« Reply #2040 on: July 01, 2010, 02:39:31 PM »

Hello Monkeys, last night was pretty eventful and I couldn't stay in the cage. Sister's husband went to jail for punching her. I was up until 1:45 worrying like crazy. So, sorry if I am behind I have loads of work to do today. Have a great day and HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh goodness gracious JSM you must be dead tired.  Was your sister hurt bad?  OMG that is awful.  I feel so bad for the children.  I hope they are ok emotionally and physically.

Trying to post but every time I come around the computer the site is down.

We usually have a neighbourhood water fight that turns into a huge amount of fun havoc.  I see neighbours already have their buckets and hoses ready beside their house for the sneak attack.   In the evening we do a potluck at one of the neighbours and then go yard hopping as the one with the hottub lets everyone use it, the one with the in ground pool same, trampoline neighbour, etc.  There are fireworks ususally around 11:00pm when the sun is going down so the kids can get to bed after.
That sounds like so much fun!!!

I did, now I need to vacuum out the chair my husband sits in. He must miss his mouth when he snacks on that stupid chair, so many things have fallen into the cracks, especially popcorn.

It is a lot of fun.  The water fight started about 5 years ago when my kids snuck up on our neighbour as he was washing his truck, other neighbour saw it and snuck up from the other side and the fun began.  After everyone was wet someone decided to go to other neighbours, ring the doorbell and get them soaked and so on.  It is now a Canada Day tradition.  My kids have their water guns loaded, I have my front and back hose ready and have added an extra 50' hose to each cause you just don't want to run out of hose. You really get to know your neighbours after you blast them with a water hose when they are not expecting it Smile)) Any of us who have older kids usually see them come around for the end of the waterfight and just in time for the food.  I will miss my oldest this year, last I heard he was on a walk about in Australia.

Pot luck is always great as well, BBQ's starts around 5 and keeps going till fireworks so it is a constant grazing frenzy always with a bon fire for the kids to roast marshmellows.  I am baking apple turnovers and am making a crockpot full of pull apart pork for sandwiches.  My other neighbour was smoking sausages last night so I know what they are bringing.

I know I am really lucky to have great neighbours after hearing what some of you go through.  It is not uncommon just to go into each other's house to borrow something and leave a note when they are not home.  A lot of the neighbours come to my garden and use herbs or grab some lettuce, beans, etc  and I don't mind a bit as they are also the ones that help me with the heavy yard work without me asking as hubby can not do it with his back.  I think that is how it should be and would hate to have it different.  We have one that can be a bit of a pain but most of us just ignore them and he is not my direct neighbour so I don't really see it when they act up.

If I were your neighbor you would ask me to move because I would be over all the time sneaking your home baked goods and eating your food.  BUT I would be happy to weed the garden and do some lawn work to keep the peace hee hee.

That sounds just wonderful Northern. And I do hope your oldest son is enjoying his adventure. That is how things were when I was growing up, big parties at neighbors, once a year in the summer my parents would have a huge party in the backyard. Those were the good ole days for sure. I would give anything to go back in time, and be young again, and have all that to do over again.

I have been kicked out of the cage so many times, it just is no fun anymore! And there were fewer than 150 people on the entire site!

But I did want to say hello to everyone and drop this off for Northern!

...also a little treat!

Happy Canada Day, Northern!

Hope everyone else is having a good day!

Hi Brandi, what a nice graphic for Northern.  I'm so frustrated I could scream. Also Blink's site goes down, and I'm trying to follow what is happening in Morgans and Kyron's cases.

Crews dig up farm yard near Wetterling abduction site

ST. JOSEPH — Aerial photographs show that crews have been digging up a portion of the yard at a rural St. Joseph farm near the site where Jacob Wetterling was abducted in 1989.

A backhoe was used to excavate dirt and put it into a dump truck. Investigators have been at a property at 29748-91st Ave. for two days now but they won’t say what they’re looking for or what they have found.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner said today that he’s “optimistic” that investigators could wrap up their activity by the end of the day.

He said that could change depending on what officers discover. Sanner said in a phone conversation that he hopes that by the end of the day investigators have a good handle on where they are at.

He wouldn’t comment on what they are finding or looking for, saying a court order prohibits him from talking about it. He said “some areas are more interesting than others.”

The backhoe was taken from the scene shortly after 2 p.m. today.

The Stearns County dump truck appears to be making round trips from the farmstead to the county public works facility at 455-28th Ave. S. A pile of soil covered by a clear plastic tarp could be seen inside a building on that gated site.

Patty Wetterling was seen in a vehicle driving down the road, pausing to talk to deputies at the end of the property’s driveway and then heading in the direction of her home down the street.

Neighbors also complained to deputies on the scene about the number of reporters bothering them and the amount of traffic.

Sanner released a statement earlier today saying that no news conferences are planned and when information is available, a news release will be sent. Media and others should not call his office since nothing will be released, he said.

Sanner said on the phone today that he hopes to be able to talk more Friday. A court order prohibits him from saying why more than a dozen vehicles and numerous officers are searching the site.
