Alleged murderer of young Peruvian arrive in Lima in early morning
   

Lima, June. 04 (ANDINA). The Dutchman Joran Van Der Sloot, the alleged murderer of the young Peruvian Stephany Flores is being moved by road and arrive in Lima in early hours of the morning, said this afternoon the Cabinet chief, Javier Velásquez Quesquén.

He said that has been transported under tight security and will be placed in the hands of justice for their respective process.

"A few hours was placed on the border with Chile at the disposal of the Peruvian authorities, we were unable to assign an aircraft of the Armed Forces because they are programmed for the organization of the OAS General Assembly and decided to move by land," said .

He added that it would be dangerous to bring on a commercial flight, so you are traveling with all the security of the case and arrive early hours of morning to be delivered to the appropriate authorities.

He said that if it proves to be the true responsible of that crime will be severely punished.

Van Der Sloot is required for allegedly killing the Peruvian Stephany Flores (21), whose body was found dead in a hotel in Miraflores.

Also been linked to the death of another young woman in Aruba five years ago, whose body was never found.

Judiciary extended for seven days Dutchman arrest for murder by Peruvian Stephany Flores

Lima (Peru.com) .- The Judiciary extended up to seven days of the arrest warrant issued preliminary national citizen against Dutchman Joran Van Der Sloot, chief suspect in the murder of the young Stephany Flores Ramirez (21).
 
The Criminal Court of turn adopted this measure to accommodate a request by the prosecutor Nilfo Espinoza Sotomayor, who is in charge of the research done on this case.
 
The head of the Criminal Prosecution Lima 45 called for the extension of this limited extent, so that agents can interrogate Homicide Division overseas.

The justice also during this period will be carried out other interrogation to clarify these facts.

Hello and long time no see sugar Monkeys!  Are we all celebrating some and mourning a bit too?  Does anyone else get the feeling that Natalie and Stephany aren't the only women that pscyho has murdered?

Unfortunately, I have said that from the beginning of Natalie's case. He was just too non nonchalant in the whole thing. I have always felt like this was not the first time  this had happened and I also felt his father was part of it.

I also can safely assume they have a functioning and efficient legal system UNLIKE ARUBA LOL which will follow evidentiary and due process rules that we might just find to be recognizably like our own legal system.

I know that South America is sort of a standing joke regarding governments and laws, etc., but Peru seems to be one of the better organized countries in that region.

It's also gratifying that whereas Joran was a HERO and an untouchable icon in Aruba, he is on the opposite end in this case... the ultimate villain, at the bottom of the food chain, accused of killing a popular and prominent young lady.

When they came to our town the citizens of the town, the motorcycle clubs, the Scouts, the mothers and grandmother and the off duty police blocked all the entrances to the funeral and to the graveyard and escorted the funeral procession 3 miles. They left the area and did not get to do anything. The second time there were pictures in the paper about the first funeral and the 500+ people who showed up to stop them and they didn't even bother to come after saying they would .There were over 1000 there the second time.

Does Peru Have the Death Penalty?

Now that Joran Van Der Sloot has been captured in Chile and facing charges for a crime committed in Peru, many are wondering if he could receive the death penalty if convicted for the murder of Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez.

Peru is one of nine countries in the world that does have the death penalty, but only for crimes 'committed in exceptional circumstances'. This means crimes that are committed in times of war or genocide or crimes under military law. Murder is considered an 'ordinary crime' and so if Joran Van Der Sloot is found guilty of killing Stephany Flores it is not likely that he will face the death penalty as part of his punishment.

In early 2007, President Alan Garcia wanted to introduce the death penalty for terrorists convicted in Peru, but the bill was rejected. At the time a poll determined that over 70% of Peru's citizens favored capital punishment, but if the country expanded the death penalty it would mean breaching the American Convention of Human Rights. Peru has signed this agreement.

Bo Dietl said he should have never left Aruba after May 10.  Joran contacted someone and said his father died and wanted to let someone know about Natalee.  He made statements that he pushed Natalee down and she hit her head and his father helped him.
