Could this image be the first first time that Joran left the room ... left the room to get coffee and pastrys?

The security video segment that has been shown doesn't make sense.  It reveals Joran leaving the room with two coffee cups ... closing the door and ... then immediately attempting to re-enter prior to getting assistance.

Klaas ... could you please repost the security video that reveals Joran with the coffee cups.

He was amazing. ... He was romantic," the 23-year-old said of her former boyfriend and first love, in an exclusive interview to air on "20/20" Friday. "It was very playful, very honest. We could sit and talk for hours. We liked looking into each other's eyes."

The couple met at a mutual friend's birthday party in Aruba in October 2003 and dated for seven months. The 16-year-old quickly fell head over heels in love with 17-year-old van der Sloot -- the man she calls "Chi Chi" or "Mr. Wiggles."

We know crime is everywhere. At the Olympics in Atlanta there were goodwill ambassadors on the corner directing people to better places and helping people avois the skectchy area. Aruba could take a lesson here on how to respectfully treat the people who pay their wages, literally.

klaas - I noticed the kitchen appliances in the videos of Joran and Stephany entering the hotel. I remember thinking that the microwave on top of the fridge seemed odd and wondered if I was seeing it right. Anyway, I was ... perplexed? ... at the original story about Joran going next door for coffee - why, if it was available right there?

Also, the hotel lists "Complimentary Breakfast" as an amenity. Probably of the coffe & bun variety.

I wonder if he got breakfast at all that morning? That would be on the surveillance tape, too. I think he claimed in the confession that he ate after he killed her. I'm not sure I believe that. His coffee and bread run was part of the scenario whereby he returned and found her on his laptop.

I for one don't think the laptop had a thing to do with what happened.

No one from the place he says he went for coffee has come forward to verify he was there.

Arubans to Interrogate Van der Sloot

Aruba's Chief Prosecutor Peter Blanken says he hopes to send a team to Peru to question Joran Van der Sloot before September.  The exact timing has not been determined yet, and Blanken reports that Aruban prosecutors will discuss the matter with police before deciding on a date.  He expects that two police officers and the public prosecutor assigned to the Holloway case, Mrs. Alivia Lugo, will make the trip to Peru  to question Van der Sloot about his statements on the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.

According to Blanken, Van der Sloot told Peruvian investigators that he wants to speak with Aruban Police to bring clarity to the Holloway case.  The Arubans have not yet filed a formal request with Peruvian authorities to send their investigative team, but Blanken says the Peruvians have indicated that they want to cooperate in the matter.

Without speculating on the veracity of Joran Van der Sloot's statement in Peru, Chief Prosecutor Peter Blanken says he hopes interrogating the Dutch national this time will close the case.  "I hope he is speaking the truth because we really want to solve this case, even after five years," Blanken said, "just to be clear on what happened and so the family knows what happened."  Since 2005, Van der Sloot has given Aruban authorities and international media several conflicting accounts of what happened the night Holloway vanished.

Could the second exit with the coffee cups have been a failed attempt at an alibi?  Was it planned that the room service attendant would then be a witness that Stephany was murdered while Joran was getting coffee?

However ... Joran realizes his plan was not to be when he spies the security camera while waiting outside the room door for the attendant.

Hello Monkeys I was trying to catch up on my reading today and I see where Dave went home and Aruba LE won't let any searches be done until they get more information from Joran or more sound information from him...well of course my mind was wandering to Natalee as it is alot (I have an 8 year old grand-daughter named Natalie) and I was thinking maybe The Powers that be in Aruba think that if THEY find Natalee when Dave, Tim, & the media are gone that they somehow can redeem themselves???
