I tend to agree with this:

Because, really, for Mr. Obama, the most important thing, at the end of the day, is winning the war. That's why McChrystal probably won't be fired. That's probably why McChrystal won't resign. And that's why all of the actors in this drama are going to have to at least pretend to get along: there are lives at stake -- American lives, which are being lost at a rapid clip, based on the premise that the decision to extend the war in Afghanistan is to our vital national interest.

Hi monkeys~been out every day enjoying the beach while I can, but HAD to comment, first Mcchrystal tried for months to get O's attn about troop levels etc., theb when he finally met with him McC knew O isn't engaged and hasn't been.......HELLO, it's not like we haven't know this since he was inaugurated, hell it takes him an hour to order a burger and he's not been engaged in the war effort (especially when it comes to taking adive from boots on the ground) and he sure as he77 isn't involved in clean up of the oil spill/containment etc. Sadly we are facing a crisis of confidence in regards to the leadership/lack thereof is astonoshing and scares me to death.

Hi Islandmonkey.  You are so right and it scares me to death too.  It appears to me that NoBama really could care less what happens in his 4 years, he has made history and is a giant figure in his own mind, he doesn't really care what happens after that.......he is an arrogant ego maniac who doesn't give a darn about being "great" he just wants to be remembered for being the first black half white president in my opinion.  He makes me sick.

I know, try not to get yourself upset when she gets upset, it is a frustrating situation for sure.  I have a good friend whose husband is in Iraq and her son is in Afghanistan, she cried daily for almost a year and now they are both on their 2nd tour, she is better this time.  around.  I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.  Good thing your daughter has you close to her.

I know, try not to get yourself upset when she gets upset, it is a frustrating situation for sure.  I have a good friend whose husband is in Iraq and her son is in Afghanistan, she cried daily for almost a year and now they are both on their 2nd tour, she is better this time.  around.  I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.  Good thing your daughter has you close to her.
