Finally caught up. First a web site for anyone interested in learning more about Trisomy 13.

http://www.livingwithtrisomy13.org/

And can anyone translate what is said in Diario's cartoon today?

It says,

1. "fire up the pot, We're having Joran for dinner!"

2. "Aruba to Peru: How did you get him when we have all this evidence locked away here??"

Isn't 6/10 exactly 5 years to the day that he "confessed" what happened to Natalee, that later he withdrew, as he is doing now, withdrawing testimony he made and claiming victimization.

Sorry I'm probably late ... reading back.  But that's what "glenda" said on RU.

Ugh ... I threw up a little bit in my mouth!

Oh, Angie; that baby has died.  Trisome 13 is fatal, and they never live long.

I am so sorry, Darlene.  I have seen many positive videos of parents caring for older children with trisomy 13.  It is amazing the fortitude, determination, and love seen in these parents and families.

Being thrown in the world of special needs sure opens your eyes to the goodness of others, completely contrary to what we have seen in this cage.  Children with special needs, however, have a more than two times the rate of being abused, which is no doubt more than that, as their communication abilities are impaired.

LOOKS LIKE THE 'COWBOYS" LOCKED HIM UP!

That's for sure.  Not only did the "cowboys" hunt him down, arrest him and throw him in jail.  They got him to confess and cry for his mommy.  Then they took him to the Attorney General who locked him up in maximum security to await his trial.

That comment from Karin Jannsen so long ago always stuck in my craw.  I hope she's eating her humble pie now.  Those "cowboys" as she derisively referred to "American's" would have saved Ms. Jannsen the guilt trip she's living through today -- for having failed to put away a murderer before he took another life.

Yes, Karin, that's right, "cowboys." Or, as Hat put it in that unforgettable post, if not cowboys --then "a squad of American moms."

Wonder how many other criminals are getting steak and cigarettes, is it because he is special? WTH

There was an article way back that said there were 117 dutch in Peru prisons.  Hope the embassy brought them each a black bag of goodies as well to solidify their statement that all citizens in foreign countries are treated the same by the embassy

More insight on Altez's plans for a defense now up on CNN....

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/06/10/peru.murder.case/index.html?hpt=T3

..."The lawyer said he has spoken with the director of jails in Lima to make sure van der Sloot is safe once he is moved to one of the city's maximum-security prisons.

Altez said he planned to ask the judge in the case to strike down van der Sloot's confession, because he was not properly represented when he was interrogated.

The attorney said police got a public defense attorney to be present at the interrogation and subsequent confession, but that van der Sloot never agreed to this lawyer.

Altez also said he has found indications that the handling of the evidence was tainted, especially the way the body was handled during the crime scene investigation.

He intends to go to trial, Altez said.".....

I think it was Bo Dietl who was on O'Reilly the other night discussing the FBI's extortion sting in Aruba and both he and O'Reilly agreed that it was Aruba who inexplicably (to them, although we know how corrupt they are) dropped the ball on this one.  I think they said the Aruban government has to give permission to the FBI to make the arrest there.

Yes, I saw that, darleen. However, most news media picked up Aruba's slant. It was out there first and a simpler soundbite. The real story takes some in depth knowledge and a closer look at details. It's the same as in politics. Most people aren't news junkies, and the best soundbites become perception. The devil is always in the details.

And everyone credits Greta is the "authority" to be believed on this case and she was the very first to flaunt that theory to the media.

I was just thinking last night that Greta ended up in her position following the OJ trial...that debacle.....(please correct me if I'm wrong...)

You know, that was the first I had ever heard or seen Greta but I don't remember her stance on OJ's guilt or innocence.

ummmm I wonder if one of those women was anita, using her maiden name?  I haven't seen or read one reference to her other than she is there?  I can't imagine the media hasn't tracked her down.........but she is probably staying with someone from the Embassy so as not to have to be in a hotel.

Van der Sloot Stephany Flores planned to put in a suitcase and throwing it into the sea
June 10, 2010

Joran van der Sloot, the young Dutchman who confessed to killing the Peruvian Stephany Flores, and suspect in the disappearance of American Natalee Holloway, he planned to rid the body of his victim in Lima placing it in a suitcase and throwing it on the sea, but not given time, reported the Peruvian newspaper El Comercio.

The newspaper, citing investigators in the case, "Van der Sloot told the police he planned to disappear Stephany's body out to sea in a suitcase. However, it is discouraged because, he said, had no time to go search a suitcase or know where to buy it. "

The Dutchman confessed to police that killed Flores, 21, on Sunday 30 May in the hotel room where he was staying in the district of Miraflores, after having met playing poker at a casino.

The burly Dutchman Flores strangled with his hands and hit her violently with his elbow in the face, said General Cesar Guardia, head of the Criminal Investigation Department of Police.

On the other hand, El Comercio reported Thursday that, according to van der Sloot's lawyer, Flores struck first Dutchman in the room, was surprised when using your computer.

The lawyer, Max Highness, said he would try to cancel the van der Sloot confession and to provide a new declaration.

I just found a little info on her after posting....she was a civil and criminal attorney and started being a legal analyst for Ted Turner in 1991.  I guess I just remembered seeing her during the OJ trial....now, I don't remember if it said she was working for Fox at that time or not.  I'd have to go back and find it again, Ono.

Respect for life in the garbage (if Joran Van Der Sloot)

Since last May 30 the media talking about a single event, the finding of the body of Tatiana Flores Stephany Ramirez, daughter of businessman Ricardo Flores, one of the rooms located on the avenue TAC Republic of Panama in Miraflores district.

The manager, a 23-year-old Netherlands nationality called Joran Van Der Sloot, who after several investigations, this is a person with many police records, among which are those of murder, not only Stephany but Natalee Holloway , extortion Natalee's parents to inform them about the body of his daughter and cases of prostitution in Thailand.

After the murder of 21 year old, the Dutchman tried to flee the country opr l south, coming to Chile, where thanks to the support of the authorities of that country, could be captured and taken to Peru. Once here, the stories were really incredible part of it, so that self proclaimed innocent. However, after much questioning, Van Der Sloot confessed to the homicide experts from the National Police and the Public Ministry, have been the murderer of the young Stephany Flores.

Today, amid tight security, Van der Sloot was transferred to the Public Ministry lockup, where ue made available to the Criminal Prosecution Lima 40, by Ninfa Espinoza. Reportedly, Evans would make the complaint in question for murder, which carries a maximum penalty of 35 years.

All this long history, which proved to be an unscrupulous character who has no respect for the life of anybody or anything, you can follow it in: Trading

Making sure he doesn't pass any of his STDs on to his prison "girlfriends"?

Kidding!  I think Joran will be the first to scream "abuse! abuse!"  and Aruba would then have some kind of grounds to pull him back home and baby him in a posh prison setting.  I mean for heaven sake - he's been set up as far as they are concerned.  Those mean Peruvians and Americans!

Peru is just crossing it's t's and dotting it's i's.

Dutchman's Advocate: "Stephany attacked first Joran van der Sloot"

Maximum Highness, the new attorney Joran van der Sloot, said it would seek to invalidate the statement given by the citizens Netherlands to the police, where he was forced to confess to killing Stephany Flores.

Counsel contended that his client will request that is terminated by a violent emotion homicide, punishable by a maximum of nine years.
