Many a nights, when I can't sleep, I come to Natalee's thread and read.  Half the time not following all the ins and outs but definitely feeling the friendship, dedication and pain that has continued for these five years.  May God give us answers and Natalee be brought home to rest in peace, instead of that armpit island.

Trying to decipher the papiamento: Sounds like two tourist ladies, one age 51 from Canada and the other age 47 from England, were driving their jeep around the Alta Visto chapel and found something in the dirt near the water tower that they thought could be bones.

Peru's La República knew news earlier today reported that the authorities in Aruba, the remains of Natalee Holloway had been found. The Attorney General of the OM in Aruba speaks against those messages, however.

 Last week it was clear that Joran van der Sloot Natalee's mother has tried to extort. He would, upon payment of $ 250,000, where Natalee is buried like to have known.

I just spoke to TJ to see if there was any truth to Natalee being found, he did not know anything yet.

He did tell me that Dave is going to Aruba, he spoke to him a little bit ago.

Please, I do not know if this was a scheduled trip - or because they have found Natalee.

I asked - how long ago did you speak to Dave - we were disconnected.

Right before that - he said he will call me as soon as he knows something.

He is going to be on TRU TV at 1 pm and JVM tonite and also another show later in the evening, but I didn't catch which show.

So many conjectures and imagined scenarios. The horrific murder of this young woman leaves nothing whatsoever to the imagination. One press release I read, in Spanish, referred the "slaughter" of this beautiful young woman. As awful of an ordeal the Holloway/Twitty families endured, I guess it is of some solace that they did not have these vivid descriptions right in their face. Some teeny comfort I guess.

My opinion of Joran was always that he was a spoiled young man who had had way too much freedom but was a sort of "gentle giant". I would have never begun to imagine he would be capable of inflicting the pain and suffering that Ms. Flores suffered prior to dying. It makes me wonder just how much brutality he had demonstrated in his youth in Aruba, and how many more murders he has committed. Mind boggling. And, too, that same article I read referred to his having sold young women into prostitution (a miserable, ugly, and hopeless life).

Here right in front of us IMO is a monster we have been watching for 5 years - making excuses for - finding charming with an innocent, boyish demeanor. It makes me sick.

I don't think Joran knows she was a lesbian...I think he tried and she resisted and got killed for do so (plus other factors)
and I don't think Peru LE is telling him she was a lesbian...just letting Joran keep digging his hole deeper and deeper..

Joran Van der Sloot: The Making of a Predator

Joran Van der Sloot, 22, is being held in Peru, where authorities say he has confessed to the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores. Van der Sloot was, of course, the chief suspect in the disappearance and presumed death of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. In that case, there was insufficient evidence to charge him with a crime, and he was released.

Van der Sloot reportedly explained to Peruvian authorities that he killed Flores when she “intruded” into his personal life by looking at his notebook computer and learning he was involved in Holloway's disappearance.

Indeed, Van der Sloot seems to be a killer whose violence erupts from him, rather than the kind of serial killer who methodically and secretively stalks victims and carefully disposes of their remains. He was, after all, seen walking into his hotel room with Flores on a hotel video surveillance camera, and the two had been seen together before the alleged crime. He was known to have spent time with Holloway, as well. Those facts don’t support the kind of methodical stalking of victims that organized serial killers are known for.

Organized serial killers plan their crimes for weeks, months or years. They typically are aware of the internal need to kill. They are known to restrain their victims and bring murder weapons with them to the scenes of their crimes, keeping the weapons with them when they disappear.

Disorganized serial killers happen upon their victims at random and may be “provoked” to kill not just for the perverse joy of it, but by overwhelming feelings of rage or humiliation.

They often leave murder weapons at the scenes of their crimes and do little to dispose of the physical evidence associated with their crimes. What unites organized and disorganized serial killers, I believe, is a perverse connection with death. Ending life reaches them at a deep level that is connected to their own early and unexplored psychological traumas. The “projection” of their own powerlessness and helplessness and, ultimately, lifelessness is the terrible force that overtakes them—again and again. Alcohol and drugs can contribute to dissolving their defenses and rendering them more likely to be homicidal.
 

Joran Van der Sloot traveled the world in the five years since he was held in Aruba for the murder of Natalee Holloway. One or more unexplained murders anywhere he visited may involve him. But something also has to have killed off Van der Sloot’s capacity to contain his rage and to empathize with the suffering of others. And the scene of that crime, stored deep inside the mind of Van der Sloot himself, is not yet known.

It may well be that every episode of violence in Joran Van der Sloot’s life has seemed to him as though it would be the last one—beginning with the emotional or physical violence that turned him into a predator.
