My heart is broken for this family.  That is all I can say at this moment.  Another precious child taken from us.  My heart is broken... Crying or Very sad

Body of Missing Girl Found

Feb 3, 2007 06:10 PM PST

Kaitlin Aydell

Livingston Parish Sheriff's Detectives are on the scene where investigators found the body of a young girl. Police have confirmed the body is that of 13-year-old Kaitlin Aydell of French Settlement, who had been missing since Thursday.

Livingston Parish Sheriff Willie Graves says detectives found the body just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday off of Hwy. 936 in Ascension Parish - that's in St. Amant near Gonzales.

Kaitlin Aydell was last seen Thursday afternoon. On Friday morning, deputies arrested 39-year-old Mark Sterling Lewis, Kaitlin's cousin by marriage. Lewis is charged with obstruction of justice. Sheriff's Deputies say he lied about where he was the day Kaitlin disappeared.

Detectives say Lewis had scratches on his face when they found him.

Lewis was previously arrested in 1995 for kidnapping. He served two years of a seven year sentence for that charge. At this point, Lewis is not a suspect in Kaitlin's disappearance

Very nice picture. I'm so sorry this little girl ever met this Lewis freak. Hopefully soon he will be charged with her murder, but that won't bring this child back to her mother. She's God's angel in Heaven now...She has touched so many lives already...

Prayers for her soul, for her mother, family, and friends. Prayers for all who have done what they could to find her. Prayers for all the monkeys. Prayers for Natalee and her family and friends.

Do you think these people choose to be that warped? Or are they like this due to their mental illness, their torment? Something in them thinks these kinds of things are OK?

It's what they WANT to do. It's what their URGE is. "Normal sex" might not even be possible ... I wouldn't say it's exactly a "choice" but I think it's possible that some of these people struggle with it.

Whether they think it's OK - probably depends on a lot of things.

I think some are remorseful enough that they commit suicide - sooner or later. (If they aren't caught.)

On the other hand, some display no remorse at all and enjoy reading about their exploits.

Please don't misunderstand me. My point - and I do have one - is that these people aren't "curable" - it's the way they are. Nothing will ever change them. They need to be taken off the streets and out of society forever.

I had posted this earlier in the MP thread and on the MP blog

UPDATE V: Confirmation that the body is that of Kaitlin Aydell

http://www.scaredmonkeys.net/viewtopic.php?p=113936#113936

We have extremely sad news to report in the case of missing Kaitlin Aydell. Upon learning that an unidentified body was found we called Tim Miller.

We do have confirmation that the body found by volunteers is that of 13 year old Kaitlin Aydell. We just spoke with Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch and was notified of the sad news.

Tim Miller asked for everyone to please keep the family of Kaitlin Aydell and the community in their prayers. At the very least Kaitlin will be brought home to her family.

Kaitlin, rest in peace and God Bless.

I could be very wrong, but I think I read where LA recently abolished the death penalty.  I'll try to check this out.  Have lost my internet connection twice in the last 20 minutes.  Arrrrgh.

All best wishes to you this coming Friday.  I will remember you in prayer.

ANtoher thing is the lack of discipline.

What we are seeing in some younger people (that aren't so young anymore) is a product of the society being permissive with our young to the point where they have lost to think critically. THey take no responsibility for their actions at all.
THis trend is becoming pervasive in our society on all levels.
In the mentally deranged, such as a predator..they've been left to run amock. Even the judges won't discipline them.

Used to be when "Johhny" was caught with Porn, a trip out to the woodshed was all it took to straighten him out in most cases.

Heck, now they are trying to pass a law that spanking your child is a jailable offense!

A young child is much like a puppy in that without proper training, discipline and respect they grow into wild, uncontrollable, biting animals that eventually have to be destroyed for the good of the society.

Mind you, I am NOT in favor of beating a child OR an animal. But a stern verbal correction can also do the trick.
I actually had a friend bring her brat (several years ago) to Thanksgiving dinner at my home where this kid (4 years old) proceeded to climb onto the table with all the food and jump up and down. My hubby sternly told him NO! Get DOWN NOW!

The Mother turned to him and said," We don't tell Mikey NO. IT will hurt his self-esteem".
Needless to say, they were never invited again.

This darling went on to set their house on fire one day which was the most serious of his offences I knew of til we lost touch a few years later.
He must be in his twenties now and I often wonder what sort of Monster he turned into.

Artcolley, parents these days are taking the easy way out by not being harder on their kids, making them accountable, responsible...so many parents are both working and they are so busy with getting their kids to and from their activities, etc. or single parents trying to work 2 and 3 jobs to take care of their kids...the video games are the babysitters, many times, and many of these are charged with violence and rage...

Have any of you ever seen the movie "Thirteen?" It was on about a week ago on DirectTv...I think on the IFC. I saw it several years ago before my daughter turned a year old. It's about a 13 yo girl who is an innocent child and she gets in with this popular girl who dresses in hot clothes, steals from the boutiques in LA, drinks and does drugs, has body piercings and tattoos, has sex for drugs and money...This little girl went downhill in just a few months and got into it big time. She was even cutting herself. This movie sent chills up my spine and I was in fear of what the world would be like when mine got that age. It's heartbreaking...

Fox was just covering the Amish school tragedy and there were a couple of folks from the Amish Community on. Their attitude was that although they didn't understand the reasons, God allowed it to happen and that He had a purpose for doing so. They cited their faith as helping to ease the pain and insisted that some of the money they received be given to the family of the shooter.

Sometimes I think my faith is strong, but when I hear something like that, I'm not so sure.

It's absolutely amazing how they were immediatley so forgiving and gracious regarding the tragedy that happened to their children...It's almost unfathomable. We sure need to take some lessons from them!

i will be the first to admit, i could not do it....

forgiveness is a funny thing for me...

i can forgive lots of things, especially when things that happen that are NOT on purpose....but out right EVIL....

i cant

YOu are right.
I think the hardest  and most important job a person can have is properly raising children.

I didn't see the movie "thirteen"...sounds like it would be very troubling.
But, all this stuff goes one everyday somewhere.

Truly a sad state of affairs

Our children are the only future of mankind.

We have good people here who are dedicated to make the world better one step at a time and sometimes lots of tears.

We will regroup again and figure what to do next so one step at a time can be done and pretty soon we all have traveled far.

Oh H*&*I&* there just aren't any good words or the words are very hard.

Love ya all.... When we gather together over this and others, football games, new cars, big homes aren't that important as our children and adults safety and survival.IMO

Bye... off to find some sleep.
