On Saturday I got a  Little Red Love Machine!

A '97 Special Edition Honda Accord ~ original owner, 77,000 miles, CD player, nice sound system, moon roof, leather and that woodgrain heavy stuff on the dash, trim and steering wheel ~ dealership maintainence record that my mechanic could look through, all original paint, no door dings even... sleek, sexy body styling, lots of power, handles beautifully...  silver exhaust pipe...  black underbody trim...  I'm going to get the windows tinted...  it'll look real nice then...

Congrats Katz!!  I did get the email, but I've been SO busy, I haven't been able to respond...

The car sounds good.  Get a good deal on it?

And yeah...  just getting it was a good deal ~ I dealt to a guy last night who works for Honda ~ and he said "hold on to it ~ that car is really special!"  And yeah ~ I got a good deal on the car too...

He and his friends ~ especially the guy with the long hair and neat little beard, big dark eyes and long eye lashes...  were wonderful to deal to all night...  it was a good night...

Now I just read that the caller from Indai (with the bad accent, no less) was none othert then SandraK...formerly of this board.  Is that correct??  Proves my point...

It's like this...you work for Macy's department storeone day...then you get fired next.  You look around, but the only job you can find is at the $.97 store.  So, you put on your "SandraK" name tag, and you peddle phat laces, wrapping paper, and Fanta orange sodas.  Now, tell me, where would you rather shop??

Let's just say that "RU" is the $.97 store of internet blog sites, and call it a day...

JR STATEMENT - SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
 
1.  On July 14, 2006 at 10:26am PST Debbie at BFN posted a statement Julia Renfro made to the police.  That statement implied that Julia Renfro had been paid to make the statement to ALE.
 
2.  That same day, Dana Pretzer did his radio show to discuss this statement.
 
3.  It just so happens, that Red was was out of town and was not aware that a Statement had been posted.  In fact, Red didn't know Dana did his show Friday night on it and didn't find out about the Statement until Saturday afternoon.
 
4.  On July 15, 2006 Red became aware of the statement.  After reading the statement he felt the statement regarding JR getting paid seemed odd.
 
5.  On July 15, 2006 at 7:04pm PST Red emailed me the statement in Dutch and I offered to try and translate it.
 
6.  On July 15, 2006 I spent a couple hours working through different translators making absolutely certain that the last statement regarding JR getting paid was incorrectly translated.
 
7.  On July 15, 2006 at approx 9:30pm PST I informed Red that the statement posted at BFN was incorrect and the last sentance in particular was completely wrong.
 
8.  On July 15, 2006 at approx 9:30pm PST Red notified the family that there was a problem with the statement.  At 10:26pm PST I emailed the completely retranslated statement to Red.  At 10:26pm PST I created the correction document posted at SM which was then forwarded to the family.
 
9.  On the evening of July 15, 2006 the family requested that Red hold off posting the correction until they did more research.  The family was to call Red back with the OK to post the correction.
 
10.  On July 16, 2006 at 5:24pm PST Debbie at BFN posted the corrected statement translated by Rammstein.
 
Red had notified the family 20 hours prior to Debbie posting the correction.  Red would have posted the correction 20 hours sooner but was waiting for the OK from the family.


THE SAD PART ABOUT THIS ENTIRE EPISODE IS THAT THE STATEMENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SOLVING THE CASE.  IT HAS BECOME A DISTRACTION.

WE SHOULD BE DISCUSSING THE RECENT DIARIO ARTICLES REGARDING UNDER AGE PORN VIDEOS BEING TRANSMITTED VIA THE INTERNET, IMO.

Are you saying that someone posted something about Renfro being paid by the ALE to make a statement, but it was a misunderstanding because the statement (Renfro's I assume?) was not translated correctly?

Forgive me, but this is one of those drive-bys.

Was anyone else disturbed by what transpired the last two nights or am I alone in my sick feeling?

Naw, just human fralties; ie: egos, competition between boards; who has the best source and best info, disrespect for posters by withholding information from them, etc., etc.  

I realize that people all have "clay feet" (a biblical reference), truely I do; however, I just hope other people realize this also.

It has actually kept me up late at night thinking and praying about it, as I wish everyone the very best.

Klaas - thanks for the explanation about the Renfro statement translation issues. I missed most of this over the weekend; however, I did read the comments re. Dana's program.

I was leery about that part of the statement to begin with. We know that ALE has some Keystone Kops, but it would really be stupid to document accepting a payment.

You're right, it is a distraction - but also (yet another) cautionary tale. Somebody actually took the trouble to plant a false story.

What is it about this case that has every species of worm climbing out of their cans?
