kids are funny, some are just hoping their parents say "no" occasionally

you have to be consistent and no when to give and when NOT to give

 Cool

I agree, and also teaching children that THEY also have the absolute right to say NO.

Well, there's one thing about it - if this Mark Lewis turns out to be the guy, he doesn't have a bargaining chip on giving up the location of her body.

Fox was just covering the Amish school tragedy and there were a couple of folks from the Amish Community on. Their attitude was that although they didn't understand the reasons, God allowed it to happen and that He had a purpose for doing so. They cited their faith as helping to ease the pain and insisted that some of the money they received be given to the family of the shooter.

Sometimes I think my faith is strong, but when I hear something like that, I'm not so sure.

It's absolutely amazing how they were immediatley so forgiving and gracious regarding the tragedy that happened to their children...It's almost unfathomable. We sure need to take some lessons from them!

i will be the first to admit, i could not do it....

forgiveness is a funny thing for me...

i can forgive lots of things, especially when things that happen that are NOT on purpose....but out right EVIL....

i cant

I agree with you robots.  I will never forgive people like this.  They are evil and as far as I'm concerned they don't deserve a trial just executve them.

YEs,you are right.
You know, you can't love someone you don't respect. Now, if kids don't respect their parents just where are they supposed to learn love?
I think a lot of parents want their kids to be their "friends". Well, they often do become your best friends when they are adults, but when they are kids, there has to be a delineation of Parent/Child relationship.

Strange, animals don't have to be taught how to raise their young, lol!

Personally I like that guy in Arizona that passes out the pink underwear to the inmates and feeds the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and makes them live in tents.

I'm thinking an isolated island with no support systems....put them on a boat and each month....slow down near the island....dump them in the water and leave them there....all of them all by themselves...

That's what we were trying to tell my 5 yo niece the other day. That just because someone has an idea, she doesn't have to follow. If she knows that it's wrong, she can say NO!
