I would feel much more kindly disposed toward Anita if she would stop lying and pretending she doesn't know Joran killed Natalee.  She knew it in 2005.

It's the lying that makes me hate her.  That and the fact she is guilty of enabling her monster son so that he could go on and kill yet another.

Doesn't get any worse than that in my book, enabling your homicidal maniac to kill the children of others.  Not to mention the extortion and all the lies. 

She isn't much above Joran in the morals department--just hasn't killed anybody.  She's the one who helped teach Joran that if you get away with it, it doesn't count.

Remenber those first ten days when we were screaming for ALE to collect forensics and instead they refused, said we didn't understand their system, arrested two innocent men even though they knew they both had alibis and generally insulted Beth and all our intelligence.

We knew everything they said was a lie.  But so did they.  And now the whole world is looking at Peru and asking why couldn't Aruba have done at least some of the same things.

They refused to collect video tapes from all possible places Natalee could have been seen and even pretended all the cameras weren't working.

Good morning Monkeys!  Joran spins his life around gambling, drugs, sex and lies.  Anita spins her life around Joran.  Both are spinning out of control.  Joran is in prison and Anita's funds are being depleted.  Who will stop spinning first?  It will and has had an adverse affect on their family as a whole and only Joran and Anita can stop this cycle.  It's sad, but not one 100th as sad as what Beth and Dave have been through not knowing where their daughter is due to Joran Vandersnot.

Judge rejects Van der Sloot's unlawful detention motion

Lima, Peru -- A Superior Court Judge in Lima, Peru, upheld the confession and incarceration of Joran van der Sloot in connection with the killing of Stefany Flores, officials said.

On Friday, Judge Wilder Casique Alvizuri declared as "unfounded" van der Sloot's habeas corpus claim that his constitutional rights were violated at the time of the confession because he was represented by a state-appointed attorney. Van der Sloot also claimed that his laptop had been improperly searched.

In an official press release, the judge said that the suspect had a translator made available to him during the three depositions he gave the police and that his laptop was sealed once delivered to the court.

Van der Sloot, a 22-year-old Dutch citizen, is jailed pending trial on charges of first-degree murder and robbery in the May 30 death in of Flores, a 21-year-old student.

While he remains a suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005, he has not been charged in that crime.
