He would have killed for money

New hypothesis. Police points to the bank accounts of Stephany Flores. Agents of the Homicide Division say Joran van der Sloot was able to force the girl to withdraw money or make a bank transfer.

One week before the murder of Tatiana Flores Stephany Ramirez, the police still can not decipher a great mystery: why this crime. However, officers of the Homicide Division who boast of not discarding any hypothesis, now point to the bank accounts of the victim.

Researchers are almost convinced that, after being seduced by Joran van der Sloot, the young woman was allegedly forced him to make withdrawals of cash or bank transfer.

It is likely that the decline has been beaten to death on the morning of May 30.

Yup, I really believe she went with with Joran willingly under the guise of getting her money back.

Good morning Jo-An.
Thanks for the information.
My gawd - forced to withdraw money?
I wonder if the term seduced, means she was drugged and not under her own will?

I don't think the cover up will fall like a house of cards at all because no matter what is found to have happened, Aruba/Netherlands won't do anything to anybody no matter how badly the may have deliberately obstructed justice.

Aruba will say they are conducting an investigation and then do nothing or even say mistakes were made, what a shame and not do anything at all.  Not to anybody even if they participate to the extent of disposing of remains.

The only way I think anything would ever actually be done is for Interpol to do it and they have to be "invited" and we know Aruba will never do that nor will the Dutch order it done.  I wonder if the U.S. could ask for an Interpol investigation into corruption now with Aruba allowing Joran to sneak off the island with the extradition warrant due any day?

Blood on shirt 'vampire' Joran

It says they found blood of stephany with luminol on his clothes, in the bathtub and on the bed. And traces on the pokerchips from the casino.

Good morning Nut,
I think it's possible that Stefany purchased a new laptop that her Dad gave her money for, and left it in her car.  Joran drove the car when he left the hotel and took what he wanted from it.  imo

While it would be more evidence, I wish and hope they have Joran's laptop.

Morning, Can and belatedly to all.

Sure sounds like Grand Theft--Auto to me as well.  I mean since they need robbery to apply the life sentence.

I have been wondering how he got the money Stephany had just won, the alleged $5,000.  Maybe it was in the form of poker chips, like ones for large amounts of $1000 each so she could have only been carrying five chips or so?  And Joran wanted to steal those chips and cash them.

Just thinking outloud. . . off to get breakfast now.

Hi Anna.  Yes, they've got their extenuating circumstances to lock him up for life.  25-35 years is too good for Joran (not that I believe he'd survive that in their prison system)

I so want them to have his laptop.  It may lead to Natalee.

Aruba is a gutter, I think I was there at the very end of the glory days - when tourists were really treated well. But from my first visit to my last - I saw the changes. Believe it or not - tourist used to be considered paying customers - not like today's entitlement to American dollars.

Now it's robbery, drug dealers on every corner in Chollerstad, faulty ATV and diving equipment, and if you all remember the pics and video from Beth and Greta's last visit it has turned into a super-sized slum.

Let's not forget all the drunk driving and the tourist that was killed and Jerry Strawberry's vehicular homicide. And he wasn't even giving a breathalyzer.

Got it. Beth on Greta, November 19, 2008:

HOLLOWAY: Yes. And Greta, I was just wanting to say that, you know, like I said, it's been a long time, but it's never too late for justice. And I'd be good with a "Midnight Express" prison anywhere for Joran.

a one year sentence is a death sentence for Joran. He's not going to last a year in that prison. He's soft - like a marshmellow. I take great joy in knowing that.

Judicial inquiry into Joran can take years

THE HAGUE - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a booklet 'Arrested in Peru' off. Below follows a number of facts, which are expected to apply to the situation of Joran van der Sloot. The brochure shows inter alia that the judicial inquiry into van der Sloot may take up to 36 months.

- Release on bail is virtually impossible.  Foreigners are rarely released on bail, because they might flee.

 - Lawsuits are public.  Three judges are considering a case.  All three pieces of a sentence.  Conviction by two of the three is sufficient for a conviction and sentencing.  Both the accused and the prosecutor may appeal against a higher sentence.

 - The president of Peru can pardon.  Requests for clemency may after serving one third of the sentence.  Pardon is granted only in special circumstances, such as serious illness.

 - Prison staff speaks only Spanish.

 - A Dutch prisoner will receive 30 euros per month from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 - Medical care in prisons is limited to the minimum, the quality is generally poor.  Tuberculosis, hepatitis and other infectious diseases are common.

 - A foreign prisoner has no right to (pilot) leave.
 - Prisons are overcrowded in Lima, making a lot of extra stress and difficult situations.

- It is not possible if to sit out your sentence  in a Dutch prison if your convicted in Peru.

 - The brochure provides a glossary of some practical Spanish phrases.  Some examples from this chapter: 'Tengo problemas con mi companero the celda.''(I'm having problems with my cellmate.), Cumplir su condena.''(Serving his sentence.), Grado de la pena.''(Punitive) .

aruba is a garbage dump and i will continue  every chance i get  in any way possible explaning to people that its a killing ground.

 ** it sucks **

gutless - everyone of them that was involved in the  dis-investigation and mis information campaign. not a single one of them actually did any good, just more cover ups time after time.

now, back to the slug joran for a moment, after watching the video of the two of them going
into the hotel room, i suspect that he maybe told her some lies and was extorting her
in the way that he was telling Beth that for some $$$$ he would reveal something
course, he might have told her anything  - he is a dead punk walking

Anna, i dont think natalee was put in a cage either,

septic tank is where they will find her.... mooooooooooo
