthropologist.

The investigation is ongoing and no more information is available for release at this time.

The case is currently being handled as a suspicious death by the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit.

Place Found / Died: Found on ground surface near roadway of Hwy 243, north of Black Mountain Road, east of Idyllwild, CA
Estimated Age: 20-40 years of age
Hair / Eyes: Unknown, skeletal remains only
Hair Length: Unknown
Height / Weight: Unknown
Features or Distinquishing Marks: Unknown due to body condition.

Note: skull measurements show that he had a very pronounced nose, hook type.
 
Clothing: None
Circumstances: This is a skull only that was found off of a roadway with no other associated bones or personal property located with it. It appears to have been moved from another site to where it was found (water, animals, people?). This death is being handled as a homicide death.
