Did anybody say she was educated?  At any rate she publicly apologized and she had better mean it; not meaning it would show a marked lack of education.

Darleen - while it's 'nice' that she sort of apologized (the above jpg shows her actual words), this is the tip of the iceberg with her.  It would take seconds to find some other vile quote she's made about Beth. It would take seconds to find her repeated lies and misstatements. In fact, someone has posted a list of her lies on the 'net somewhere, maybe Klass has the link. I think they stopped updating it in 2007...

He was with women in Colombia

Joran van der Sloot arrived in Lima on May 14, but a week before he was in Bogota, Colombia, where he went to casinos and surrounded himself with women, some of which have disappeared and are wanted by the police.

"During his stay abroad he stayed in two hotels in Bogotá", published a local newspaper, which tells us that there are several girls who are as non-gotten.


On the other hand, in the next few hours come to Lima, Anita van der Sloot, Joran's mother, from Aruba. On Sunday she spoke with her son, who assured him: "I have not been. I am being accused. I am innocent."

Now that a confession has been made,CNN reports that van der Sloot may be formally charged as early as Tuesday.

I am also a little skeptical that the confession happened so quickly.  But maybe when faced with an airtight case, a refusal to extradite, a long sentence in a Peruvian prison, and no Daddy to help, maybe Joran gave up the info in exchange for a shorter sentence.  He has little, if any, leverage in Peru.
