I heard on some video, I think the one posted by klaasand of the peruvian prison system, that with a recent change to the laws in Peru they can now make trials public, broadcast them. I hope they broadcast ever second of his trial and that TruTV picks it up. Would an email writing campaign to TruTV help us make that happen?

So, I ventured over to one of the Peru news web sites (a link from somewhere here, no doubt). I decided to “send a message” among the all-Spanish comments. Behold, there were responses in English for me! (I’m msmarple there, too.)

BTW, there is a number-of-characters limit, so some comments are cryptic.

Here are my posts --

Sorry, I don't speak Spanish (just getting registered was a challenge!) I have followed the Natalee Holloway case for 5 years. Stephany's family has been so inspiring and graceful in this tragedy. I pray for comfort for them. Do Not Trust Aruba Law Enforcement. Tourism $$ is ALL Aruba cares about.

* * *

You all realize that Natalee's body was never found? "Why did they have to disappear her body?" So cruel. Thankfully Peru doesn't have an agenda apart from locking him up.

* * *

And regards to you, El Comentarista. Currently Aruba is speculating that the hotel staff did it. Aruba dragged Natalee and her mother, Beth, through the mud. So glad the shoe is on the other foot this time - the victim's family is influential, instead of Joran's. Stephany's family = Amazing Grace.

* * *

Here are the responses so far --

If in Aruba would have done justice, perhaps it could prevented Stephany's death. Regards to you, msmarple.

* * *

Hello, we know that Aruba is the most important tourism, but be sure that here in Peru will apply the full weight of the law and hopefully come to light evidence on the case of Natalee. Regards

* * *

It is sad that someone had to die before this guy goes to jail, but in the end justice will be done. Best of all, it will be in a peruvian jail (not a very nice place). This pretty boy is in for a BIG surprise....

* * *

You're absolutely right. Peruvian jails can be a hell for certain prisoners. Inside there's some sort of internal, "unwritten law" by which foreign murders of peruvian women are gonna get their ass kicked and raped every single day by local inmates. This is a nightmare scenario for Joran.

* * *

I hope that you lady read this,compare a jail in aruba or the states,lurigancho(name of the main prision in Peru)is one of the worst jails in the entire world and you can be sure that this murderer will suffer every single day for what he did to your daughter and sthepany.

* * *

msmarple, no worries mate!, I tell u that he is going to pay every bad things he did. Some people says that peruvian jails are the most dangerous in the world, thats not true, but trust me he is going to pay....

* * *

Peruvian law may not be the poster child for fairness and equality, but Ms. Holloway and the Flores famliy can rest assured that Joran will have an enjoyable stay at the Lurigancho Resort & Spa. Our prisoners will take very good care of him and wipe that smug grin right off his pretty lil face.

* * *

well it's well-known that if this murder goes to any other country than Peru he might be more "alive", let Peruvian justice keep him, isn't the greatest law but their prisions are tough enough for this son of the devil.

* * *

He will pay for his crimes and sick mind if they send him to Lurigancho Prison... there he will get what he deserves, once they see him and know what he did, let's say he will get ravished for every day of his stay in there. So relax @msmarple, sometimes the justice lates but it eventually comes...

* * *

I agree with remonio and noapologies, we hope that justice will be achive for Nathalee and Stephany in Peru... and probably the unwritten law of the jails that rapist will be punish by other inmates will make hell to this moron

* * *

MsMarple!!  thanks for registering and sharing the responses

Van der Sloot serial killer?
Joran 'Van of Death' wait years cell in Peru
Saturday, June 5, 2010
Author:Werner Rommers

Joran 'Van of Death' wait years cell in Peru

Joran van der Sloot (23), the second suspect in the murder of a young woman, this time is probably not as cheap as. The Dutchman was extradited to Peru on Friday, and risks up to 30 years in a cell of Peru's notorious prisons. Werner Rommers

The Dutchman Joran van der Sloot has been playing a game of five years with the Dutch justice, as the prime suspect in the disappearance case of American student Natalee Holloway (18) in Aruba. Although he ever be quoted against an underworld figure confessions, justice has never failed to gather sufficient evidence against him. Joran by experts as a psychopath with a morbid desire for media attention is described travel since the world as a kind of notorious Dutchman.

Brutal murder

Now it seems his luck turned. Late last night he was invited by the Chilean police extradited to Peru as a suspect in the murder of the daughter of a wealthy and influential Peruvian businessman. According to the president of the Peruvian Supreme Court, Javier Villa Stein, is a "brutal murder" for which he is between 25 and 30 years can get cell.

A Dutch aid worker who visited prisons in Peru often said to the Dutch RTL each year sentence in Peru for two counts, "due to overcrowding and heavy military regime." Netherlands also has no extradition treaty with Peru, which Dutch their imprisonment in their homeland can not serve.

Joran new victim, Tatiana Flores Stephany Ramirez (21), was Wednesday by a hotel employee Joran hotel room in the Peruvian capital Lima found. The woman is probably on the night of Sunday to Monday slain by strangulation or by blows to her head. Her body also showed stab wounds.

Joran was no trace, to the Chilean police, the young Dutchman came on the track, and a veritable manhunt ensued. Friday night, Van der Sloot, who a few days time 3.0000 km away was hit with a police plane back to the Chilean-Peruvian border, from where he is brought to Lima.

Flight taxi

Van der Sloot had two Peruvian brothers $ 500 given to him with their taxi as soon as possible to bring to Chile. She testified later that Joran is acting very nervous the whole trip. "Apparently he was terribly afraid he would get a fair trial Peru," says the Dutch crime reporter Peter R. de Vries. He knew Joran through an underworld figure ever to make confessions to pass on his part in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. De Vries said yesterday that he feared that Joran name sooner or later would appear in connection with a crime. It frustrates me that someone who rises first dance, then a new victim. "

Stephany Flores is now buried in Lima. "I hope my daughter is happy now that she knows that this murderer will pay for what he has done," said her father in shambles. About the guilt or innocence of Van der Sloot make it in Peru have few questions, and moreover, the very heavy burden. There are even pictures of the casino, where he met the girl, that shows how together they leave the games hall. Moreover, a hotel worker heard one evening on the two major fights.

Extortion

The mother of Joran van der Sloot responded yesterday "shocked and excited," said her lawyer. Yesterday also became known that Van der Sloot Natalee Holloway's mother tried to 200,000 euros rip. In exchange Joran would tell her where the body of Natalee is found.

Van der Sloot now increasingly the image of serial killer will be other countries concerned. So fear the police in Thailand, where the Dutchman spent a long time, he there also victims. The police there are now several cases reopened.

Morning Monkeys!

Thx MsMarple for the responses to the news site you posted! They're inspiring! <grin>

EURobert: Thx for the video! Boy, this arrest has a totally different "feel" than anything I ever saw in Aruba! That can only be a good thing! There was always a "staged" element to everything there, and this is hard reality!

Klaas: Love the screen capture of Joran's pants! As the Betty Boop in the crowd, just let me say, "Poop Poop Di Poop!"   LOL!
