But what is the psychiatric disorder that causes people to become apologists for, defenders, sustainers and in total denial where guilt is glaringly apparent?  You know, the one who always say something other COULD have happened when the odds make it just about impossible? 

You know the kind that are always obsessing over the rights of the suspects and in denial that there is sufficient circumstantial evidence for prosecution and conviction--the "no body, no crime" types and a society that in general is so busy protecting one of their own they have no desire for jutixe?

They are killers the same as Joran but do so out of feelings of being morally superior when in fact they are just plain stupid and that stupidity gets other innocent people killed and lives ruined.

I wonder if there is a name for what is wrong with those people as well.

And yes, Arlene, we DO understand your system totally.

I am completely with you Blonde.  Although some shrinks and counselors believe that criminals want to be caught...I never have bought that theory.  The shrinks are just saying the opposite of what they have said before..in otherwords....a narcissistic psycho/ socio path /anti social personality disordered individual does not have a conscience..that we agree on..but  other shrinks saying they want to be caught negates that statement an attributes something to these people they don't have..empathy, compassion, conscience.  Nope..not happening.  These people serve no other person or God then themselves.

Juran had no conscience and never will.  I believe he didn't know that Stephany was the daughter of such a powerful and famous man.  I believe he thought she was someone that just hung around casinos, played poker and no one would miss for sometime...like the girls in Thailand.   He thought wrong this time.  Criminals become more brazen the more crimes they get away with..not because they develop a conscience and want to be caught.  Joran had developed caught a lifestyle for himself that few young men have at his age.  I doubt he ever decided to exchange that lifestyle for jail in Peru.  

I am with you on this too. I don't think he had ANY IDEA who she was or he would have chosen someone less powerful. He thought she would be like the others (dump her body and get out of town) and yes, I do believe there have been a number of others.

He had no idea Beth Twitty would dog him like a wolf goes after a rabbit either, but he had his "homeboys" and his perverted father to cover that one up. That, I believe is why he took his show on the road to other countries like Thailand, Bangkok, etc. where dead women in hotel rooms are considered to be prostitutes and where they have little to no value on human life.

Lordy did I have an experience with these types this week - jury duty. < rolls eyes >

Sworn in and told to follow instructions, and all said they would.

When it came to the end - three said that there was no way they would convict or change their minds.

They made up facts not included in the testimony, made of evidence, and had blatant disregard for the oath they took. Literally, they lied to get on a jury, and then decided there would be no justice if they were a part of the process.

One told me that she was not going to believe the circumstantial evidence no matter what, even though the defense agreed that it was relevant and did not contest it.

I was like trying to reason with an old boot.

"devil's assholes" is more like it

They are usually people who are on the fringes of society; most of the time have little common sense and the ability to reason and see consequence after action. They are rarely involved in business but tend to be more on the outskirts of proper social function.

Many of them are loners who isolate themselves from the real world and although some believe it to be a form of denial it is more a lack of ability to perceive the truth of a situation. Persons who isolate themselves rarely have a grip on truth.
