It's quite amazing that this forum has been so alive for so long -- about 14 months now. Most days you can log on and find that the most recent comment was made no more than three minutes earlier. It's only in recent months that the conversation has gone down overnight -- and even now it only goes silent for four or five hours.

If it takes a little chit chat to keep it so alive, so be it. I personally could do without the cat pictures   but I just scroll past them.

One thing's for sure: when anyone comes on here and brings up a point about the case, the whole board focuses instantly.

We'll know when it's over. It isn't over yet.

I agree with you XXX
I care deeply about Natalee's disappearance and her family but I also now care about many of the monkeys that I have had the pleasure of getting to know over the last year.  If it were not for the off topic conversations I would never have felt these connections or the need to come and check in once in a while.  I do not have the time or resources to contribute as much as others and when I do it is often off topic.  I guess maybe those posts bother some people so I apologize...

My biggest motivation is seeing this case solved for the family's sake.  I think the competition between boards is really silly and childish and while I will admit reading on other sites from time to time this is the only one I will post on because of the quality of people who choose to post here.  I hope my off topic posts don't rub people the wrong way!

That's what I was trying to say Valerie.  Whatever helps keep the chain from breaking...I'm all for it.  If it happens to be cat pictures...or shots of a certain posters' glory days playing pool...or talk of "clear pee" (which, I was, in fact, a part of that conversation...but it was innocent none-the-less).  It doesn't really matter...just so long as it eventually brings us all back to the task at hand.  And, that is, obtaining justice for Natalee.  And again, as you so eloquently stated Valerie...once the topic shifts back, everyone is ready to take care of business.  That's what's most important here...

Regarding the Renfro statement I have posted this at my podcast page.
It has been there for a day and today I will remove the audio.
For clarification it has now been determined that the document alledging Julia Renfro was paid for giving a statement was not translated properly,any indication that the document was authentic and spoken about during the show is not correct. However many many questions still need to be answered.
My apologies for any confusion.

Mistakes can happen but clarification must be done by those who post such articles.

Regarding the email "circulating" from BFN, even though my name is mentioned, I did not receive the email. I tried to register over there because I wanted to read but because of a computer glitch, I couldn't. A few weeks ago, Debbie emailed me and had the problem worked out and I was registered. I went over there ONE time, read for five minutes and left. I didn't post there. This is the only place I post. And how in the world did I get on that porn email list?

I find Debbie to be a VERY FINE person and very helpful.

Yes, my email address is hidden. There was a notice that I had one new message and I opened it and there was the Asian man. I don't believe I caught a virus from opening the message on the BFN site. In any event, I have my "protection" software set up to alert me immediately and halt all Internet traffic when a virus appears.

I'm never going back there again.

I also registered there way back when and received an email a few weeks ago that I was now registered and could post but I never went back.  It was during my "break" I took from the case and now it seems I am glad I did not go when I had the chance...

Can someone post or E-mail a short recap.. of what has been going on please.  I felt had to take a short break and now of course well behind on everything.

JR statement .. corrected version posted anywhere ? I did see where "gave her the money" was corrected  BUT what about the "because I was paid by the police" and the damned time/date errors? Sorry
