[Puzzler]

Joran has confessed to murdering Stephany.

Just like Joran confessed to murdering Natalee.  After only a short time Aruba LE was questioning Beth about Natalee and seizures.  She never knew why until years later Joran tells about Natalee "shaking".  Then Beth realized Joran had told Aruba LE, they knew all along.  They hid it all and/or or destroyed it all and/or lied about it all.

That's what Joran's used to.  Well, HELLO!  This is Peru and this freak is about to have the advantage of a new experience.  (Wow...I sure miss the laughing monkey that sticks out his tongue)!

Well, all I can say is 50 bucks is chump change to a guy like him. Joran will rue the day he ever messed with that Family. He won't last 24 hours in that hell hole of a prison.

From what I've read, Joran may get a somewhat lighter sentence for confessing, but IMO, it doesn't matter. I firmly believe if he goes in to start serving a sentence inside a Peruvian prison, he'll never come out alive.

As far as his chances of NOT serving time in a Peruvian prison but being able to serve the time in Holland................ I haven't seen anything that would force Peru to agree to that. I really think that Peru wants to keep him and I'm betting/hoping that they aren't going to let that trophy that they paraded around, go so easily.

IMO Joran's @ss is staying in Peru.....much to the delight of hundreds other Peruvian prisoners!

With all that Stephany's father has done for the Peruvian police and how highly they think of him....and all the other connections the father is supposed to have, too....it will only take one word from the father and it's all over for Joran.

Mr. Flores has already stated publicly that he does NOT want Joran to get the death penalty.  Does anyone think for one moment that he is stating this from a humanitarian standpoint?  He KNOWS that in this case death would be the easy way out.  He KNOWS what the Peruvian max security prisons are like.  He wants him to suffer for a long time.  Does anyone think he is going to let Joran go sit in a cushy Dutch jail?  NO WAY!  And he has a multitude of Peruvian officials to ensure that it is done as he wishes.  Slowly, painfully, with everyday reminders of what he has done.

Natalee Holloway Center set to open

BIRMINGHAM (AP) — The Natalee Holloway Resource Center opens Tuesday in Washington to provide families of missing persons help with managing their crisis and to give students advice on traveling safely.

The nonprofit center is located at the National Museum of Crime and Punishment, and it’s named for the Mountain Brook teenager who disappeared five years ago on a class trip to Aruba.

Museum chief operating officer Janine Vaccarello said museum officials are developing the center with Natalee Holloway’s mother, Beth Holloway Twitty. They are working from her experiences with her daughter’s disappearance.

“Beth made a list of what she went through when Natalee was first reported missing and most of the things had to do with her not having resources,” she told The Birmingham News.

A 24-hour call center, donated by an Orlando, Fla., law firm and staffed by trained workers, will help a family navigate the process of gathering information about the missing person and providing it to the media to get the word out rapidly and accurately, she said.

A second mission of the center is helping teachers, parents and students travel safely.

Although he seemed to revel in the fact that he got away with murder...

I'll bet many things led to his downfall, contributing to his "nothing to lose" actions:
(1) Death od PVDS - probably felt somewhat responsible.
(2) General dislike for him in his backyard (Aruba)
(3) Lynch mob mentality towards him in Holland.
(4) Watching his every move (Peter dVries chasing him around)
(5) Catching wind (from ALE) about extortion plot.
(6) Overall losing pattern in Poker
(7) Lack of money and resources.
( Inability to forge relationships with women due to notoriety.
(9) Isolated lifestyle. Had become a total "lone wolf"

Add in his personality traits:
(1) Arrogant
(2) Narcissist
(3) Sense of entitlement
(4) Untouchable attitude
(5) Liar
(6) Psycopath
(7) Loose cannon
( Unstable
(9) No direction

All of the above (plus many morte descriptives) probably culminated into his Peruvian experience.

Just my humble opinion...

I think you are right regarding his explosive murder of Stephany, but what happened in his early life that would have caused him to kill his dog,  throw someone into a plate glass window, kill Natalee....where did that frustration and anger come from?  Clearly poor parenting skills, but that doesn't always create a killer.  Something happened to him that tramatically changed him,  I believe. Perhaps he witnessed the death of others at his father's hands, or his father's friends hands.  Rape/assault/murder??? There came a great disrespect for human life, but from where?

Who here buys that as the reason why he killed her?

I mean almost every one would recognize him and would figure that he was the suspect in Natalee's disappearance and death.

What really must have been on his laptop? There must have been damning stuff like trafficking and much more than merely references to NH.

I read where there were 2 complaints of noise. Sorry, but cannot find the source at this time. I think now that the hotel staff is allowed to talk, we will be hearing more details.

He went to get coffee after she was dead.  He knew the cameras were there and set the "coffee" thing up for just in case he was caught.  IMO, she was probably dead within the first 15 -30 minutes of entering Joran's room.

Maybe.  But, what's still puzzling me (sorry for the pun) is why no one heard anything in the adjacent rooms?  Here's a woman being beaten to death in the room next to you, but an act that violent doesn't produce any sound?  If I have the TV up too loud in the livingroom my wife yells at me to turn it down.  Again, why no noise (or complainst about it)?  Strange...

CNN is reporting that they are receiving news that Joran is not happy with what took place last night , the lawyer present was not the one of his choice, he felt coerced etc...yada yada yada.

I have not seen any of this in the Peru press yet.

I've been wondering the same thing. Stef's father can ask the Peru police to get Joran to come clean on Natalee. But then that may be a catch 22 situation. If he confesses does Aruba get him back for trial first?

And I would not be surprised at all if today Aruba announces the searches there have produced some evidence and they are charging Joran with murder. Or, they have reviewed their files and now want to prosecute him.
