"I just think we need to take a step back before we get to the 'I told you so' stage, and let's see what the evidence is here," Tacopina said Thursday.

Tacopina said he is not representing van der Sloot and no longer has a good relationship with the family.

.... Dietl, who was called by the attorney for the Halloway family in 2007 to work on the wrongful death lawsuit against the accused killer, told Good Day NY on Thursday that Van der Sloot contacted the lawyer in April.

"(John) Kelly was contacted by Van der Sloot who said my father died and I  want to tell you where the body of Natalee Halloway is buried," said Dietl.  John meets with me. I tell him this is an extortion set up. We contact the FBI office in Alabama. They tell him to tell me to back out,  we'll set it up.

A friend describes it as "arrogant" and a cousin who defends it said it would be "twisted", but tries an excuse: I think that Joran need help, because something is wrong with your head. "

Since last Friday, Van der Sloot is in the Miguel Castro Castro prison. That day he told officials he studied International Business INPE and had a business. He was referring to coffee may seem given in Thailand.

In his YouTube page saying instead: "I have a real job but I am a professional poker player."

Also shown in another video the Dutchman in a room, apparently of a Thai hotel, accompanied by girls from the area who offer a group of foreigners and is showing the rooms they would use, which would make clear to be a professional pimp.

In addition, and in the Castro Castro prison, the Dutchman showed his willingness to be extradited to Aruba to reveal where they found the body of the girl Natalee Holloway. He noted that he prefers to be on a Caribbean island prison where prison conditions are better than it has had in sharing the arena with the Colombian hitman Luis Ospina.

"This is hell", reportedly told his lawyer.

On the other hand, Anita Van der Sloot, mother of the Netherlands, sent a message to his son through his counsel, assuring him that he can not come to Peru to gather the necessary resources.

I don't know Kelly but I do know Bo and his reputation. He plays the fence. Couldn't make it in Homeland Security so he's getting whatever he can on the streets. Good prediction. They are already warming up to each other. But Joran is crafty and will lie to find out if he can trust the assassin (who probably intimidates Joran). I think the assassin is a plant... but we'll see.

I am very behind, as usual, but I wanted to know if there was anything else mentioned about Stephany sending a text that she was going into her bedroom as she was walking into Joran's room.  I thought that was odd and was curious, or was this a rumor early on?

The Dutchman is now 22 years arrested in Peru on charges of killing the young Stephany Flores. Five years ago, was suspected of killing Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

"If I could describe as an animal, I would say that I am a snake" he wrote in his profile on YouTube but then added: "I want to be a lion and someday I'll be a lion."

Caged lion is what it is now, at age 22. Van der Sloot remains confined in a Peruvian prison, afraid of his cellmates. His fall from grace has been precipitous. From the quiet young privileged Aruba, where he was a star tennis and soccer, shackled and escorted to prison by Peruvian police amid shouts of "murderer!"

But in the five years between the disappearance of Holloway and flowers, what was the life of Joran Van Der Sloot? How did a case of a missing girl in Aruba to a murder in Lima? Who is he?

Since it became known that Van der Sloot was a suspect in the murder of Flores, would spread rumors that he had left a trail of murdered girls as they pass through different countries. Tourism is an amateur who has crossed borders in Cambodia, Hong Kong, Venezuela and the United States.

Peruvian police called him a psychopath. A New York detective who worked with Holloway, Bo Dietl, considers him a homicidal maniac.

But no evidence has emerged that Van der Sloot was involved in any other case of a violent and does not look like your typical deranged loner. In fact have enough friends, girlfriends and enthusiastic supporters.

Not wanting to discredit what you are saying, but Bo Dietl was Bo before 9-1-1 and his services were very much in demand and as far as Bernie, he cleaned up NY City from the rat hole it was to a nice surviving place to visit.   We all have our shortcomings and Bo has been the unspoken hero in many parades and large events in NYC where the participants remained safe from an act of terror.

 "last week" is not specified by date but surely they have found proof of a flight or some other hard copy of the date, and the tournament did not have a stop in Columbia unless it was for VDS to obtain more money for the buy in.
I think there was a mention in an email JVDs sent to another friend, female, on May 25 where he was begging for money that he said he would return double to her when he got back to Aruba...when she refused he told her another friend was lending him 100 or 200 euros ( John Ludwick ? who he hadn't contacted yet? )and he was getting money from his mother and she ( the friend )should forget about it and go on and be successful in life.
 ( something similar- he was writing her off )

So there are a few different friends that were contacted within the dates where, if he had $10,000 on the 10th, he was down to zero ( he says he is hungry and needs to pay for hotel room ) or close to broke by the 25th.

I also saw in his confession that he said he had a $6.000 gambling debt...do you think it is possible he paid someone off to arrange a quick get away maybe thinking in advance he may be caught?

I see a few Arubans dropped off the planet at that time too, Eric Zandaam ( heart attack) and Vrojlik ( 31, heart attack- not sure if there was a connection to the earlier case - NH ) and did Vroljik work for ATA..travel agency?

Just seeing if there is a possible connection to the ex Police , Vroljik, the dates of death, and Jorans departure.

I have serious doubts about Joran actually ever having any plans/intentions on entering and playing in the Lima LAPT.  The poker tournament he had been playing in when he met Natalee and her friends, iirc, was just a regular, local Sunday afternoon tournament held every week at the casino in the Holiday Inn, not an actualy 'professional' type tournament.  I think it was routine for he and Paulus to play in that tournament on Sunday afternoons.

I've found myself wondering lately if perhaps he used some, if not all, of the money he extorted from Beth/JQK to pay Anita back for monies she had loaned/fronted him or even signed for or been liable for if he'd been using Paulus' lines of credit at the casinos, idk.  It's pure conjecture on my part, but it sure feels very "Joranistic" to me.

I think the message he left for Ludwick on the 10th shows that he was already making plans that day to get off the island, even though he didn't leave until the 13th.  I imagine that was due more to airfare and availability, etc.  (Again, pure conjecture.) 

Even more interesting, to me, is the complete and total lie he was telling about returning to his coffee shop in Thailand.  We already know he'd sold it for $12,000 when Paulus died and he was trying to get back to Holland, this according to the couple that bought it.  I'm more curious about that lie than most of his others, only because in my mind it points to the premeditation of killing again on the 5 year anniversary of Natalee's death.  That lie reveals his intention not to stay in Peru.  Hmmm.

I misspoke on Zaandam - he had a stroke as opposed to a heart attack.  I do think the stress of the activities involving Joran on the 10th could have been a factor there.  I do think, however, that the particular Vjrolik (Jaira?) has nothing to do with the case/Joran, but as always, I could be wrong.

Thanks for the reply. we know JVDs never registered for the tourny- but Elton Garcia, did, Joran's " new friend" whose cell number was on JVDS phone when he was in police custody and the person who purportedly alerted someone at the Atlantic city casino to call Joran's room on the morning he ( JVDS) did not show up for a " meeting/appointment" the two planned in advance. Garcia WAS in thew tournament, at least I saw a doc at RU ( I peekd) and he was on the line up. Garcia was staying at the TAC, and the lounge singer R Blades made a statement that VDS and Garcia were discussing women in a disrespectful manner at the casino..he also made a statement that he ( Blades ) alerted security at the casino to the notoriety of VDS identity-- this hasn't been corroborated by the casino in print to my knowledge.

I am mystified why Faro ( Harold, and wasn't he also a reporter during the NH case? Was he the one who was chasing men with machetes, etc, who had a blonde in the car that looked like NH in Aruba( was also broadcast over the radio- another fantasy, there on fantasy island ) would tell Deitl that Joran was in the tournament and playing in Columbia when that wasn't a stop on the official site- and bingo Joran was in Columbia and was there before May 14th- if he arrived in Peru on the 14th as they say.

So someone inserted Columbia into the mix, Joran was there prior to Peru, I guess because the plane took him direct to Columbia first...maybe by then they had his itinerary, and I never hold Aruban reporters to anything because the story changes daily...

Zandaam was a coincidence then, just like Paulus- but for some reason I expect a few other surprise "departures" before this is over.

The coffeepot ghost probably knew all about Thailand.
