South African DSTV viewers are currently taking note of the international movie Natalee Holloway with local actress Natasha Loring in a featured role.

Shot in Cape Town in 2009 for the Lifetime Movie Network in USA, Natalee Holloway became the highest-rated movie in the network's 11-year history with 3.2 million viewers and received a PRISM award in 2010.

Natalee Holloway highlights an issue that must be every mother's worst nightmare; that of a child going missing while travelling in a foreign country.
 
Based on the book by Natalee Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty, it tells the tale of Natalee's disappearance during a high school graduation trip to Aruba. The events that followed caused a media sensation in the United States.
 
Natasha Loring, daughter of theatre impresario Richard Loring, plays Hayley, Natalee's best friend. The filming of Natalee Holloway came at an opportune time as it served as a caution to Natasha who soon thereafter embarked on a stint of travelling alone through Spain and Morocco, where she brushed up on her Spanish - first learned while on exchange to Argentina. Natasha states that "the screening of the movie came at an ideal time, as it reminds young people celebrating during the World Cup to constantly be aware of danger and to take care".
 
Natalee Holloway will be screened on M-Net and M-Net HD on Tuesday 29 June at 23h00, with further screenings planned on these channels for July - check out your DSTV guide for details.

Just five years after the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, Joran van der Sloot, chief suspect but never convicted, is a prime suspect in the murder of a girl from Peru, Stephany Flores. Van der Sloot in currently in prison in Lima awaiting trial.

Nonesuche,  Yes, it is remarkable that Joran's attorney admits his goal is to paralyze the legal proceedings.  The judges are not going to view that favorably.  In fact, it should be illegal to try to obstruct justice like that.

Glad to read that Joran's request for curtains was denied -- couldn't help but make the graphic anyway. 

Too, funny!  But that's exactly what comes to my mind.

I am also pretty sure it's how the rest of the prisoners would see Joran.  It's a very hard environment in there and he is already getting special privileges and treatment.  I think they would definitely see the curtains as feminine.  After all, that's what they are looking for in another inmate because there are no real females.

Misgivings - I realize they reported Anita arranged for the girl to bring Joran food but don't you think the attorney would likely know more people in the Lima area than Anita?  I was simply saying that after Anita asked Joran's attorney to make sure Joran got food, he arranged to have someone take him food. 

Which is really sort of the same thing.  However, I think Joran may be surprised that the local food is not the same as he is accustomed to. 

There won't be any pankeoken, lol.  And sometimes things are confusing.  For example tuna = some kind of cactus.  And I hope he gets the chicken foot soup, too. 

There is also a regional dish of little round slices of meat cooked with onions that turns out to be beef tongue.  And lots of a local grain Quanoi (not sure how to spell it) which is like rice and very nutritous.  No resort food for Joran and I am sure he will learn to eat it all and clean his plate.

Or go hungry.  His little cans of food can also be taken away from him and if he doesn't share with his new BFF Clown, I think that'w what will happen.

Canned food is expensive, too.  But Anita has her blood money from the interviews so let her feed her monster at her own expense.

On JVM yesterday, Sloot PI and supporter Les Levine said he didn't understand why "all these crimes" (meaning Natalee) were being pinned on poor Joran and urged people to only deal with the Stephany Flores murder in regard to him.

Of course, that's the same approach as Anita wants.  Or worse, to blame the accusations about Natalee for Joran's current situation. 

That's just wrong and backwards.  No way could Joran have done anything so rutal as the way he killed Stephany if he were not a brutal person to the core of his being.

And now we have his younger brother exhibiting signs of being totally unbalanced.  I wonder how many people Poppin Fresh will have to kill before Anita will admit that one also needs help big time.  She should give that bed she reserved for Joran to him while he is still young enough for it to actually help, if possible.  But there is not much hope for treatment of sociopaths.  It's what they are and not just what they do.

P.S.  They are discussing all the mental illnesses of Stephanie Ragusa on TruTv right now.  She is the 30 yo who had sex with 14 to high schiil students.  Mental illnesses are being used to try to get her a lesser sentence but they certainly did not prevent her from being convicted.  She is still facing the MAXIMUM sentence.  They threw the book at her.  All criminals have mental issues.

ORANJESTAD (AAN) DIARIO’s Woman of the Year for this year is Karin P. J. Janssen who is chief prosecutor for the Public Ministry.

The reason Mrs. Karin Janssen was selected as Woman of the Year is for the work conducted during this year, but especially for the firm position she too un a case that has surely had a big impact on Aruba and internationally, the case of the missing American woman called Natalee.

It is known that Karin Janssen was and still is the chief of the investigation into the controversial case of Natalee’s disappearance.

There is much pressure on chief prosecutor, from the outside and even within the Public Ministry related to the case in question and she passed very difficult moments where even the government wanted to remove her.

Chief prosecutor Janssen worked hard alongside police to hand over proof on the case of Natalee and although on all sides they encountered many obstacles, they did not lose patience and continued working hard to solve a great problem in which the people of Aruba are not at fault.

None of the negative developments nor the great pressure have made this lady succumb and she has fostered respect and shown great courage.

Once again, a woman in a key position demonstrates that they can maintain a cool head and continue ahead to do their duty and their professional obligation, like Mrs. Karin Janssen has shown during the year.

Schippers to sue U.S. Janssen to publish "My Vagina"
Washington D.C.

Aruba spokeswoman and defense attorney Arlene Schippers has filed a lawsuit in Federal court today. Also, Prosecutor Karin Janssen is reported to be releasing her autobiography titled "My Vagina."

In the suit, Ms. Schippers is suing every citizen of the United States for:

Failure to understand the Dutch Legal System
Deciding to not travel to Aruba
Making critical remarks about her intelligence
Not being a good ally
Placing the life of a murdered American above that of the tourism industry of Aruba
Electing George Bush
Illegally invading Iraq
Not caring about the poor people of Aruba
Claiming the Secretary of State is actually Black

The suit explicitly claims Beth Holloway Twitty has been a "nuisance."

Spokesman for the spokeswoman, Ruben Trapenburg, says that Ms. Schippers has suffered "emotional trauma". "She's a sensitive women who has been ummm....you know, she's not happy."

When asked what damages Ms.Schippers is seeking, Mr. Trapenburg said, "She's already been damaged."

The suit is seeking the President of the United States to formally insist that every American travel to Aruba.

When asked what is at the core of the lawsuit, Mr. Trapenburg seemed startled but said,

"Money?"

Mr. Trapenburg has also read an advanced copy of Karin Janssen's new book. When asked what he thought of the book he responded, "I think My Vagina stinks."

So Joran actually thinks the FBI lured him to Peru? That's awfully narcissistic of him.
Could be that the FBI referred him to Garcia because they knew Garcia was a crooked bad guy. Because sometimes the FBI is funny like that. hah. But Joran seems to suggest that the FBI hooked up with Garcia who would somehow watch Joran and keep him for the FBI until the feds could snag Joran in some back alley white van and whisk him off the the US. Yeah. But something went terribly wrong. Joran arrived in Peru and Garcia told him to go to the casino and Garcia sent in operative Stephany and Joran killed her because she was a fembot. Then he took off her pants to disarm her but... oopsie...

Paulus and the Colombians has been a rumor for a very long time.  Goes back to about 2006.  It was known there were supposed to be tapes of Paulus and Colombians but no proof.

Well, there is still none for that matter.  But TJ knows who told him about them.  I have often wondered if the DEA intercepted them and for that reason they could never be used as DEA is not supposed to be listening to anybody but drug traffic.

May be something, may be not.  That's how it goes with things in Aruba.

Remember the prosecutor who had Karin Janssen's job at one time and she called (working on a fading memory) either Dave or TJ to her home once and gave them information.  I cannot remember who she was at this time or the whole story, but trying to work from old timer's memory.

For the life of me --- I cannot remember.

I am starting to wonder if the NE is directing Joran's lawyer as to what to do in this case. I believe all the stall tactics the lawyer is using will result in a longer trial, and that Anita, if left to her own resources, will run out of money before Joran's defense is completed, so the money will need to come from somewhere.
I am worried that the food mule will be killed for assisting Joran while he is incarcerated. I don't think it will be too hard for folks to find out who she is and what she is doing.

Nice work, Karin, you made the team. Take a look around, you are one of them now, no mistake. Must be a great feeling. Stay on the island with the rest of them. Call Angela, Nadira, Rubberlegs and a few more and daisy chain on the Wyndham lobby carpet if you like,  but worry just a little. You know what they are capable of. Maybe some day something really terrible happens to your family and…well you know.

Try Holland. No problem. Friends, people you meet, colleagues…you square right up and look ‘em dead in the eye with your cold bitch stare because you would sell out their babies just to make your day go smoother.

Some cringing, self effacing little weasel offers you a ride home from say an Abba tribute or whatever, you hop right in. Meet up with a big friendly blockhead at a fun bar someplace and let him get you a drink. Drink deep, Karin. You earned it.

By the way, is there a way you guys recognize each other? I mean is it like werewolves or something? Just wondered, it’s hard for us, look how long you played it out.
