Maybe tomorrow will shed some light on the activities in Aruba and what if anything we can expect from there with regard to the two new searches or the two old searches or whatever they are doing.

Lisa Pulitzer's long-incubating book on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, which St. Martin's Press signed five years ago, has just been put on an accelerated schedule. With the prime suspect in Holloway's case, Jordan van der Sloot, back in the headlines for his involvement in the death of another woman, Pulitzer, a New York Times correspondent, is expected to deliver the book in 2011 after not having a hard delivery date.

Pulitzer, who's co-writing the book with Cole Thompson (A Deadly Game: The Untold Story of the Scott Peterson Investigation), has been researching the Holloway case for years. She's currently headed to Peru to look into the disappearance of Stephany Flores, the woman van der Sloot recently admitted killing. SMP is saying Pulitzer's book "promises to be the definitive work on the two cases." The publisher is also promising that that the book will reveal a wealth of new information about van der Sloot, a figure who's captivated both the traditional and tabloid media.

Well. That's just a hell of a mistake to make.

I don't think there is anywhere to look up Aruban law.  Besides it keeps changing, lol.

Maybe some of our Dutch posters can translate this as I think it may be Dutch code on murder with regard to statute of limitations.

Hi Anna,

was reading back and found your post.

They changed the law of "periods of prescription" or "prescriptive periods" back in 2005.
They eliminated the limitation period when it comes to very serious crimes (i.e. murder and "some other crimes" according to the new law).
The new law took effect Jan. 1st 2006.
