Hi, Ms.Marple.  If Glenda's saying he told where Natalee's buried, why doesn't she use her so-called sharp reporting skills and find out what he said and tell everyone?  Maybe she's saving that information to try to cut a deal in case she's tried for obstructing justice.

According to Glenda, she knows the exact place because she said that there is now a house on the spot.

She cannot explain however, why he was given more money in May after telling where Nat was in April.

In one of the photos of Joran clutching his pants that are falling off, you can see the top of the shutters (horrors!) and they did not get the new coat of paint that the roof did.

LIMA, Peru - Joran van der Sloot will spend all week at criminal police headquarters being questioned in the death of a 21-year-old Lima woman and has asked to be able to hire his own lawyer, authorities said Sunday.

The Dutchman, who is also the prime suspect in U.S. teen Natalee Holloway's 2005 disappearance in Aruba, is being held in a seventh-floor cell with a bunk bed and blanket and gets three hot meals a day, said Maj. Jose Gamboa, spokesman for the Peruvian national police.

Van der Sloot is suspected in the May 30 killing — five years to the day after Holloway's disappearance — of Stephany Flores, a business student who police say he met playing poker at a casino.

Police released video Saturday taken by security cameras at the hotel where van der Sloot had been staying since arriving from Colombia on May 14. It shows the two entering van der Sloot's room together and the Dutchman leaving alone four hours later.

The woman's battered body was found on the room's floor more than two days later, her neck broken.

"The only possessions of my daughter they found were her empty wallet and her cellphone," her father, circus empresario Ricardo Flores, said in TV interview Sunday night. "There wasn't a peso in her wallet."

Van der Sloot crossed into Chile on Monday, where he was arrested three days later.

In video taken of the husky 22-year-old Dutchman that was broadcast Sunday by a TV channel, Peruvian police search van der Sloot's belongings in his presence.

They pull out of his backpack a laptop, a business-card holder and 15 bills in foreign currency. Van der Sloot tells police the money includes Thai, Cambodian and Bolivian currency. He is asked for credit cards and documents and appears to say — his Spanish is very rudimentary — that they are in a hotel room back in Chile.

Peru's chief homicide investigator, Col. Miguel Canlla, would neither confirm nor deny a Sunday report in the Lima newspaper El Comercio that van der Sloot told his Peruvian questioners he was innocent of the Flores killing.

"I don't know where that information came from," Canlla told The Associated Press. "We are still in the investigative stage."

Stephany's father seems like a nice man.  I think he's too smart to be taken advantage of by that murderer; I agree with you Ms.Marple, in the ocean won't suffice.

Magnolia, hello!  If Glenda knows where Natalee's body is, she ought to be arrested for sure.  Obstructing justice, withholding evidence.  Not to mention a total lack of morals.

Why in the world would the Aruban officials want to help him?! Thanks for the information, though, Turbothink.  Oh, and as for the worries that he will be sent back to the Netherlands (I've read in other areas)--that's never going to happen.  

IMO, There are some who helped in the cover-up of Natalie's case who by now are very afraid at this point that he will give up the Who, What, When,Why & How it happened.
If the ones I think are responsible are............it could bring down a large portion of their "officials" rapidly if all this comes out.

Stephany father expects more tests

Ricardo Flores, the girl's father died, Stephany Flores, said he has great faith that the police find more evidence on the laptop of Joran van der Sloot, and further proves his guilt in the crime. View video

"The computer is here in Lima, was brought from Chile, and is being examined by police. Ahi could find a thousand things of many other possible crimes because the subject has a profile of mass murderer" he said.

Despondent Flores said his daughter began researching the Internet and saw much of the profile of the Netherlands now under arrest, accused of the murder of Stephany.

He noted that there are many similarities between the death of his daughter, and another young woman murdered in Aruba, Natalee Holloway, as both knew what the subject in a casino one day and died May 30.

"I have great faith in God that he's computer, which has been requisitioned, many things will appear," he said.

"The energy I have is giving me my daughter"

The girl's father said that in these hard times why your family is suffering, he feels his daughter is present and gives strength to continue and to do justice not only for herself, but also by the other girl who was murdered in Aruba .

He said that at first, after the disappearance of Stephany, was thought to be a kidnapping, but when the hours passed and not receiving any calls for ransom, it was thought the worst.

"We thought it was a kidnapping because all marked that, but was diluted (...) because we spent hours calling and stress, grief, were horrible," she said.

He said that to be familiar with the case of her daughter, stayed up until the Dutchman arrived in Peru, and then took a pill to relax.

It will travel with his family

He said that when he saw the capture of the Dutchman felt a lot of peace, because her family did not want this man to continue doing what he did in Aruba and was released or escape. "

"My heart tells me to be clear not only the crime of my daughter, but that girl that her family has five years of suffering. I know the girl's father Holloway has sent condolences for videos and I hope they too can find the peace they need, "he said.

He also announced that it would travel with his family to face the enormous loss of his daughter, and asked the press not to be disturbed or called.

Stephany's Dad always brings tears to my eyes.  That he can remain focused with all that is happening around him is a miracle.

I would think Joran would have learned his lesson in Aruba about his computer.  Don't put anything on it you don't want traced.  But, I was speaking with Carpe in the last thread, not realizing it was closed, and said, I think Joran, like Casey Anthony, lives 10 minutes at a time.

Stephany Flores would have spent hours with Van der Slot one day before his assassination

Ricardo Flores, father of murdered teenager Stephany Flores, said his daughter would have spent hours with his alleged murderer Joran van der Slot, a day before her death.


In an interview on "The Sniper", said the videos from security cameras Atlantic City casino, you would see her daughter on Friday 29 with Van der Slot playing poker at a table in the establishment, leaving the possibility they have agreed to meet again on Saturday at the site.
Another time, Ricardo Flores said the possibility that your child has been drugged by Van der Slot is quite believable after seeing the pictures of the hotel security cameras that went after playing in the casino.

"I think that may have been drugged when leaving the casino, possibly in the truck road to the hotel because the hotel images in the footsteps of my daughter looked like a man without a will, walking in a strange way."

About the singer Roberto Blades statements saying he had alerted the casino security how dangerous Van der Slot, Flores noted that it would be just purely promotional campaign of the singer.

"That singer just wants to hold onto this for publicity, I do not think the hotel was negligent for leaving him enter, I know Omar Macci and has a great quality of person, helped me by providing the video security cameras .

Finally he said, trust the Peruvian justice system to resolve the case as the evidence to incriminate Van der Slot are fairly clear.

cecilita - hello, I am not the best to answer you, but no, I don't think we have heard of any other girls with Joran in Peru. But if Joran was slipping drugs (date rape drugs - roofies?) in drinks, there might be someone there who doesn't even remember.

darleen - hello again! I think there's speculation that (a) Stephany's father, in his compassion for Natalee's family, might agree to Joran serving his sentence in The Netherlands, IF (b) Joran tells where Natalee's remains are. (They better watch the fine print on that one, though - Joran's "in the ocean" just can't be allowed to suffice. At whose expense would that recovery be, and how long before Aruba gets its hands into it?)

Wow!  I didn't know it was even being considered for Joran to serve his sentence in The Netherlands!  I thought any negotiations would only be for a better prison within Peru.  In the end this is likely a decision the three judge panel will make anyway but I do not want Joran to be able to go back to The NL at all.  They will release him or let him live in posh surroundings.

I hope he not only serves any sentence he receives in Peru but also in the high-altitude prisons where it is bitterly cold and has no heat, electricity for the prisoners and they have to buy their own food if they have enough to eat.

According to facial features such as eyebrows, pointed nose and deep eyes, Dutchman Joran Andreas Petrus van der Sloot (23) is a smart, cold and manipulative. Okay...the drug is a muscle relaxer....a light dosage...? maybe why she had her head hung down in the video while Joran was getting the keys and even in the walk to the room?

She didn't have her head up and they weren't talking...maybe she was in a relaxed state and that's why she wasn't holding her head up.

She wasn't stumbling, etc., not that bad...but maybe relaxed.
