I love the way the local news calls him "the monster" and "the alien"!
anna i call him the monster Smile the peruvians call him....well they talk a lot about his stay in jail...
lol awesome!
we really aren't in aruba anymore are we? thank God. Does this feel like june 5 2005 to anyone else? i had so much optimism that week (week I say because it sure didnt last long). this time is gonna be so much different.

Hi Spooky! Yes, it does to me in a way. I vividly remember holding out hope that Natalee was somehow alive for a while and it doesn't feel like that that, but I was just sure they'd nail Joran. Now I'm really sure!

ARUBA: It's all about Natalee...we won't give up!

This is a long article, and I'm too tired to try to decipher the entire translation tonight but if I understand the headline correctly... it says if the evidence shows that Joran killed Stephany and then took her car, he could get life in prison.  I believe the information about the law in Peru is being shared by a lawyer who practices there.

snipped from the translation:

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.

Today brought to Lima the psychopath Netherlands

The Dutchman citizen Joran van der Sloot, chief suspect in the murder of Peruvian arrive today Stephany Flores Lima, Tacna, guarded by personnel from the Police and Interpol Peru, which started yesterday in a police van, guarded by four patrolmen.

Transfer to Peru of Joran Van der Sloot, for whom the suspicion of being the murderer of Stephany Flores, came after the Chilean police took him to the boundary of Tacna and Arica, where a group of agents of Interpol Peru was waiting to transfer you to the command of Santa Rosa, in Tacna.

At the time of being expelled from Chile, Joran Van der Sloot was wearing a black polo and a bulletproof vest. The day after his arrest in Santiago, last Thursday, Van der Sloot was taken by plane to Arica, where a truck will fly in the Police Department to the border checkpoint, where a group of Peruvian police and waited . During delivery of the detainee, Tacna groups were attentive to every movement of Van der Sloot and insulted him.

On arrival at our territory, Van der Sloot was taken to the police station in Concord to take your details and register their fingerprints. This caused the command staff of the custodian of income strongly to prevent any attempt to assault him. Manuel Balaguer, head of Interpol Lima was among the team members who traveled to Tacna to get abroad, and said that now that the suspect already in custody of the Peruvian justice system would first move to Lima. Minutes later it was decided that the journey is made by land.

Before moving to Peru, the Dutchman was questioned by Chilean authorities, to which it pleaded guilty to the charges against him. However, he acknowledged that it met the 21 year-old Stephany Flores.

Fernando Ovalle, deputy prefect of Aliens of the Investigative Police of Chile said that Joran Van der Sloot "obviously denies any involvement they may have in fact against him. He only says that he knew (a Stephany Flores), that at some point had moved to a casino. " He also stated that the Dutchman speaks very fluent in Castilian. During his stay in the Immigration headquarters in Chile, accused of the murder of the young Peruvian was visited by two representatives of the Netherlands Consulate in that country, who asked them to notify his mother about his arrest and would be deported to Peru.

Officials from the Netherlands Embassy in Peru said that his country if Joran Van der Sloot is a "terrible shock" and that the embassy does not bear the costs of defending Joran Van der Sloot, representatives of this consulate will visit you when you arrive to Peru to look after their health.

In Dirincri
Lima as it arrives at approximately noon today, Van der Sloot will be taken to the dungeons of the Criminal Investigation Department (Dirincri), Avenue Spain, where he remained for interrogations to be submitted to try to clarify the circumstances Stephany she met, she moved with her to the hotel where he hosted and presumably murdered. Once custody staff address Dirincri Homicide, police must request the extension of the detention of the Dutchman. Only after this would be referred to the custody of the judiciary.

Dirincri Yesterday's statement was taken Ricardo Flores, father of Stephany, who for more than two hours gave his testimony and the circumstances in which the girl was found dead. Then he said with national and international journalists covering the event that more statements will not until the police bring the suspect Lima having killed his daughter.

The hotel receptionist Tac, located in the block 60 of the Republic of Panama Avenue, Miraflores, also went yesterday to give his statement to the police. Abad Adelay Marchena explained the circumstances in which the Dutchman came to stay on 14 May and what happened the day he arrived with the girl killed.

In addition, the declaration of an Albanian citizen, who in a poker game Stephany Flores lost to five thousand dollars and also was staying at the Tac. The police explained that in the coming days will continue to quote the rest of the hosting staff to clarify what happened before the murder of the young, and to clarify the loose ends of research, such as why the girl spent more than 60 hours locked in 309 room without anyone being aware of their status.

Merino: the whole weight of the criminal law
For Ombudswoman, Beatriz Merino, the murder of the young Stephany Flores should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, so called on judicial authorities to clarify the case,

At the same time, said he is confident in the work to be performed by experts of the Police, prosecutors and the judiciary to clarify the case, whose main suspect Joran van der Sloot Netherlands, 23.

He also recounted that when he served as an official of the World Bank met for the death of Natalie Holloway, in 2005. "I saw the sadness of American society and the deep pain of the Holloway family the body was never found." The President of the Council of Ministers, Javier Velásquez, said yesterday that the Dutchman was brought by land and by air, for security reasons and because the officers had already been taken over buildings and for the transfer of the authorities and staff to participate at the meeting of the Organization of American States, which opens tomorrow in Lima.

Furthermore, President Alan Garcia expressed his gratitude to the Chilean authorities for the speedy expulsion of the Dutchman, while recommended that parents advise their children not to go with strangers.

"All parents should instruct, warn tirelessly for our children and also point out certain rules of discipline. We can not pay someone to go with another person who has just met, "he said.

Murderer may be released in less than five years
The chairman of the Judiciary, Javier Villa Stein, said that the prison benefits that exist in Peru, found guilty Dutchman Joran van der Sloot this could go free in five years and received a sentence of 25 years in prison for which asked Congress to revise this legal.

"In this case the (alleged) murderer (Joran Van der Sloot), warns that such benefits are reviewed prison, assuming they will be convicted and you can apply all the sorrows of the world, eventually making fun of the Code will Peruvian criminal, because the benefits are really very large prison, "he said.

He added that this can become a double-edged sword because the criminals can get out of jail in no time without having been rehabilitated into society. "This is extremely alarming, it is time to review the benefits of a 5 on 3 for 3, among others, which in the end the offender comes out clean," he said.

Bernie Grimm said when you make video tape cases they rip the guy right there in the room.  He said they let the guy get out of the country.

Jim Hammer is hoping that they were trying to get more information.  He is hoping the FBI didn't drop the ball.

Ted Williams is horrified and the FBI dropped the ball.

Ted and Jim Hammer are disagreeing.  Ted said get him talking in the United States.

Bernie said the jury is out on the FBI.  Greta seems to think it's the FBI's fault.

They could have indicted him here in the U.S. and extradite him from Aruba.

You are doing great!  I thought our FBI had no authority or jurisdiction on Aruba.

Oh you know Magnolia they changed the law on May 10th.  Remember what Arlene Ellis (horseface) shipper said.  You don't understand our laws. Wink

I still say that Aruban authorities alerted Joran that he had been taped and told him to beat feet off
the island.  They didn't want all of this brought back to light on their piece of property.

Did I hear correctly that they gave him $10,000 cash and wired another $15,000 thousand for a total of $25,000 down payment on the information?

That is what I heard.....
$10K cash and $15K wired.....
has anyone thought about what if JQK was in aruba to meet with joran and deliver the 10k cash? and JQK is the one who video taped him?
I think JQK may have been there to deliver the $10K...but it was probably delivered by the FBI undercover agent WKB. JQK was certainly there to take care of legalities with ALE/OM.
Sounds to me that the FBI set up a sting to get the goods on urine...JQK was there to get aruba OM cooperation (which I am sure was not welcomed-but current events forced them to appear as if they are cooperating with JQK/FBI).
FWIW...I don't appreciate (I'm pissed) that greta wants to raise the issue that FBI is somehow responsible for Stephany's murder...that's just not appropriate at this time....getting urine for murdering Stephany and hopefully getting closure for Natalee's family is what is important now.....
Stephany's family gets that.....greta just shows she will do anything for ratings....monkey no no...
yes thank you thats where i was going with that. and i agree about greta too...and now i think i might be talking to myself so goodnight all!

Concerns about crime Stephany Flores

Versions. Shuffle hypothesis about the murder. A murder that has shocked the entire country and also echoed abroad. Still many questions revolve around the facts of this terrible death.

1] What is the reason that led to the Dutchman Van der Sloot to kill Stephany?

One hypothesis of the mobile is theft. Witnesses said the victim was in possession of five thousand dollars, money he earned playing in the Atlantic City casino (not confirmed by the casino). According to this version, she would have been lured to the hotel where he stayed the Dutchman Joran van der Sloot. Once in the room would have attacked foreign Estephany to steal your money.

Another possibility is sexual abuse. The young man had offered to lead the Netherlands to the hotel where this was a guest. She would have agreed to go to the room of the subject and, once alone, the alien would have tried to have sex with Stephany, who refused would have produced a fight between the two with the result known. Version arises because it is believed that she could have refused to have sex because she was menstruating, police said.

2] How died the daughter of businessman Ricardo Flores, what was the cause of his death?

Explains the head of the central morgue, Dr. Cesar Tejada, she died of a brain hemorrhage caused by a cervical cranial trauma left side of the head. This would have fatal blow was caused by a blunt object. Not yet determined the object, but the crime scene found a tennis racket that is being analyzed.

The victim also had hits in the neck, mouth, feet and hands. The body was found in an advanced state of putrefaction. By the time the authorities ruled that she was raped as they are not found in semen samples.

3] In the case of Stephany Flores, do you actually used any drugs or pills to take the girl to the hotel?

Dr. Tejada said in this connection that the results of toxicology tests would take until Monday because the body was found two days of death. These results would indicate whether she was under the influence of drugs and / or was drunk before being beaten to death.

4] But another question in the air is: Why Her body was found two days after the crime, if she and her murderer entered the hotel on Sunday morning, and he left the room with your luggage only few hours of being admitted to his victim?

According to the statements of General of the National Police, Guardia Cesar Vasquez, the maid who found the body of the girl said, days before the discovery, he played on several occasions the door to room 309, where he was staying the psychopath Netherlands, but as only listening to the high volume of TV, did not take greater importance, until early Wednesday that some guests complained about the high noise from the room. The woman also said in their testimony before the police did not recall having heard cries for help or fight on the night of the crime.

5] "The defense of the citizens Netherlands will be assumed by a Peruvian lawyer?

Nothing prevents Joran van der Sloot engage the services of a Peruvian lawyer, is more convenient it would be someone familiar with Peruvian law to assume its defense. As is known, the lawyer Joshepe Tacopina was the lawyer who defended the Netherlands when he was accused of murdering Natalee Holloway in Aruba and extortion in the United States.

6] Where did the assumption that Stephany was stabbed to death or neck was broken?

These versions have been given by the same girl's father, Ricardo Flores, who at the news of the death of his daughter gave statements to the press in a state of anxiety without knowing exactly what happened.

I'd like to know if she was drugged before going to his hotel . Is there video of them entering or just eye witness accounts. I wonder if she was walking on her own or he was supporting her.
