Aruba is like the perineum of the world. Peru is like the ankle.

Anyone hoping that Aruba will finally do the right thing and solve this case is sorely mistaken.

Hmmm, I'd love for Peru to be the foot.....up Aruba's perineum.......just sayin'

Robin Holloway - December, 2007

Dave is currently on his way home to Meridian. Beth is on her way back also. They met with the KLPD and OM yesterday. I guess there is a miscommunication between interrogation and questioning. They had a lot of questions for Dave and Beth in efforts to help Natalee’s case and dispel a lot of nasty rumours. Also, Dave and Beth had a lot of questions for them too in regards to Natalee’s case. The meeting went well and they are working hard, but we don’t know what will happen next and pray this water search will turn up something.

As far as Julia, we have stayed in contact with her and she truly does care for Natalee and wants to know what happened to her as much as anyone else. Dave was able to meet with Mark for a little while last night while he was there and had a nice visit. It is good to know they are still there and willing to help. Please know they are still there too for Natalee ....

Yes I could tell that from his bashing posts.

That would be your opinion and now here is mine as to why Beth thought the foremost important thing to do when she arrived in Aruba was to establish Natalees character as one of a virginal, non-drinking, perfect teen.
Because that’s what sells!!!!
Your average run of the mill teenager who might have drank in the past or tried pot or even, God forbid, engage in sexual activity would get little to no press coverage.
Not that it should matter as to someone’s character or not, but apparently Beth felt that it was so she spun the tale that would later prove to be not so.
If Natalee is of the character described by her mother what on earth would she be going on this trip for, since all in MB where well aware of what the group would be doing during there senior trip due to the past years of other senior class’s from MB visiting Aruba, an all inclusive drink & eat as much as you can before you pass out party festival.
Was her role suppose to be one of the wallflower sitting in the corner by herself, reading her Bible while the rest of her classmates partied like rock stars?

He loves to bash Beth and Robin loves to read his bashing of Beth.

Something is wrong with this guy, too.  ~shaking head~

That is what he wants, someone who will not stop supporting him, someone whose pockets are deep, because when you run out, he has no use for you.  How does it feel to be used?  You are only a dollar sign to him, not a person.  If you don't willingly give up your bucks, he will kill you for them.

DAVE - when has working WITH the Aruban authorities done you any good?  Seriously, I'd like to know.

I think sometimes Dave's piety gets in the way of his wisdom.
I think that Dave is doing anything and everything he has to do for Natalee....whether he likes it or not. And I am sure that he doesn't like a whole lot of what he has had to do. He is a father looking for answers, and afraid not to go down every avenue to find them...even though I feel sure that he knows he will reach many dead ends.    JMO

Here's mine...

Steph,

Thank you for being on Aruba to help Tim and Dave and to report on Natalee's case.  I pray we are finally getting closer to resolution on this case and especially to bringing Natalee home to rest.

While you are on the island, perhaps you'll have time to check into what was done with the remains removed from the crab trap by the Aruban divers on January 7, 2008.  Tim Miller has said that he was told by Aruban officials that tests came back to show they were male human remains.  Now, that goes to show they were indeed human remains I think, but were they really male?  And if so, who's were they?  Doesn't that person's family deserve to know what happened to their loved one?  So many questions - no answers.

Thanks for what you are doing, Steph.  It's important work to a lot of us!

HARD UP FOR A LOAN ?

Attorney for Van der Sloot quits   Network News

By CARLA SALAZAR
The Associated Press
Tuesday, June 15, 2010; 4:05 PM

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/15/AR2010061503785.html

LIMA, Peru -- The recently hired Peruvian defense attorney for accused murderer Joran van der Sloot said Tuesday that he's quitting after receiving death threats.

"I've received threats, many threatening e-mails. ... This isn't for me," Maximo Altez told The Associated Press.

He would not describe the threats in a brief telephone conversation, saying only that he would stop representing the young Dutchman when members of Van der Sloot's family arrive in Peru in the next few days.

Police say Van der Sloot confessed last week to killing a 21-year-old Lima student, Stephany Flores, on May 30 in his hotel room after the two met playing poker at a casino.

Van der Sloot, 22, also remains the lone suspect in the disappearance exactly five years earlier in Aruba of U.S. teen Natalee Holloway. He was twice arrested and freed in that case for lack of evidence.

It was not known who will replace Altez. Dutch officials said before Van der Sloot was charged last week that his mother, a schoolteacher in Aruba, might have to borrow money in order to afford defense counsel. She has refused to talk to reporters.

I think we all feel that way about Dave.  Some are just a little frustrated that there have been times it seems that perhaps failing to learn from past mistakes or warnings of truth has delayed or even detoured justice.

I think whatever one's opinion on this doesn't change the fact that we're all on the same side for Natalee.

JULY 4, 2005

http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20148066,00.html

((snipped))

The portrait that emerges of Joran van der Sloot—an honor roll student and star athlete at the International School of Aruba—is of a popular teenager who "liked to party," says Kimberly Boekhout, a regular in the same social circles. "But he only wanted to party with American tourists. He liked girls with blond hair." Sjona Vrolijk, who knows him from the bar scene, says, "He has a funny personality that makes people like to be around him. And when he found a girl, he'd move very fast."

JUNE 2010
The new People Magazine on stands right now (I saw it but didn't buy it) as posted by Poochy at GM:

I went to the supermarket this morning and while in line I picked up a People Mag. "Justice for Natalee?" and a pic of Natalee is on the cover.

Here's a snippet:
"During this period (2008) his gambling continued. One Aruban acquaintance, Sjona Vrolijk, recalls him chatting up a woman in a casino. When they started to leave together, Vrolijk stopped the woman and said "Do you know who he is?" Then she mentioned the Holloway disappearance. "He called me a dumb bitch and told me to get away from them", she says. "He was scarey".

Looks like Sjona just says what people want to hear!

It's hard to be hopeful.

all they care about is that hard-drive. That's all. Obvious why too.

Hi can!

Hi Rob.  Always nice to see you.
I doubt there is info. pertaining to the whereabout of Natalee's remains.
If Joran has implicated folks on there, they will just do as they've always done and while it might validate all our theories, it won't bring Natalee home.

Here's the link - it was on Steph's radio show:

2/14/2010

Tim Miller on Steph Watts’ blog talk radio show “Watts Up With This?”

Quote
Steph:   “Tim Miller, other people are asking ‘are there any plans to search in the ocean?'  isn’t that like looking for a needle in a haystack in this case?"

Tim:  “Not really, not with the equipment that John Silvetti and Louis Schaefer have.  In fact, two years ago on December 30th we found a fish trap and we was almost positive it was Natalee’s body in the fish trap.  We dove on it along with the Aruban authorities and then they said they’ve got to contact the Netherlands to see how to preserve it and what to do with it, and we was all going to dive on it together.  The Aruban authorities dove on it and then six weeks later they said the DNA came back as a male.  So, did we find Natalee?  I don’t know.  It certainly looked like her clothes in that fish trap and again we know that the night Natalee disappeared the fishermen’s huts were broken into, a knife was stolen, the big fish trap was stolen, uh, and ironic we found one and I’ve actually got the pictures of that, you know, what certainly appears to be a body in that fish trap.  So, I don’t know.

I agree that Dave is doing everything he has to do.  Unfortunately, some of the people in Aruba have distracted Dave and had him go on wild goose chases.  Some of those that Robin considers her friends are actually obstructing the investigation IMO.

JVM on HLN just said that Aruba and Peru are working together to solve both cases.

First off, how can Aruba help Peru - they are a sovereign nation with their own laws, and Aruba has nothing to do with the Flores case. Aruba can contribute nothing to that case.

So, lemme aroobagoogle translate it for you - Aruba wants to muck up that case.

I humbly apologize Tylergal...piety may be a great word for Dave? I had second thoughts and decided to look it up..

Entry Word: piety
Function: noun
Meaning: 1 belief and trust in and loyalty to God <her piety is quiet but profound> — see faith 1
2 the quality or state of being spiritually pure or virtuous <among fellow clerics he is respected and admired for his piety>

I've only heard this word used in a negative context and it just didn't seem right to me... open mouth insert foot.. going back to my corner now Sad

Tim Miller has been there for what, about a week Lifesong? He hasn't been able to search anything yet.

This is the norm.

Aruba just jerks everyone around, hopes they get frustrated or run outta money and brush their hands of any attempt to find Natalee. So predictable.

And it goes to show how disingenuous they are about wanting to solve Natalee's case.

They don't search on their own and prevent anyone else from looking - sheesh, how many times does it take to understand all this?
