I was wondering that too...maybe he started to clean up the mess but it was too much..so he just packed his stuff and ran (answer to buckshot too as to why he got caught with so much evidence) no time to think, although in Aruba, others did all the thinking and cleaning for him... IMO

Kermit..I agree with you that it would take an act of brute force, far more than a tennis racquet could inflict, to break someones neck. Thank god this guy is locked up..too bad he wasn't locked up 5 years ago Sad

OMG, I cannot believe that Valentijn is out partying right when they discovered his brother murdered again.  Wonder if Anita and Sabastian are there with him?  Sick.

I don't really see Joran being put is the maximum security, less crowded prison as much of favorable treatment because we have read it can take up to two years to ever get to trial.  It would be a national embarrassment for Peru for him not to live to even stand trial.

Let's see where he ends up after he is tried and sentenced.  Now that I would be interested to know.  It didn't bother Peru one bit that Lori Benenson (sp ?) complained globally for years about freezing and no hot water, etc. the whole time she was in one, I think 8 years.

Or, looking at it another way--maybe they have really cut Joran lose this time.  I mean, how many people does he have to kill before his family finds it a bit offensive?

Think how devastated most people, normal people, would be if this happened to them that a member of their immediate family was thought to have done something so horrific!

In regard to "green" bruises:  a bruise is caused when trauma to an area causes blood to gather at the spot of trauma, initially, the bruise is red for a few minutes; as the blood loses oxygen, the bruise turns blue for a few days; as the blood breaks down, the bruise turns green for a few days and then yellow for a few days before the bruise goes away.

A tennis racquet would most likely have caused the bruises and the way her knees and feet have bruises seems like she was on her knees - maybe trying to fight him off. Breaking of the neck was either brute strength or he could have thrown her and she hit something then slumped down behind the side of the bed - dead.


Keep in mind she was dead approximately 2 and a half days before she was found, so I think they are referring to the many colors bruises turn after you get them. I've had those bruises turn green after a couple of days.

Thanks for the explanation....mine just seem to go from purple to yellow...never seen green...

so those may have been the first blows ? knocking her down of maybe dragging her across something hard...just thinking out loud

Her legs were folded. But they did not say under her. I wonder?

She must have been begging for mercy.
I think they meant her knees were bent and she was laying on her side, like she crumpled after the final blow was administered.
