He's lying again.  He makes it sound like he and Stephany went to his room to hang out like buddies, and he had to kill her to protect people in Aruba who were responsible for Natalee's death.  It's always someone else fault.  Like when he told Anita that if she had been home "this" wouldn't have happened.  He's sending a message to someone that he is keeping his mouth shut about Natalee, and they had better too.  And he is still taunting Beth by reminding her that he knows exactly what happened to Natalee and where she is.

JMHO he took Stephany to his room to rape and rob.  When she resisted he flew into his rage and brutally brutally murdered her.  And I think she was dead within 15 minutes of stepping foot into that room.  POS

He will never take sole responsibility for his actions.

Think about this too.  When a man from the school in Aruba told Viet Vet that Joran had hit Natalee in the head with an aluminum bat maybe that was a translation thing like we first heard with Stephany when it was really a tennis racket that he used to kill Natalee.

I totally agree with your post. I've had those very same thoughts.

Great to see all the old timers here, and welcome to the new ones! I have tried to post  a few times but kept getting kicked out due to the high volume of posters here.....LOL.

I believe Joran has lots of other victims, even if nothing else is ever legally tied to him. At the very least, we know he has drugged and raped other girls. He is a psychopath whose violence escalated from killing animals to rape and then to murder. He knew his crime gig was up on Aruba, and he was too well known in The Netherlands also, so I think he made his way to Third World countries to continue his crimes so that his victims would not have an advocate like Beth. He wanted his victims to be nameless and faceless. He made a mistake by picking Stephany. He had no idea how well-connected her family is. He really thought he could do whatever he wanted with no consequences. Anita, Paulus and Aruba turned a monster loose on the rest of the world. I hope Peru can cage him until he's dead.

Joran is no fool. He wanted to get as light a sentence as possible and realized there would be no plea bargaining. His sentence would be much longer had he admitted to
attempted rape or theft. He chose a motive that would insure him the shortest number of years: 20 yrs or less. That is 16 fewer years than what he was looking at
before his "confession" . I don't trust him to tell the truth.

I hate to mention this, but those bruises on the tops of her feet could have come from Joran trying to force her to perform oral sex and she may have deliberately inflicted some pain in an attempt to get free. JMO

He admitted to the crime stating she was using his computer about being involved in NH's death.

Who here buys that as the reason why he killed her?

I mean almost every one would recognize him and would figure that he was the suspect in Natalee's disappearance and death.

What really must have been on his laptop? There must have been damning stuff like trafficking and much more than merely references to NH.

I`m having a hard time buying it. He said reading about who he was on the Internet, correct?

That`s a stretch.

Ceilita brings up a good point too. If he did it after he came back from getting coffee... he looks a little neat and is wearing the same clothes. What he is accused of ... he`d need a change of outfits, no?

Curly... where did you see that report? I haven`t seen that one yet.
oral sex....i thought that maybe she tried to resist from being moved or pulled by the monster like putting her feet under the bed to prevent to be pulled. but oral sex can be possible. did he take a shower before leave?

Are you saying that Glenda has blamed Beth for that murderer being available to murder Stephany??!!  Because if she is, she is even sicker and crazier than I thought and maybe I'll just go over to the Refugees and have a word with her.

Yes, she is blaming Beth because according to Glenda, Joran would not have had the money to go to Peru if it hadn't been for the $$ he got from the sting.

Nonsense.  There was a BIG poker tournament and he wanted to attend.  He could have just killed somebody in Aruba to get the money.  Maybe even her.

You know the truth, I know the truth, but Aruba's main spokesperson for the last five years, JULIA RENFRO, wants you to believe that it was the fault of Beth Holloway that this (second) murder occurred:

who is Glenda? a monkey? she made a very disgusting comment. I hope that she doesnt have kids ans if she has one I hope that somebody else is looking for that kid

She is Julia Renfro, the talking head you see in virtually all television reports and many media reports about Natalee dating back to 2005.

She's repeatedly bashed Beth publically, most recently blaming her for the botched (corrrupt?) investigation on Aruba in the NY POST a few days ago, and has posted hundreds, if not thousands, of posts making horrible statemtns (or cheering them on) on another message board.

I don't know what her goal is, but hopefully Aruba will (finally) figure out that her words aren't doing the island any good. She's a horrilbe and twisted person...
Actually, she is a media whore and an idiot.

HALLELAJUH!!!

I'm late to the party...after being up for days, waiting on this....

I "thought" he might confess without his father...we heard he confessed about Natalee, too, but that all got erased.

It will take a long time for LE to sort through the maze of lies he's told and will continue to tell IMO.

I haven't had a chance to read back yet...is Anita in Peru yet?

Not surprised he is trying to link the crime with the computer he had. I posted last night there could be some linkage, he used it to lure her to his room or something like that.

Now I am hearing he is using the computer to try and mitigate the crime. I also think he is trying to get convicted on the Aruba crime, or link the two murders so as to serve a sentence there instead of in Peru. This without confessing truthfully to either one.

The confession he has put forth in Peru is self serving, incomplete and likely inaccurate.

He may try to stay high profile as a self preservation tactic. I think it is only chance to stay alive.

My question is this: Will Joran Van Der Sloot again receive special treatment from a justice system? Will he be kept safe from the general prison population in ways an unknown criminal would not?

Does anyone think he still has a chance to get preferential treatment from the justice system? Will he be protected from the general prison population because he is high profile?

He'll be protected for a while.  Then he'll be treated like any other common criminal.  And he won't leave Peru.  Her daddy will see to that.

YES, I believe his days are numbered and he may well have been weighing his odds.  In or out of a Peruvian prison he is a marked man.  Her father may be more powerful than we know.  Urine knows all about how powerful a daddy can be.  Now he may be getting a good idea of what it could be like to be on the receiving end of all of that power.

OMG, when I woke up about two hours ago there was nothing on the news.
Just got to work, turned on the computer and it's all over the news!
Every Dutch newssite is mentioning it!
I think, no know, that he confessed to get a deal out of it.
But still, a confession is a confession (for now).
Very curious to see how this will unfold.

Van der Sloot confesses to Peru slaying
Paper reports suspect lost his temper after victim grabbed laptop

NBC News and news services
updated 7 minutes ago

LIMA, Peru - A high-ranking Peruvian government official confirmed to NBC News Monday night that Joran van der Sloot confessed to the slaying of a 21-year-old Lima woman.

According to La Republica newspaper, he said that his anger exploded and he broke Stephany Flores' neck after she grabbed his laptop without his permission, and found out that he was involved in the disappearance of an American woman.

The paper quoted Van der Sloot as saying, "I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life."

The Dutchman, who is also the prime suspect in U.S. teen Natalee Holloway's 2005 disappearance in Aruba, is being held in a seventh-floor cell with a bunk bed and blanket and gets three hot meals a day, said Maj. Jose Gamboa, spokesman for the Peruvian national police.

Van der Sloot is suspected in the May 30 killing — five years to the day after Holloway's disappearance — of Flores, a business student who police say he met playing poker at a casino.

Police released video Saturday taken by security cameras at the hotel where van der Sloot had been staying since arriving from Colombia on May 14. It shows the two entering van der Sloot's room together and the Dutchman leaving alone four hours later.

The woman's battered body was found on the room's floor more than two days later, her neck broken. Van der Sloot had by then crossed into Chile, where he was arrested Thursday.

In video taken of the husky 22-year-old Dutchman that was broadcast Sunday by a TV channel, Peruvian police search van der Sloot's belongings in his presence.

They pull out of his backpack a laptop, a business-card holder and 15 bills in foreign currency. Van der Sloot tells police the money includes Thai, Cambodian and Bolivian currency. He is asked for credit cards and documents and appears to say — his Spanish is very rudimentary — that they are in a hotel room back in Chile.

Earlier, Peru's chief homicide investigator, Col. Miguel Canlla, would neither confirm nor deny a Sunday report in the Lima newspaper El Comercio that van der Sloot told his Peruvian questioners he was innocent of the Flores killing.

"I don't know where that information came from," Canlla told The Associated Press. "We are still in the investigative stage."

Chilean police said earlier that van der Sloot declared himself innocent in the Lima slaying but acknowledged having met Flores.

Van der Sloot was represented by a state-appointed lawyer during Saturday's questioning.

Until he hires his own counsel, "the guys prosecuting him will decide which attorney he's going to get," van der Sloot's U.S. attorney, Joseph Tacopina, told the AP.

Tacopina said the suspect's family "is trying to find competent counsel."

She was killed by reviewing your laptop
By J. Yucra

It is professional poker player and believed to have an ace up his sleeve, but his alibi collapsed like a house of cards. The Dutchman Joran van der Sloot (23) had no other choice but to confess to the murder of the young Stephany Flores Ramirez (21), whom he met at a casino in Miraflores. "Yes, I killed her. I did, I accept," he said with a breathtaking cold, with no sign of repentance.

According to police sources, the murderer, during interrogation by more than ten hours, attributed the crime to the anger that caused him to find the girl reviewing the files on your laptop.

It is presumed that she opened her e-mails that the subject had known about his criminal acts. Then the girl confirmed the suspicion in the Internet search engines, where there is abundant information of the crime of Natalee Holloway (17) and the extortion of their parents, in Aruba, facts of which he is the prime suspect.

Van der Sloot had confessed his crime minutes after 9 pm last Sunday. After a deep breath and fell silent for long seconds.

Would have revealed that the crime occurred after 8:20 am on Sunday 30 May at the hotel 'Tac' of Miraflores, where they had taken after meeting at the casino 'Atlantic'. Joran had gone to buy bread and coffee for breakfast. She took advantage of his absence to check your laptop and discovered he was a murderer and extortionist.

Punching and racket
"He came back and was enraged. The two began to argue violently. The man shot to death," a police source told.

This version is confirmed by the coffee residue found on the floor and the victim had bruises on various parts of the body.

Also, the summary of autopsy determined that she showed signs of ten punches in the face that broke his nose and mouth, causing a time-to-eye inflammation.

In addition, five blows to the head and neck with a racket head trauma caused her death necessary. She also had bruises on the hands and feet, as they tried to defend himself, but was little he could do to a man over 90 meters tall.

Then, after committing the murder, the stranger kept his belongings in two suitcases and valuables from the victim, as well as jewelry and money, to leave the accommodation.

On the other hand, it was learned that yesterday three Forensic psychologists were gathered for at least five hours with foreign countries.

His public defender, Carla Odría, waived the defense when he heard the confession.

Laten we niet te vroeg juichen - Let's not cheer to early as we say in Dutch

This is not a victory:
- Not premeditated so not murder but manslaughter.
- Not rob as motive so not life in prison

Conclusion: he’s hoping for a less than ten year conviction in a comfortable Dutch prison.

Police: Dutchman confesses to killing Lima woman
, Associated Press Writer – 5 mins ago
LIMA, Peru – Dutchman Joran van der Sloot, long the prime suspect in U.S. teen Natalee Holloway's 2005 disappearance in Aruba, confesses to killing a young woman in his Lima hotel room last week, a police spokesman says.

Police Col. Abel Gamarra, head of the Information Directorate of Police, told The Associated Press late Monday that Van der Sloot admitted under questioning by police that he killed 21-year-old Stephany Flores.

Gamarra said the case will be turned over to prosecutors who will present formal charges against Van der Sloot. The National Prison Institute will determine which prison he will be held in while awaiting trial.

Police planned to take Van der Sloot to the hotel on Tuesday to participate in a reconstruction of the events leading to Flores' slaying, Gamarra said.

Gamarra did not provide further details about the confession.

A Peruvian television station, Channel 4, said it had obtained details about Van der Sloot's confession in which he reportedly told police that he killed Flores because he got angry when he found out that she had looked up information about his past on his laptop.

Flores, a university student studying business administration, was found beaten to death in the hotel room where the Dutchman had stayed while participating in a poker tournament. Flores is thought to have met Van der Sloot at the casino.

She was last seen alive on a hotel video the night of May 30 entering Van der Sloot's room. The Dutchman is seen on the video leaving the room several hours later with his baggage and walking out of the hotel.

Police said he took a bus to Chile, where he was captured several days

I think this theory makes perfect sense to me.  He left to go get them both coffee...she's in nthe room alone...he returns to find her on his laptop...he goes nuts...kills her in a fit of rage...showers and changes clothes...leaves the oom alone to flee to Chile.  Open and shut to me.  She most likely found files on his desktop regarding the extortion plot and whatnot.  But more then  that, he's a control freks.  Once out of it, he loses all sense to sanity and becomes violent.  Same thing most likely happened to natalee...

Yes, I believe his days are numbered, too.

I don't know if it's even possible for Joran to make any kind of deal with Peru.  Stephany's father just might want to let Joran think that's possible because he seems very sympathetic concerning Natalee..."if" her father has "that" kind of pull with LE...

BUT...if any of that occurs in the future, I sure hope that Joran would never be moved out of Peru before finding Natalee's remains and the FBI confirming they are Natalee's remains.
